There were islamics that got on airplanes, including United Airlines Flight 93, American Airlines Flight 11, American Airlines Flight 77, and United Airlines 175 and hijacked them because they wanted to carry out suicidal attacks on targets that they already planned. The group targeting the world trade center was al-Qaeda, an islamic extremist terrorist system started by Osama bin Laden. On September 11, 2001, four planes were headed for California when they were hijacked by members of al Qaeda. Nineteen terrorists took knives onto the planes and took control over them shortly after they departed into the air. The first flight was an American Airlines Boeing 767 leaving from Boston. There were 4 men that hijacked the planes, but 19 men took part in all of it.

On Flight 11, the call for help was cut off because the plane was getting too low. Before the planes crashed, fighter jets were sent out to track and hijacked planes and shoot them down if they have to. The first plane to crash is Flight 11, which was into the north tower. It crashed from floors 93-99, killing everyone on board and hundreds inside the building. When President George W. Bush is at an elementary school in Florida, the White House chief alerts the president that a second plane has crashed into the second building, but he just stays there for a few more minutes until it is time for him to go.
