I kidding? My knees were as weak as jelly, just like they always were
when I saw him. I took in a deep breath as he flashed me a perfect
white smile.
" Hi Alex". His deep voice always spread butterflies into my stomach.
" Hi Charlie, how's it going?"
" Good, good. Um… me and a few mates are going down to the movies
tonight, fancy being my date?"
I had been waiting for this night for all my Secondary School life!
Charlie Watts was finally asking me out! After months of looking at
each other from afar, it was finally happening!
" Um…" my tongue swelled to double its normal size so I couldn't
speak. " I'd love to! What time shall we meet?"
" I will pick you up at 7. That ok?"
" That's perfect! See you tonight?"
" Right, bye!" and with a wink, he swaggered away with pride.
I stopped my self squealing with girlie delight as I walked home.
Going out with Charlie would improve my social status so much! He was
the most popular guy in school, not to mention years older than me!
Going out with him will make my life long dream come true, which was
to be cool and popular.
I got home at around 4:30, and immediately started getting ready. If
tonight was going to be the best night of my life, I had to look good

“It was 8 a.m. in the morning last March when it happened. [The driver] wasn’t drunk or anything and it didn’t have anything to do with the weather conditions,” said Carole Ferguson Page, a Massachusetts resident.
Suzanne Collins published Catching Fire in 2009. During that year the United States was at war with Iraq. The main cause of the war was the terrorist attack that occurred on September 11, 2001. There is however another reason for the war. George W. Bush wanted retribution for his father, George H. W. Bush. The President of Iraq, Saddam Hussein attempted to assassinate George H. W. Bush. Years later Bush’s son was elected as president and also held a personal vendetta against Hussein. The Iraq War was an armed conflict in Iraq that consisted of two parts. The first was an attack on Iraq on 20 March 2003 by an invasion force led by the United States. The second part was much longer, ending in 2011, in which rebellions came out to go up against the forces and the newly formed Iraqi government.
The “Auto Wreck” by Karl Shapiro is a gripping poem that dives into the world of death from an observer’s perspective. Karl Shapiro decorates the poem with a beautiful, yet saddening, portrayal of death. Shapiro uses several prevailing elements to make sure that the message and theme are clearly displayed to the audience. Through personification, diction, and imagery, Karl Shapiro shows all aspects of a car wreck from the perspective of a victim, showing that death is irrational and illogical.

The text of “Burning Chrome” by William Gibson, is based on the tale of two professional hackers, Automatic Jack and Bobby Quine. Jack buys a piece of unknown software that turns out to be a sophisticated and almost untraceable Russian hacking software. Bobby decided to use this software to break in and steal money from a high level and well connected criminal known as Chrome. After Jack agrees, the two hackers successfully break in and steal money as well as take down Chrome. These two characters live in a futuristic world where human anatomy and customizable technology have become one and both software and hardware have become crucial to the people of this time. In this essay I will briefly explain how software and hardware play a crucial part within the plot and how they differentiate from one another.

There are many social problems that exist in the world today, which includes but do not limits to self-identity and racism. However, they somehow go unnoticed because at times people conform to what society thinks is the way to live. In my opinion, people believe they should act or feel a certain way because of what is broadcast on television, featured in magazines, and even brought into the limelight by celebrities. After viewing the movie Crash, in my opinion, the movie targets on going social problems that are constantly being swept under the rug to this present day. I deem Crash a race movie because it forces the audience to question their own moral values.

As the kid went into the candy store, the reaction of his face was priceless. Like all kids in a candy store, his eyes livened up and his mouth drooled. It was kind of amusing to watch, but the grandparents loved every second of it. They knew that as the kid grew older, he would go his separate way and would not be as close to them. They wanted to cherish the moment, enjoy every little detail about the boy, and spend as much time with him before he would “leave the nest.”
