Comparing Fascism and Nazism
Fascism and Nazism both come from the same part of the world. Which can led to misunderstanding on what is going on in the world. Fascism and Nazism are a substantial topic to talk about, but they are different and the same in many ways. Its important for people to understand the similarities and differences they have in our world. The roots of fascism started after World War I in 1914. In Europe government became successful in national industrial in the late nineteenth century. Not every class benefited the European government, but the middle class benefited from the government then anyone else. This led consecrations to the nations in ethnic terms, the rise of nationalism as to others allowed for the emergence

The major element of ideology was to believe in global war, which led to defeat Italy and Germany and the end for Fascist era for good. Fascism had success to reshaped Italy and how the outcome of everything wasn 't what they accepted. The fascist ideology had a lot of worldwide damaged and millions of lives were taken. If the world thinks about it if Fascism stayed in its own state then all this damaged and people’s lives wouldn’t of happened. If that happen then the world wouldn’t of had the outcomes that it did have in our world today. Nazism had success by creating improving economy and social conditions for the upper classes, but only a huge humanitarian cost was the German society. The Aftermath of the war from the German people was mainly the hatred they had for other countries. Hitler’s main focus was greatness and glory. Hitler and Mussolini both brain washed their countries to thinking that whatever they said was right. They both were very good at speeches and using the media for the people to believe their words …show more content…
At a young age the children were being brainwashed about how the Jew didn 't fit in there society anymore. The children were thought to make fun of the children that were Jewish and make them feel unwelcome everywhere they went (Violence, 2006). The Jews had a long road ahead of them in the beginning of 1933. The Jews them selves didn’t belong anywhere in Europe. More likely anyone and anything come in and destroy what they had and what they made, and it over in just a flash. Everyone blame the Jews for losing World War I, so in a way that was the start of the discrimination against the Jews. In 1933 when Hitler came into power it wasn’t until eight years later, did the Nazis actually started killing the Jews. A lot of people think that when Hitler became to power that he just started killing all of them off, but he were didn’t. Their three main turning points in the Jews life One- Hitler came to power; most Jews were removed in the German civil services. Two- In September 1935 the Nuremberg laws were enacted. Which met that if you were a Jew and had a relationship was a non-Jew wasn 't allowed anymore. Third- the Nazis started to burn down all of the Jews synagogues and local stores own by any Jews. Sooner or later millions of Jews were sent to the camps, to work hard labor and millions of them died
They are in a different time period with different weapons and abilities(Britannica). ISIS is a cult and doesn't have the best available army and weapons. However, the Nazis were a super power in their time. The Nazis tried to take over Europe and eventually the world. ISIS is looking to fight a religious war. The Nazis hated the Jews but the main reason for them fighting was not about religion it was about power. ISIS is the opposite of this. Another difference between the two is modern technology. ISIS has used social media to recruit and scare people into joining them(Luckert). The Nazis didn't have that so they had to pressure people to join them or be killed. ISIS is also located in the middle east where there is oil everywhere and money can be made off of that. The Nazis were located in Europe and didn’t have this asset. The Nazis focused on killing Jews and winning the war. ISIS take a different approach and use small attacks on innocent people in order to scare everyone. The nazis were very secretive on them killing their Jewish prisoners. On the other hand, ISIS is glad to broadcast executions of their enemies. These differences don't take away the fact that ISIS and the Nazis are both terrible thing that have happened to the
To understand the Holocaust you need to understand six words, definition, expropriation, einsatzgruppen, concentration, deportation, and death camps. The Germans define the Jews biologically based on religion of their grandparents. When the regime came to power in January 1933 part of the Nazi movement wanted to out rid or Jews overnight, what they did was they began to legislate against the Jews and rapidly the Jews were kick out not only in civil service but also in education, universities, teachers lawyers and doctors. The Jews became something that was not needed. The climax of this early period of legislation was the Nuremberg laws. The laws were there to determine officially citizenship in Germany, however the only definition that were given who is a citizen were definition for who was not a citizen and the only people define as not citizen of Germany were the Jews. In other time in history Jews could convert, they could hide themselves by assimilating within the host country. However under racial theory during the Nazi period Jews were Jews because of the blood that was coursing thought their veins. So the ultimate theory was that if you wanted to get rids of Jews that you couldn’t do it through conversion or any other way then to murder them.
