On Saturday, April 28th, I attended the Houston Symphony conducted by Juraj Valcuha accompanied by Evgeni Bozhanov on piano. It consisted of three pieces by the name of Overture to The Merry Wives of Windsor, Piano Concert No. 2 in F minor, Opnus 21, and Also sprach Zarathustra. Overall, it was a great experience that I would definitely would like to attend again simply because it was relaxing and peaceful watching the performance. The audience was very respectful and the setting was professional. Everyone was nicely dressed and the workers were extremely helpful in directing the audience to the correct place. The doors were not allowed to be opened during performances which kept the distractions to a minimum.
Overture to Die lugustigen Weiber von Windsor (The Merry Wives of Windsor). It included 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 4 horns, 2 trumpets, 3 trombones, timpani, percussion and strings. This song began very subtlely and in a sort of majestic way. As I listened to it, it reminded me of a ball dance because of the royal feel it had to it. The first thing that popped to mind was the Cinderella movie where her and the Prince Charming dance. The second part of this piece

Of course, the image I had in mind as I listened to this song was Toy Story since it was played in the movie. There was more of a storyline to this song compared to Piano Concerto No.2 in F minor, Opur 21. What helped the story line come to live was the automatic connection to Toy Story. There were parts that had various styles and noises coming at the same time, so the entire time I spent looking for the orgin of the noises; it was quite entertaining. Although it was a long piece, I very much enjoyed it because of the different elements that it
Thursdays at Cal State L.A. seemed like any other typical day- warm, busy, and tiring. However, on December 2, 2015, something was particularly different; not only was it the last day of class before finals, but there was also a Mariachi concert directed by Cynthia Reifler Flores. As I was walking towards the State Playhouse, I thought about how the music would be composed. The first thing that I expected was the music to have a quick, upbeat tempo, something that would be played at a festival or a party. I walked through the screen door and was given a pamphlet. In it contained detailed information about their programs, musicians, Flores’ biography, and the prodigious mariachi group. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, the doors
On Friday November 15, 2013, I attended a concert that I found very interesting. It took place at 7:30 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. The group performing was the Erie Chamber Orchestra but as a special the Slippery Rock University Concert Choir was also there.
The first piece presented in this concert was Robert Strauss’ Metamorphosen, Study for 23 Solo Strings a piece was composed during the last months of World War II, from August 1944 to March 1945, dedicated it to Paul Sacher. It was first performed in January 1946 with ten violins, five violas, five cellos, and three double basses, this was immolated in the performance by the Atlanta Symphony orchestra on April 13th that I attended. It is widely believed that Strauss wrote the work as a statement of mourning for Germany's destruction during the war, in particular as an elegy for devastating bombing of Munich during the second World War.
I attended the Missouri Western Jazz Ensemble concert on February 3. I can thoroughly say I enjoyed the performance. For being a rather small band, less than twenty members, they certainly packed a very large sound. To me the band sounded as though it was very well rehearsed. There seemed no lack of confidence in there playing; you could tell they knew and enjoyed playing the songs. All of these factors made it very entertaining to watch this ensemble.
The performance that I attended was of the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra playing the Overture to The creatures of Prometheus, by Beethoven, the Concerto for Orchestra by Kodaly, and Harold in Italy, by Berlioz. The orchestra was conducted by David Currie, and I think that they played very well overall.
On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, I attended a musical concert. This was the first time I had ever been to a concert and did not play. The concert was not what I expected. I assumed I was going to a symphony that featured a soloist clarinet; however, upon arrival I quickly realized that my previous assumptions were false. My experience was sort of a rollercoaster. One minute I was down and almost asleep; next I was laughing; then I was up and intrigued.
In conclusion, it was a very unique experience for me to attend this concert. It was my first time listening to music in a church. The music was wonderful and played brilliantly. I now realize how talented some of the women composers were throughout the history of music. The experience of listening to such wonderful music firsthand was an honor. I hope to attend one in the near future.
I am going to talk about the intonation, balance and blend of the Sartell High School Wind Ensembles most recent performance. The style of the pieces played were mostly themes from musicals, movies, and television shows. The pieces performed were titled Star Wars, Baba Yetu, Somewhere, Into the Woods, and What’s up at the Symphony. The concert took place on March 9th, 2016 in the Sartell High School auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
Music is virtually everywhere we go, no matter if it is background noise in a coffee shop or singing along while shopping for groceries, we can find music somewhere. The event I attended was the Flint Symphony Orchestra on October 8, 2016. I have never attended a symphony before so I was excited to go, especially since I had invited my friend to attend with me. For this event, I was already informed by my teacher that the symphony will be formal so we needed to look the part since others will be dressed fancy. This made me curious how this event will turn out. Walking past the ticket area and through the doors to the lobby made me feel instantly memorized at how grand it was on the inside. I went downstairs and there were a vast
My final winter concert has come and gone quicker than I could have possibly imagined. It was certainly one I will never forget because it was my very first time performing in every band and choir group. It was a very stressful night but having it perfectly planned and having help from many of my fellow performers definitely made me feel a lot more at ease. This concert definitely had it’s ups and downs and there are somethings that I wish went a lot better. However in the end, I did enjoyed performing and gave it a lot of effort.
For this concert report I had the pleasure of attending the Dana Guitar Studio in Recital at noon on Wednesday April 23rd in the Butler Museum of American Art. The concert was directed by Dr. Francois Fowler and performing in this recital were seven student guitarists from the YSU Dana School of Music. I would say there was many venues being held in this concert. One venue was a studio recital because the concert showcased the strengths and talents of the performers. The concert was also a public concert; it was free and open to the people. Finally I would say the concert held educational performance because it taught and conveyed meaning to an audience.
The Symphony Orchestra concert was preformed by The OU School of Music with Jonathan Shames as a conductor and they presented Sutton Concert Series. In addition, the Orchestra concert performed at Paul F. Sharp Concert Hall in October 12, 2015.There were like forty-one performers on the stage including the conductor using different types of instruments and and all of them were wearing a nice black clothes. The stage was a quite large with wooden floor and there were two floors for the audience with a comfortable seating. However, all the performers were on round shape and against the conductor.
For this concert report I chose to go to a performance of student composers held at the Kimball Recital Hall. I chose this one because I wanted to see some of the talent that my peers have in the music realm, and also it was one of the only concerts I have been able to attend because I usually work at night. It was impressive to hear pieces composed by students. I cannot imagine creating something as complex as a musical composition, much less actually performing it, so this aspect of the concert was particularly awe-inspiring. There was a large attendance, and I think that much of the audience consisted of friends of the composers and/or performers. I went with three friends, who I convinced by telling it would be interesting to see student composers.
A few days ago, on January 28th, I was able to attend a free live concert at the Bing Theater of the Los Angeles county of Museum of Art. It was the first live classical concert I have ever attended in my life. The performances were purely instrumental music. The concert featured different composers belonging to different eras of music such as Bach from the Baroque era and Beethoven from the Classical and Romantic Era. The variety of compositions, even though small, and their eras of music made the concert very interesting.
Public interest law is the practice of law to further the interest of the general public or a specific segment of it. The different types of clients and issues handled in public interest law reflect the many, broad areas of public concern, such as child welfare, illegal discrimination, environmental protection, and domestic violence. There are many different types of jobs in the public interest area, and, if you are considering going into the field of public interest, it is worthwhile to inquire about different careers to determine which might best fit your talents, aspirations, and desired lifestyle. Below I’ve listed several of the different, common types of traits employers look for when considering an up and coming lawyer for their firm.
