FINAL REPORT Putta, Vinod Kumar 700631506 Employer Details Employer – GlobalClick LLC Contact Person – Pawan Madhineni Contact Number – (720) 530 – 4404 The client I am working for is Comcast. Its office is in Denver, Colorado. It has three line of businesses. They are Comcast TV, Comcast internet and Comcast telephone. There are various projects running in those line of businesses. My current project comes under Comcast TV. In this the current running project under the video project is Video On Demand which is referred to as VOD project in generally. These includes the data of various TV shows, movies, Documentaries etc. The database used for by the Comcast is Oracle. Here we are using the latest version of Oracle that is Oracle 11g EE (Express Edition). IN this the latest upgrade is Oracle 11.1.1.7. The software or reporting tool used for the project is Oracle Business Intelligence EE (Express Edition) which is usually referred as OBIEE. The version is as the database that is OBIEE 11.1.1.7. My employer is GlobalClick LLC. The office is located at centennial, Colorado. The project has various stages like requirement gathering, Analysis, Developing the requirements, Testing and Production. My role is to import the database metadata and create reports and dashboards according to the requirement. Here …show more content…
we follow agile methodology. The scrum master specifies the particular time about when the meaningful portion of the project is to be delivered. This portion of the work will be tested by the testing team and then deployed into the production. My work should be done in the development environment. Below picture represents how an RPD looks like. This is where the three layers presentation layer, Business Model Mapping layer and the Physical layer can be seen. Below show is the RPD created by me. RPD (Repository): Physical Layer: This is where the metadata is imported from the Oracle database. A connection should be established with the TNS entry using the connection pool for particular project. The below screenshot shows how a connection pool window looks like. Connection pool is used to establish a connection between the physical tables and the Oracle database used for data. I established the below shown connection between the database and the VOD_EST project. Here VOD_EST represents Video On Demand and in that the project is Electronic Sell Through. Connection Pool: Creating aliases for physical tables: After successfully establishing the connection using the connection pool the typical physical layer tables called as physical tables should be created with aliases. This can be done by selecting the physical tableRight ClickSelect Create Aliases. The screen shot shows physical layer and its tables for my project. In the below picture we can see two types of icons for the physical tables. The first half or the first kind represents the aliases tables whereas the rest of the tables represents the original tables from the database. BMM Layer (Business Model and Mapping): The below picture represents the BMM layer for the VOD_EST project.
Here various operations should be performed. Drag and drop physical aliases tables from the physical layer. By doing this the aliases tables will be imported to the BMM layer. This can also be done by doing some operations in the logical layer itself. Later on, create logical joins and hierarchies between the tables in the logical layer. The tables in this layer are referred as logical tables. In the below screenshot the icons with the three dimensional arrows are the Hierarchies created for the logical tables Asset, Calendar, STB (Set Top Box) Type, VOD Mode and the VOD Site
Reference. Time Series Functions: I was supposed to create a Column with the Time Series Function called Revenue year Ago in order to include a column which determines the revenue created by particular assert like Movie, TV show etc., a year before. In order to do that I need to access the Time Series Function Ago. The below windows are the expression builders where the ago function can be created. In the first screenshot the option called “derived from existing columns using an expression” is used to create the pre derived functions. Click on the icon next to it to open the second window shown below in the second picture. This is where the Ago function is created. Presentation Layer: The below picture shows Answers/Analytics: Creating Reports: Create dashboards: This work further includes the background SQL code enhancing. This is called as the Optimization of code. For every operation we do using the tool in the environment, the software writes the respective SQL code by itself. When the environment runs slow or the SQL queries run slow we need to check the back ground SQL code and optimize the code. Below is the code optimized by me. Wells Fargo account fraud scandal One of the most recent white-collar crimes involved Wells Fargo, a banking and financial services provider. In 2016, San Francisco-based bank Wells Fargo (WFC) employees secretly created millions of unauthorized bank and credit card accounts without permission of their customers. Opening about 1.5 million fraudulent deposit accounts and submitting 565,443 credit card applications allowed Wells Fargo employees to boost their sales targets and receive bonuses. Consequently, customers were wrongly charged fees for accounts they did not know existed. In this business crime scenario, Wells Fargo is involved in paying $185 million in fines and refunding $5 million to affected customers.

...FO at the Houston airport. While Mr. Fastow's parents were undergoing a random search, he stopped to chat with Mr. Schwieger. "I never got an opportunity to explain the partnerships to you," he said, according to Mr. Schwieger. Mr. Schwieger replied, "With everything that has come to light, I probably wouldn't like the answer I would have gotten."
