It was nearly 4:30 in the evening, when the two cousins returned home. First thing Azlaan wanted to do was to inform Shifa that he was back, so he rushed towards the stairs, and saw Iffat bi coming downstairs, carrying a tray with half empty containers. 'Everything all right?' He asked skeptically. She smiled and said, 'Everything is on schedule and Chote sahib I have transferred all your required belongings in the downstairs bedroom for the evening, you don't need to come upstairs.' 'I just want to check on Shifa, and then I will get ready.' Azlaan started ascending the stairs, but was blocked by his housekeeper. He had to find another way to inform Shifa. He came downstairs to find Qasim struggling with couple of bags. Qasim looked at Azlaan's expression and said, 'You look annoyed, did Shifa also ran away?' Azlaan stared at him insolently, then started walking from one corner to another, trying to calm himself. 'Ok that was uncalled for, but why are you pacing the room like a caged lion?' Qasim was unable to understand his restlessness. Azlaan has been meticulous about all the details regarding the Nikkah ceremony. Elders were invited, sweets were ordered, and courtyard was completely transformed in to a beautiful seating area with the appropriate decoration. And the most difficult task of all, which was to convince the inflexible Molvi sahib to come in the evening to perform the nikkah on short notice was also successfully achieved.
