Holistic Marketing Concept
Introduction
A Holistic marketing strategy is developed by thinking about the business as a whole, the business place in the economy and society, and in the lives of its customers. The concept attempts to develop and maintain multiple perspectives on the company’s commercial activities (Business Dictionary, 2014). In today’s technology induced business world, marketers have to think beyond the older marketing concepts which are production concept, product concept, and selling concept. This paper will compare and contrast the earlier concepts with the holistic concept and give an example of a company that has adopted the holistic marketing approach and why they chose to do so.

Apple depends on building a better product and in turn, the product itself leads people to purchase from Apple. However, new or improved products will not necessarily be successful unless they are priced, distributed, advertised, and sold properly (Kotler & Keller, 2012). The two companies have revolutionized the concept of being innovative and novel. The creations of Apple and Samsung have penetrated our minds with products that make our daily tasks simpler. People don’t need to pick up a paper from a local cafe to catch up on world news. Families don’t need to rely on postal service in order to communicate to their loved ones overseas. Students don’t always feel the need to ask questions, because now all the answers lie right in the palms of their hands. For generations Apple and Samsung have been creating products that our society demands.

The purpose of this section of this report is to define the marketing concept; to explain what it means to be a market-orientated organisation; and to show that Tesco’s appear to be a successful, market-orientated company. To understand how the business model correlates with the product marketing, need to see if there is any evident cause-effect relationship between product characteristics and the nature of the product company. If such correlation exists, it will be important to see the transition of such characteristics into the company marketing strategy. It can show how company’s strategies can be successfully addressed in a real-world scenario.