Corruption is an individual and institutional process where there is a gain by a public official from a briber and in return receives a service. Between the gain and the service, there is an improper connection, (Thompson p.28). The two major categories of bribery is individual and institutional corruption. Receiving personal goods for the pursuit of one’s own benefit is personal fraud. An example of individual distortion is the financial scandal involving David Durenberger. Organizational corruption involves “receiving goods that are useable primarily in the political process and are necessary for doing a job or are essential by-products of doing it,” (Thompson p.30). An instance of institutional fraud is the Keating Five case. There are also times where there is a mixture of both individual and organizational corruption in a scandal. An example of this diverse combination is James C. Wright Jr. actions while he was the Speaker of the House.
The first part has a list of outdated software, legacy system. They are commonly referred to by their names such as MAS, SQL, Adhoc and other slight variations. What makes our project complex is that the systems are not operating on the same level. Some keep only our transactions and the other systems contain financial data that is booked for record. To transform all that into one system requires understanding the design of the legacy systems. Unfortunately, some of the design is not intuitive but after going through iterations of mathematical formula, you can validate some of the data. The second part called “proposed” has a list of the newer software that can be a one stop place for all data. When the project ends, the sections in the table above will be available in

The Scandal at Penn State, lead to the arrests of Jerry Sandusky a defensive coordinator for the University. A grand jury on November 4, 2011, stated that for 15 years Mr. Sandusky sexually abused eight young boys. During that time frame, the official at the university deliberately failed to notify law enforcement of these incidents. Within a matter of a month, the number of victims begins to increase up to a total of 10. Within a year, Mr. Sandusky was found guilty in 2012. During his career at Penn State, he establishes a group home for troubled boys, which eventually became a non-profit organization known as The Second Mile. His purpose was to inspire young trouble boys to tap into their potential and achieve (2017). He captured the trust
Management practices are highly followed in today’s workplace and for good reason since evidence suggests successful companies follow these strict practices. Regulating employees through a program that is setup to promote success is what the five management practices are about. Discussed will be the management practices of planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling and how they relate to the corporate environment of Comcast Corporation through my personal experience.
Milton Friedman’s view is that in a capitalist economy, there is one and only one responsibility of business: to use its resources and engage in activities designed to increase its profits. Business does not have a social responsibility to promote desirable social ends. A corporation is an artificial person. The corporate executive is the agent of the individuals who own the business and their main responsibility is to them. The directors of companies have a fiduciary responsibility to act in the best interest of the shareholders. The managers are agents of the shareholders and therefore have a moral obligation to manage the firm in the interest of the shareholders, which obviously is to make as much money as possible and maximize shareholder wealth. The shareholders are the owners of the organization and therefore the profits belong to them. In conclusion, Friedman believes that business is to maximize profits. He suggested a healthy corporation has to be not only ethically good, but also being economically good. Overall, as he stated in the article, business must gain profit without break the rules of game (D. Murphy, Class Lecture, January 17, 2014)
How many shows on television do you know that offer a guilt-free antihero as its protagonist? Well, I certainly cannot think of many, and I believe that is the inaugural case as to why NBC’s The Blacklist has been this Fall’s number one show. The idea behind it is that an ingenious, criminal mastermind for some apparent reason starts to assist the FBI catch the world’s most wanted criminals, some of which they did not know existed. Although I am already a fan of the show, I do think that The Blacklist does borrow much of its premise from USA’s White Collar. I feel Andy Greenwald describes the show best when he says, “It’s a cop procedural with a criminal as the lead investigator.”
In this paper I will identify and analyze the Wells Fargo scandal as it pertains to the breakdown of leadership and ethics. I will first identify and analyze the event and discuss the challenges and conflicts the scandal presented. Then I will evaluate the issue by explaining why the issue has interest and concern to stakeholders followed by discussing the challenges presented to individuals and/or organizations around this case. Lastly, I will recommend action steps that should be taken to those involved as well as discuss what I have learned from exploring this topic.
By 2001 the telecommunications market was softening; meaning prices were falling due to an excess of supply and a decrease in demand as the dot com boom ended. WorldCom had already signed contracts with third party telecommunication companies promising to complete their calls. These multi billion dollar contracts were actually costing more in expenses than what the company would or was receiving in revenue (Sandberg, Solomon, & Blumenstein, 2002).
Controversial relationships between the client and implementation partner stop from the fact that the client feels that the implemented ERP solution does not cater to their business needs depending on the documented scope, and the end users cannot perform all these tasks that were implemented within the legacy systems without difficulty
The first and most crucial step is to create a solid plan. Plan should include the techniques, tools and data that are going to used in the project. The responsibilities of all the members should be distributed at this step. The utilization of resources and budgeting of the project should be done here. Management tools such as probability and Impact Matrix, FMEA are useful at this point.
