Helping to publicise the production When writing a script or editing a script the director should think about four steps for every line written. These step include. 1. Feeling- How will this make the audience feel, try to get the audiences emotions alert. 2. Thought- What will the audience interpret from this line and how will it create the storyline. 3. Action- What action is happening during this line, what actions could happen and how would this enhance the performance. 4. Words- Is this how this character would speak or is the line to difficult to say, does it make sense and how will this line increase the depth in the performance. Five of the most important jobs for a director would

“I feel fine, I don’t care who the director is. All you have to do is know what your doing – all of us – everybody in the business – that’s all you ask anyone – you know your job, I know mine, let’s go do it.” – Morgan Freeman
Aesthetic, that is one of the main concerns of most people these days. How a certain thing appeals to the human eye. Font as well as it placement have been a major focal point for marketing. My interest in art itself, drives my interest in becoming an Art Director. Art directors specialize in making these things appealing to see. Art directors are responsible for the visual style and images in magazines, newspapers, product packaging, and movie and television productions. Art directors basically sit as the head of artistic production of a company but this does not come without some previous experience in the artistic process for the company.Art directors need at least a bachelor’s degree in an art or design subject and previous work experience may have worked as graphic designers, illustrators, copy editors, or photographers, or in another art or design occupation before becoming art directors.
When someone goes to watch a play, they are usually focused around the actors. Never really reminding them or thinking about all the other jobs and efforts that are used to put together his production. It is often looked past, that the whole play was thought up by a director. What they are watching was something that a director had to envision. The director is the boss of the play. They are physically directing what the actors and actresses need to do. But being a theatre director is not just about telling actors what to do during scenes. Being a theatre director means having a vision and something unique that you have to say. But instead of talking or writing what you have to say, you make a visual reference that actually shows and plays out emotions of what you are trying to say. An old high school drama teacher states, “Being a director means trying to control what is, at times, uncontrollable. It’s like trying to coordinate something that is next to impossible, but when you do it right, there’s no better feelings.”(Gratzer 2014). Being a good theatre director is kind of a mix of a poet and a general. You have to be part poet so you can have the unique message which you are trying to tell through emotions and sight. But you have to have the mix with a general because you have to tell your actors what to do, how to do it, and unite them to make them get your message out as clear as possible. Also having enough perseverance and patience to make sure that this long-term project will be seen all the through. “Being a Director requires great creative vision, dedication and commitment. Directors are ultimately responsible for .. success or failure." (http://www.creativeskillset.org/) Directing a play has three main phases, the fir...
A crew includes a screenwriter, whose job it is to provide the written blueprint version of the entire film. This is basically the starting point for any movie. Next there is the producer. There are many types of producers; executive producers, co-producers, assistant producers and line producers. They all do very different things. Some are the producers are responsible for raising the funds for the movie while others are responsible for the production that goes on during the filming of the movie and still other producers are in charge of what physically goes on the set. Then it is time for the director. The director is in charge of the actors. The director works with the actors to visually bring to life what was written on the screenplay (Fortunato, Who Does What on a Film). Now the idea needs to come together. The idea of writing, “what you know” is not always true and writing, “what you come to know” is in fact a more accurate way to write. Other good ways to formulate ideas are to use existing plays, novels, short stories, life stories, new articles, or even past TV shows and film. When using existing work a person needs to make sure that one secures the copyrights before starting write. Securing the copyrights does not mean one is finished yet. Now a person needs...
For this film, I took on the role of the director. I selected the cast for the film, directed rehearsals and the performances, worked with the camera, sound, lighting design and effects and worked with the editor to produce the finished film. I also kept the cast and crew encouraged, and worked to keep to our time schedule. The audience is greatly affected by my decisions as I, as the director, have the vision of what the film is going to be like and the final say or a helping hand in most of what happens on set, costume, cinematography, editing and sound.
Q6: Throughout the film situations of conflict tend to arise, how do you portray the feelings of the characters?
In the film industry, it takes a collaborative effort of talented individuals to create a successful film. The one that essentially is the leader from start to finish is the producer. Linda Cahir states in chapter three of Literature into Film that the producer has the most influence to help shape the artistic values and moral principles of the film (Cahir). In the following paragraphs, I will discuss the role of a film producer, how this is different than a film director’s role and what it takes to be the best.
All actors should be aware of how pivotal casting directors are to getting work in the theatre, film, and television business. Casting directors are your first friend when an actor is looking for work, the casting directors are scouting for fresh new talent that they could possibly cast in their upcoming projects that they are casting at the time. Usually casting directors are hired by television studios, networks, production companies, and producers of Broadway shows to provide actors for considering parts. Daniel Pruksarnukul the artistic associate and casting director for Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. for nine seasons shared with me his journey of working in the business and how he worked his way up to different positions, such as the artistic director at Arena Stage which had him responsible for casting all of the 8 mainstage shows along with dozens of play reading and workshops and also as the artistic associate Dan was in charge of season planning and scouting both locally in D.C. and nationally around the country for shows to

Theatre teaches time management. Actors and crew have to be on time for rehearsal. The director is not going to baby them and constantly remind them of the time they need to be at the theatre. They need to know this information once it is given to them. If the director has a schedule, it is then important for the actors and the crew to inform the director of any scheduling conflicts and to know how to handle time to memorize any lines or cues that need memorizing.
Well Film budgeting refers to the process by which a line producer, unit production manager, or filmmaker prepares a budget for a film production. A budget is typically divided into four sections: above the line (creative talent), below the line (direct production costs), post-production (editing, visual effects, etc.), and other (insurance, completion bond, etc.) Film financing can be acquired from a private investor, sponsor, product placement, film studio, Entertainment Company or out-of-pocket funds. Elements playing important role in budgeting sequentially includes story rights, screenplay, producers, directors, cast, production cost, visual effects and music. Firstly The right to produce a film based on a play, novel, musical or video game, or as a remake or sequel can cost anything from a couple of thousand to over $10 million. Then an A-list screenwriter may be paid in between $100,000 to $2 million to write a script. After that film producers and executive producers are often well-paid, with a top producer earning a seven-figure salary upfront as well as bonuses and a share of the profits. Then the director is paid about $16,800 per week, for a minimum
Before any physical shooting can take place, a series of preparation steps must occur to ready the production crew and actors alike. The beginning of any film starts with the story, much like a novel. Instead of words in a book, however, a script serves as the backbone of the film, containing all of the characters, settings, and action that takes place in the story. The script’s story will comprise of a conflict posed at the main character, a goal for that main character, and some sort of resolution. The elements of storytelling generally stay the same for scripts; the format for writing the script accounts for largest difference to that of a regular novel. Instead of ...