In conclusion, Fascism was successful after WWI because the people no longer had their sense of nationalism, did not have a stable economy, and overall felt defeated. Someone came along in Germany and Italy and promised the downtrodden that they would no longer feel this way, and that their country would again prosper. The people were susceptible to this because of how low they felt. They found the leaders they desperately hoped for and never for a second challenged their motives.
The life of a child in the 1930-1940 was not an easy life not if you were a Nazi, not if you were Jewish. These Children lost their childhood because of a war. Their shattered childhood creates stories that seem horrific to us today. Life as a child growing up in a Nazi family is probably easier than dealing with the problems that the Jewish children have. However, every Nazi child had to sign up for the Hitler Youth. The Hitler Youth was an organization to discipline young minds and preach to them about anti semitism. Hitler Youth was one of the largest youth groups in Europe at the time if parents did not have their children in it they would face fines or have charges of imprisonment. The Nazi regime brainwashed the kids, they made them aggressive and intolerable. In the group there was even a small ‘Gestapo’ that would make sure all the children were doing the correct task if not the ‘Gestapo’ would report this. This shows how much power the children were given. During the 1940s more boys were recruited to join the army or guard concentration camps and ghettos. When the allied forces surrounded Germany the Nazi’s decided everyone of he age of fifteen and above would have to fight the war. They would be given rigorous training,
After The Great depression and World War I, Germany was left in a fragile state. The economy was ruined, many people were unemployed and all hope was lost. The Nazis believed it wasn’t their own fault for the mess, but those who were inferior to the German people. These Nazi beliefs lead to and resulted in cruelty and suffering for the Jewish people. The Nazis wanted to purify Germany and put an end to all the inferior races, including Jews because they considered them a race. They set up concentration camps, where Jews and other inferior races were put into hard labor and murdered. They did this because Nazis believed that they were the only ones that belonged in Germany because they were pure Germans. This is the beginning of World War 2. The Nazi beliefs that led to and resulted in the cruelty and suffering of the Jewish people
About culture, to keep people under control, they threatened, censored them to have to support only Fascism policies. All above is some representative characters of fascism. One obvious difference is the very first intention – Hitler's Nazi wanted to avenge what the world done to them after the World War I,... ... middle of paper ... ... somehow, were one of the cause that lead to World War II.
Firstly I will look at some of the effects of fascism, starting with one of the most devastating tragedies the world has witnessed, the holocaust. It is not known who first proposed the term holocaust, but we can draw assumptions as to why it was adopted. The Jewish community are likely to have adopted this name in order to distinguish it from what unfortunately, become the routine cases of war crimes and genocide. When we look at the figures of deaths in the holocaust, we do not even need to examine the way in which many of the victims died, to understand just how horrific the effects of fascism had been.
The Holocaust occurred over an extended period of time, causing irreversible physical and mental abuse. It happened over many years as part of a deliberate step by step process masterminded by Hitler. One of the first things that people began to see and eventually believe was propaganda. The idea of propaganda was to get people to believe something by showing illustrations that share ideas. Generally those ideas were negative or misleading, and if someone is exposed to propaganda enough, then they are more likely to begin to believe it. Hitler knew that using propaganda would be a way to influence the people of Germany into believing that Jews were horrible and needed to die. Hitler’s mean tactics not only diminished the Jews, but also kept people in fear of their life and lives of their loved ones and therefore ready to obey his rules. When people are scared for their lives… they will do crazy things. According to A Teacher’s Guide to the Holocaust “Propaganda relies on emotion rather than on logic, concentrates on a few points which are presented in simple terms, and then hammers those points ...
