On this occasion I will compare and contrast the four styles of creative intelligence and the influence on organizational decision making. I will discuss the five influences on the mental models/mind sets and will include and explain examples of how these are commonly used to guide my decision making at work and how these models influence my decision making at work.
What is creative thinking? Creative thinking is; the process used when one comes up with a new idea. It can be accidental or deliberate (Creative Thinking, n.d). This involves insights, synthesis and the ability to react to novel situations and stimuli. This he considers the experiential aspect of intelligence and reflects how an individual connects the internal world to external reality (Sternberg's, 2004).
Creativity is a talent that we all possess. It consists of a set of skills that can be learned, developed and used. An individual can think creatively in any situation. People creative ability depends very much on your self-belief, and you can influence your brain to be more creative.
Creativity involves looking beyond the boundaries of our normal thinking. It is the ability to keep an open mind and see new perspectives and to generate and or develop different ideas (Naiman, 2007). It also includes conscious efforts to see things differently, to break out of habits and out-dated beliefs to find new ways of thinking, doing and being. Creativity is a natural, normal aspect of healthy human beings. What counts is whether the novelty he or she produces is accepted to solve an issue.
Research shows that anyone with normal intelligence is capable of doing some degree of creative work. Creativity depends on a number of things: experience, including knowledge and technical skills; talent; an ability to think in new ways; and the capacity to push through uncreative dry spells (Kelly, 2004). The everyday expression of creativity often takes the form of trying out a new approach to a familiar problem.
People create things and ideas every day. Often, people create worry and negative imaginations - images of things that will never happen. These worries provide a diversion to the harsh reality that exists in some companies. These worries and the stress of trying to function in a hostile environment, deplete the creativity that could be channeled into positive forms (Unlocking natural creativity - Everyone is creative!, 2008).
Everyone is capable of having a creative spirit. It does not just mean getting better ideas; but kind of general awareness that takes individuals to greater enjoyment of work and the people in your life: a spirit that can improve collaboration and communication with others.

Of all my positive attributes, creativity is not one of them. I think of creativity as the ability to come up with new things, using one’s imagination to create beauty, induce laughter, and/or provoke emotion. My jokes are always corny, my drawing skills are comparable to a toddler’s, and I suck at telling stories. “Creative” definitely does not describe me.

What exactly is creativity? To be creative is to understand and connect the small details of our experiences, both good and bad (creative something). Creativity involves a person using his or her original ideas to create something. Artists such as poets, writers, painters, designers, and more use creativity on a regular basis. They use creativity to come up with new ideas and create original works of art. A poet would use his or her creative abilities to write and produce a poem just like a painter would use creativity to paint a painting.
In conclusion to some up this essay the term ‘creativity’ will always cause a debate in the educational system as. There will always be difficulty defining it as many use the term too loosely to have a definitive meaning. It requires risk taking, it is difficult to portray creativity when schools are so obsessed with right or wrong answers for ways of doing things. Society teaches us the risks are bad because the government and its policies interfere with our own choices and decisions.

In The Creative Priority she divides creativity into three main branches. The first involves `making unfamiliar combinations of familiar ideas', new ways to join already existing ideas in order to generate a completely novel creation, be it a poem, a painting or a scientific invention. Design thinking is a process for practical, creative resolution of problems or issues that looks for an improved future result. It is the essential ability to combine empathy, creativity and rationality to meet user needs and drive business success. Unlike analytical thinking, design thinking is a creative process based around the building up of ideas. There are no judgments early on the design thinking (Simon, 1969, p. 55). Design thinking includes imagination and reason, a combination of convergent and divergent thought, and creativity. Design thinking might be thought of as dialectic, or conversation. It involves design wisdom, judgment, and knowledge. Lastly, design thinking is skill (Hegeman, 2008).

PBS describes creativity as, “The new ideas and new connections between ideas, and ways to solve problems in any field or realm of our lives. The concept of creativity is often hard to grasp because creativity isn 't a tangible thing its just and idea. Also, because it’s hard to differ between a truly original idea and an idea that is just shaped from others. With all this being said, it can be hard to figure out where creativity comes from.
As Mok and Morris (2010) asserts, creativity is the ability to use mental potential to generate new and original ideas, while innovation involves implementation of the new idea. Moreover, while ideas (the main result of creativity) are intangible and thus not measurable, innovation introduces a measurable change in the existing system or develops a physical product, which makes the ideas viable. Furthermore, unlike creativity, where the level or nature and number of conceived ideas depend on imagination, knowledge and curiosity, innovations are usually incremental with every innovation being an improvement of the existing solutions. At advanced levels, creativity may also be regarded as a complete process that involves three important levels namely discovery of the idea, invention, and creation of the idea into reality.
Since we are born we have imagination and as we grow up this imagination may increase or decrease. Creativity strongly relies in our imagination. Depending on different circumstances people learn to express their creativity openly while other people close themselves and believe they do not have creativity. Creativity is a natural talent that every single human has. Creativity can be used to solve a complex problem in a different manner or just to find innovative ways to have fun. Creativity is thinking out of the box. Even though creativity cannot be taught from scratch there should be a class that is specific for creativity.
For the past few years, design thinking has made its breakthrough on education, business, and design fields. Design thinking is basically a new interactive process of thinking, or problem-solving method for the resolution of problems. Which differs from traditional design approaches in specific ways. It involves more creative and user-centered design approach.
