.0 Introduction
The opening of the 21st century arrived with an economic limp. Dragging behind it a spirit squeezed by imploded exuberance, the economy led some to give up on change and growth. Companies cut new programs, pulled out of or shut down corporate ventures, retrenched and played it safe. Yet, simmering barely beneath the surface we can see powerful drivers of change and growth still at work, building pressure for the next upswing in the megacycles of economy.
We never had a “New Economy”; we had an evolving innovation economy. Surviving and prospering, calls for a sound grasp of the drivers of change. The fact that there has never been a “golden company” that consistently beat the market is due to differing principles under which capital markets and corporations operates. Markets, built on the assumption of “discontinuity” enable, manage and control the process of creative destruction by encouraging new entrants that produce superior results and value by “remorselessly” replacing weak performers that consume wealth. This process is has always been at the heart of capitalism, but the pace of change is accelerating to the extent that we have entered what Peter Drucker calls the Age of Discontinuity.
Organizations in today’s hypercompetitive world face the paradoxical challenges of “dualism”, that is, functioning efficiently today while innovating effectively for tomorrow. The purpose of this case study is to analyze, understand and prepare strategies to overcome the impacts and implications of introduction of the $15 PC by Rolltronics towards my Computer firm named ‘Company X’ by using the Theory of Disruptive Technology and Innovative Management.
2.0 Personal Computer Industry Overview
The market for laptop computers has distinguished itself as one of the fastest growing segments of the computer industry. Throughout its growth and development, this market, like many others, has changed a great deal as a result of customer demands. In an effort to cater to these demands, companies like Dell and HP look to market trends to aid in the development of new products. In most recent stages, the laptop market has been specifically influenced by a number of trends. Simply, customers are becoming more educated about their purchases. As a result of these consumer educations, buyers want increased customization of PCs. The growing amount of knowledge is creating the ability for buyers to distinguish their own personal need in a computer from a standardized product.
The laptop market is growing faster than desktop computers.
Innovation has rapidly assumed a position of prominence in world competition on a global scale. To compete in this environment, organizations need a level of innovation. As competition becomes more global and time-based, organizations must develop and deliver new and superior products or services in less time. The challenge for modern organizations is to revitalize them so they can successfully and continuously develop newer products and enhance business development.

Innovation and disruption have become buzzwords in the past decade. With the advent of smaller and faster technological components, start-ups and established companies alike have promised to improve (even revolutionize) our lives with wearables, appliances, apps, and the Internet of Things. Unlike maintenance and repair, innovation and disruption are perceived as interesting, exciting, and “sexy.”
With new technology introduced every day it might be the time to upgrade to a better computer. Now the question is whether to invest in a pre-built computer or invest in time and money to build a custom computer. Even though there are many good pre-built computers being sold today, custom building a computer is more beneficial because it saves the user more money in the future, builders will have the ability to decide on what components go in the computer, and it avoids many of the preposterous tricks that manufacturers pull off. Since many pre-built computers lack the power and performance needed by gamers and photo editors, they often turn to building a custom computer themselves. Custom built computers will ensure the user cheap prices plus higher and reliable performance.
Historically the personal computer (PC) industry has sold its products at reasonably high prices yet garnered only small profit margins. One reason for this is the high competition in the PC industry which led to competitive pricing among producers. Analyzing the competitive environment of the PC industry, it is evident that there is very little barrier to entry in this market. PC's have very low physical uniqueness and are made of standard components that require very little expertise to assemble.
The invention of computers has made a huge change in human civilization and society, by changing the way people think. Computers replaced jobs and tedious repetitive thoughts that were done by human originally. People became more and more reliant on computers, and thus, computers became essential to our lives. Computers can manufacture products quickly, and eliminate possible human errors. As technology progresses, new ideas have been brought into computer to make them perform more efficiently. Also, scientists and engineers tend to make things “smaller”, so we can enjoy the benefits from electronic devices anywhere and anytime. Therefore, size and efficiency are two main points for consumers. Desktop computer and laptop computer are representatives for each of these concepts. Although desktops and laptops come from the same origin, they are different in many ways.

.Walton made an agreement to collaborate with world’s largest two tech giants Intel and Microsoft in order to introduce their very own branded 6th generation Intel processor-based laptops in their product line for the Bangladeshi customers. They plan to introduce about 20 models of laptops under these four series: Karonda, Passion, Tamarind and WaxJambu with a price range from BDT 29,500 to BDT 95,500. The customers would be able to easily buy Walton’s brand new laptops on 12-month EMI and also enjoy the benefit of one year after sales service absolutely free.
When attending college, students need to have the right type of tools to help them succeed. A mobile computer is one such tool. Finding the right mobile computer can be difficult. The mobile computer needs to meet certain requirements. It needs to be light weight, fast, and with plenty of memory space. There are many personal computers on the market. There are tablets and there are laptops. One way to decide between a tablet and a laptop is to compare them. The Samsung Galaxy 3 tablet, Microsoft surface tablet are two well know tablets. The HP Pavilion 10 TouchSmart 10ze000 notebook and HP 15-d030nr notebook are two well-known laptops. First, there is the comparison between the tablets.

This definition has extended the power of the theory to explain different types of disruptive innovations across a wide range of industries (Schmidt and Druehl, 2008).
Finding an affordable computer with well balance performance can be difficult these days. Nowadays, computers come in the form of laptops or tablets in an excess amount. They may seem flashy on the outside, but most get by as laptops for school or everyday needs. On the inside they are just a puny little piece of machinery that could not handle your more prestigious applications, like 3D modeling or gaming apps. This risk can easily be prevented, but others cannot.

Keeping up with technology is difficult, tiresome, and firms find it very costly to keep at pace with it. Technology rapidly and constantly keeps on changing. Being at par technologically requires extensive research and strategic analysis of acquiring new innovation. Enforcing new technology requires staff retraining and in some cases making employees redundant.