The Jewish people were targeted, hunted, tortured, and killed, just for being Jewish, Hitler came to office on January 20, 1933; he believed that the German race had superiority over the Jews in Germany. The Jewish peoples’ lives were destroyed; they were treated inhumanly for the next 12 years, “Between 1933 and 1945, more than 11 million men, women, and children were murdered in the Holocaust. Approximately six million of these were Jews” (Levy). Hitler blamed a lot of the problems on the Jewish people, being a great orator Hitler got the support from Germany, killing off millions of Jews and other people, the German people thought it was the right thing to do. “To the anti-Semitic Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, Jews were an inferior race, an alien threat to German racial purity and community” (History.com Staff).
The Nazi ideology was like The Wave Ideology in a few aspects. Supporters of both were superior and united. The Nazi and Wave ideology was different in the aspect that everyone should be equal as wave members and that anyone could join. Nazis ideology was that one race was superior to all others and that Jews were bad.
Fascism is defined as, “an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.” Peter Hyland reports that throughout the 1920s and the 1930s, an economic depression was growing and becoming widespread throughout the world. People were losing faith in their democracies and in capitalism. Leaders who gained power supported powerful militarism, nationalism, and initiated the return of an authoritarian rule. J.R. Oppenheimer says that the rise of fascism and totalitarianism in Europe and Russia instigated a “critical step on the path to war.” In 1922, Benito Mussolini held leadership in Italy, promising a proficient and militaristic nationalistic state. During his control as prime minister, he gained a large group of followers, banned the disparagement of government, and used extreme violence against his enemies within the parliament.
“While imprisoned, Hitler wrote, “My Struggle,” where he foretold the war that would lead to the death of many Jews.” (The Holocaust) The Jews were used as scapegoats by the Germans. They were treated terribly and lived in very poor conditions. Many of the Jewish children were put into homes, therefore having better chances of hiding.
Hitler came to power in Germany in 1933, after World War 1 when tensions were high because the Treaty of Versailles blamed Germany for the destruction the war caused and they were faced with the payment for all the damages, which sent Germany into economic downfall. The Nazi party got a lot of electoral votes that year in the government, and started creating propaganda against the Jews; they blamed the Jews for the terrible things happening in Germany at the time. Some of the propaganda the Nazi party made were pictures of Jews pointing out what makes them Jewish and their distinctive traits, so you can spot them. These were on the front of newspapers printed everywhere in Germany. (An Introductory History of the Holocaust) They began to take away individual rights, and picked the Jews apart. They also put the Star of David on all Jews clothing, so they could easily be spotted in public.
The obsession with Nazis comes the idea that they represent the idea that humans are susceptible to a certain psychology whether it be group think or an in-group/outgroup bias. I partially agree with Evans however I do not believe that “Third Reich represents racism in its most extreme form”. Unlike other marginalized groups the Jewish community has exceptionally thrived because they will not let others forget and maintained a strong foothold and make their history a necessity to know and understand. Evans makes a valid point on the timing of when the Nazis came to power. In the past when I thought of mass murder I thought of medieval times on a less” enlightened” society. He brings up the sophistication and cultured aspect of Europe and how
The Nazis took a more complex toll to the education system, using it to their advantage on practicing the use of propaganda and allowing it to become a major tool to spread the Nazis’ racial policies. This education system took lots of attention and effort from Hitler and the Nazi Party. They focused on the German youth because Hitler believed that the children had the power and set a goal to create pure Aryan men only so that they won’t be defeated in the next major European war. They changed the ways of learning in school and developed youth groups such as the Hitler Youth. These changes vastly affected the lifestyle of Germans. The success of these youth movements were promoted by indoctrination. Hitler believed that all these changes would influence people to support him. It seems as if the...
