The American science fiction film ‘Avatar’, directed by James Cameron is about Jake Sully, a paralysed former marine who becomes an avatar to take his place on a mission on the distant world of Pandora. There, he meets the Na’vi people and gets attached to living in harmony with nature, where he must save their land when being attacked by humans. The story line of Avatar follows closely with ‘The Hero’s Journey’ which focuses on how the main character is experiencing a change from his ordinary world, turning into an avatar to explore a new world. Primarily, Avatar captures a call to adventure to begin the hero’s journey. The film also explores a new approach with crossing the first threshold of the hero’s joinery which is conveyed through a range of cinematic techniques. Furthermore, Sully experiences a major ordeal followed by a reward shown in a variety of dramatic shots.
When seeing any movie, there is a special message behind each film that the creators want the viewers to notice. DreamWorks and Pixar are two respectable studios that created many successful films throughout the years that sends a positive message to its audience. In the films of “Megamind” and “Wreck it Ralph” the main theme shown throughout the film was the transformation of character from a villain to a hero. The two films focus on the theme of redemption because each main character towards the end of film showed their true character. The films have a story of origin on how they were established as villains, desire to fit into society and showing how they became true hero’s in the films.

The pristine 1933 King Kong was constructed as a movie: to convey a story to entertain an audience. Peter Jackson’s 2005 remake took the substructure for King Kong and expanded upon it in virtually every way in order to “make again” the astoundment of the original for a modern-day audience. Audiences received the first King Kong very well. The stop-motion sequences of Kong were astounding for their time and the movie grossed over $90,000 in its beginning weekend. In order to bank upon its prosperity again, sequels were made and thus in 1976 a remake was made to amend upon the original. Paramount updated the movie to color, altered the story, and cast Jeff Bridges, a widely popular actor of the time, as the lead actor. Although the movie received stirred reviews, it did exceptionally well in the box office and tripled Paramount’s initial budget for the motion picture. Even though the movie wasn’t “as good” as the original, audiences still paid money to view it because of that hope that they would feel like they once did when they visually perceived the first King Kong. The remake add...
Another animated epic that took the world by storm was a show called Avatar: The Last Airbender. Originally airing from 2005 to 2008 on Nickelodeon, this was a show that took the bar and raised, and eventually broke. The show takes place in an ancient setting where the world is divided into four nations of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. In each nation are a select few group of people who have the ability to bend and manipulate their nation’s respective element. Only one, however, can bend all four. He or she is proclaimed the Avatar, and their duty is to balance and protect the world. They also act as a bridge between the physical and spirit world. The main character, Aang, is a young airbender who runs away once he discovers he is the avatar, due to being shunned by his fellow monks and being sent away from his adoptive father. However, he gets caught in a storm and is frozen for 100 years and wakes up in a world divided by war and under attack by the main nation of fire. His goal is to learn all four elements, while traveling with his friends and being pursued. This show touches base with war, specifically the damaging effects it can have a nation’s spirit. Refugees, starting a new life, conspiracy in a world that is divided, taking responsibility for one's past actions, and proving that death is not always the final option are some of the many themes shown throughout the show’s three seasons. Now while that may seem like such an onslaught of “messages” and “awareness campaigns” the show manages to have their comedy mirror their action. Thus having the light-hearted whimsy, parallel their serious moments, tying into a variety that makes a great show.
Avatar the motion picture throws you into a rich world, with diverse characters who clash over cultural and socio-economic issues. At the heart of the story is a former Marine named Jake Sully, who falls in love while on an alien planet with a woman from a race of people called the Na’vi. The character whom he falls in love with is an alien for which he sacrifices his whole way of life to be with. By way of his experiences with the Na’vi, he begins to adopt a new worldview, which can only be described as Pantheism.
The widely popular film Shrek, produced and distributed by DreamWorks in 2001, grossed a total of $484,409,218 in worldwide sales (Box Office Mojo). The success of the film has led DreamWorks to create several shorts, companion films, and sequels. From its memorable characters to its whimsical, edgy humor, Shrek was an amazing, highly successful animation that would pave the way for DreamWorks to make billions off the franchise. Shrek’s success can be attributed to three main factors: the range of ages it appeals to, its creative use of intertextuality, and its ability to cover a wide range of the fairy tale functions proposed by Vladimir Propp.
Behind nearly every movie, there is subliminal context that is far more complex. There are no exceptions for children’s movies, either. In Chicken Run, produced in 2000, a brood of hens attempt to evade their fate of becoming “chicken pies” due to a decrease in the production of eggs (Lord & Park). In Toy Story 3, produced in 2010, a group of toys are mistakenly donated to a daycare that is dominated by an evil bear. Subsequently, they devise an escape plan in effort of returning home (Unkrich). Similarly, in both of these films, the characters find themselves in an undesirable setting in an endeavor to escape impending doom. This is a reflection of the Jewish pursuit of liberty from the Nazis. Chicken Run and Toy Story 3 give a transparent reference to the Holocaust on account of the toys and chickens alike, being decidedly useless, are condemned and ultimately led to their presumed demise- not so coincidentally being an oven (Chicken Run) and a furnace (Toy Story 3).
Looney Tune and Tom & Jerry are both classical comedy cartoons. The both shows have around for about 80 years. Tom & Jerry began in 1940, 76 years from now and still producing. Whereas looney tune started in 1930 and ended in 1969, so it has been 86 years since created but was around for 39 years. Both these shows are made by the same company the warner brothers. Also these shows are funny and bring a smile to people around the world.
Many authors try to capture the seriousness of being homeless. The similarities between Fly Away Home, and the poem "The First" are pronounced and deserve thorough investigation. This problem should not be ignored, as it is a serious problem though out the world. The authors are reminding us how important it is to help people in that situation.

Artwork can be seen everywhere, and it is not restricted to just a museum or a theatre. It is found in the way a person dresses, the design of houses, or graffiti on buildings. The human mind, however, is even more common, with the seven billion people in this world that have it. The mind is unique to each individual and assists in the development of a distinctive human being. Similarly, there has never been two works of art that completely resemble one another throughout history. One of the main components of most admired artwork is originality, for the reason that people appreciate work that is different from others. For example, films such as Toy Story, The Matrix, and Avatar were critically acclaimed for their innovative concepts that were never seen
I watched the film Avatar directed by James Cameron. The main actors in the movie are Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver. Set on the planet Pandora, Avatar is a sci-fi story of a mercenary-backed corporation’s attempt to steal and mine the land where humanoid aliens known as the Na’vi live.
