William James once said, “Our greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.” As a high school senior, this quote makes me look into what makes me stressed. Classes, grades, and college are the top three stressors in my life. These three choices do not have to make me stressed, but I choose for them to stress me out. A high school senior is defined as a person in their final year of public or private school. Being a senior can be one of the greatest times in life, but it does come with its own stress. Ever since I was a high school freshman, I knew that I wanted to graduate with honors. Graduating with honors comes with its own stress. I have to take all the required classes for each grade and take the extra classes that are part of the Sidney High School Honors Program. Now as a senior, I stress about whether or not I have taken the honors classes. After I graduate, I know the stress of making sure I have those classes done and over with will decline. Without the stress of worrying about honors classes, I will be able to worry about other things in my life. …show more content…

Most students go through high school by saying they do not care what grade they get in the class, as long as they pass they are happy. With my all my heart and soul, I can not go through high school like that. I have been a straight “A” student since I was a kindergartener. As I went through school, my grades became everything to me. I had to have “A”s so I could be happy. Now that I am in my senior year of high school, my grades have become everything and it is stressful. Senior year grades may not matter too much, but they do matter to me. My grades will always mean everything to me and until I am out of school, they will stress me
