Instead of just staring at me tonight, she grabbed my hand and the skin under hers started to burn. “Get off me!” I shrieked. I bolted straight up in my bed screaming for her to stop when I realized it was just a another nightmare. I wiped off the bead of sweat on my forehead as I ran my hand through my tangled hair. The burning sensation was still stinging me on the backside of my wrist I looked down at my wrist to see what was bothering me. A strange yet beautiful marking marked my wrist with small little letters under it. Dismissing the mark I got up to get ready for school even though I dreaded it. I use to be happy to get ready for school, I use to be the at the top of the food chain but my father’s death changed that. Before I …show more content…
could stop it, another flashback took a hold of me. I said goodbye to the last of my cheer mates as I walked over to my dad’s car. He greeted me with a loving smile as I slid into the passenger seat next to him. My dad, Eros Ambrosia was an world famous actor but not the snobby, rude, and stuck up actors, he was actually a caring father. We went on the interstate, Just as he was cracking another joke, a force hit us with so much impact that I hit my head on the dashboard and dark spots started to dot my vision as glass went flying through the air. As if everything was in slow motion my dad flew through the windshield, he always wanted to fly, but not to his death I thought bitterly. I shaked the flashback off like every other one. I got ready and looked at myself in the mirror, I looked okay with my piercing blue eyes, bronze skin and curly black hair. I nodded at myself in approvement and started to get going for school. My mom use to be here everyday until my father’s death. She started to become a workaholic and was rarely home so I practically raised myself since his death. She later killed herself because she was weak. I curled my lip in disgust and walked outside and got into my car just as my wrist started to burn again and a nearby garbage can crumpled to dust. I stared at it in bewilderment and dismissed it and drove to school. I parked my car and pulled up my hoodie to shield my face from my schoolmates. Just as I thought I was going to get into the school swiftly my best friend Annabeth jumped me from the behind.Honestly she's the only thing that keeps me going in life. “I missed you Athena!” She squealed in delight. “I missed you to Annabeth.” I sighed just as the minute bell rang throughout the school.
I cursed under my breath and grabbed Annabeth and dashed through the hallway to get to our advisory. I opened the door just as the tardy bell rang and sighed in relief.I slid into the seat next to Annabeth just as the announcements started. I zoned out until our principal yelled through the intercom ,“ We are going into a code-red lockdown, we have a break in!” My teacher Mrs.Wilcox quickly got up and said urgently, “ Everyone go into the corner and be quiet.” She locked the door and scurried to join us in the corner. We sat deadly silent just as we heard keys jingling in the keyhole. We all stared at door fearfully just as the lock opened with a pop. A masked boy and man strolled into the room carrying big guns that swinged lazily by their sides. The boy cleared his throat, and said ,” Athena Adrianna Ambrosia rise up or,” his unusual colored eyes lit up mischievously ,” I’ll shoot.” I wobbly stood up trembling in fear. He strolled to me and grabbed my arm and started to drag me to the door while I struggled and pleaded for him to let go of me. He took me out of my classroom and exited the school with the masked man right at our heals. He paused and took something out of his pocket and whispered “Sorry ‘bout this.” He then plunged a syringe into the side of my neck and plunged whatever was in it into my bloodstream. My sight started to cloud and the last thing I saw before …show more content…
I blacked out was the beautiful now unmasked boy. My eyelids fluttered open and natural light blinded me.
I groaned and held my head because of my pounding headache. That’s when the day's events came rushing back to me. My eyes adjusted as a maid scurried into my room with a tray of food and laid it next to me and hurried out of my door. I grabbed the tray as I realize how hungry I really was. I munched on some french toast and studied the room I was in. It had 4 large glass windows and it was painted a midnight blue with furniture. I shoveled the rest of the food into my mouth and drank some milk, when a beautiful boy opened the door. In a gruff voice he said “ Follow me.”Who does he think he is for kidnapping us then telling us what to do? A voice in my head said. I felt the crazy anger that I long ago stored a way. I let the very well known darkness take over. “What’s happening to me.” I said while tugging at my hair.Without me knowing the boy grabbed my hand tugging me too the
door. “Mr.Starr wants to talk to you,” he said said in his low voice. I nodded my head curtly not wanting to talk to my kidnappers..I stopped walking wanting to be difficult. I heard him audibly sigh and, he stopped walking and effortlessly threw me over his shoulder. I struggled against him until he stopped walking and dropped me on the floor. I was still seething as he opened a door. “Mr.Starr will speak to you soon.” “Whatever.” I glanced around at the arena, it was as big as a football field. I looked at one of the walls which was decorated beautiful with the elements of earth, water, fire, and air, at the edge of the wall it looked like tendrils of darkness was creeping towards the elements. I looked
I. Intro. - Imagine you are sitting home one night with nothing to do. Your parents have gone away for the weekend and there is absolutely no one around. So you sit around that night watching TV for awhile but find nothing on worth watching. You go on upstairs to your room and get ready for bed. Turn off the lights, lay down, and close your eyes. All of a sudden you here a crash of glass in your kitchen. You rush to your feet and put your ear to the door listening to what’s going on downstairs. You begin to hear the voice of two men as they start going through the living room, making their way to the stairs, right outside your room. What do you do? You aren’t going to confront them since its just you—remember you thought you heard two of them right? Well you are really stuck in your room and all you can do is sit there hoping that they leave soon and don’t harm you. Now if it were at my house things would be a little bit different. For starters I would get out my shotgun from my closet and begin to see what is gin on down stairs.
She heard shuffling behind her, and all of a sudden she was flying through the air and it all went black. Little did they know I was watching the whole time. What do I have to do with this situation, you ask? Well, I am in charge of this scheme after all. I start laughing out loud to make my presence known. “What did I tell you Alvah?” I asked, a deadly smirk had plastered itself onto my face. “I told you to bring the girl to me,” I started, running towards his frightened face. “I told you to bring her to me, not kill her. That was my job!” I shouted, grabbing his neck. “T-T-Thánatos,” he stuttered, struggling to get out of my grip. I drop him to his feet and take off my glove. He stumbled, trying to regain his balance. He stared me right in the face and touched my hand, he then turned to dust. “Death! My name is Death!” I smirked, then vanished into the night, seeking my next victim who dares to go into the forbidden library, and makes preposterous deals with the
I could see the fear in her eye, and could feel the pain in her trembling hands. I could sense her discomfort when she talked about the night. I had never known, and never would have guessed, that something happened to her at a party with kids I knew from my school. She told me first. She only told me. She spoke to me about how she can not be in a room with a stranger, or how she feels that part of her died that night. She explained that hugs didn’t feel good anymore, they felt intrusive. She explained that she won’t stay in a room with a male teacher if the other students leave. Every part of her life, she explained, has been changed. She wasn’t the same girl anymore, and she blamed herself for it. Even contemplating suicide, like many victims often do, seemed better than living with the memories. She was too afraid to talk to her parents, because she had drank a little the night of the incident; and too afraid to tell her friends, because they thought that the guy was cool. She didn’t trust anyone anymore, not even her old best guy friends. She had known him; they had been friends in junior high. She knew him…
Where are you?” There was no sign of my mom. I looked around and saw an old grandma sitting on a bench. I ran to her and asked, “Have you seen my mommy anywhere?” She looked at me and didn’t say a word. I got more scared so, I ran away from her. I continued running until I suddenly tripped over a rock which was sitting in the middle of the dirt road. I rolled down the road and saw blood was dripping from my forehead and a bruise on my left leg. Suddenly a huge crowd gathered around me. Everyone stared at me and started whispering about me. “Who is he?” “Why is he sitting here?” Looking at the people, tears ran off my eyes. In nervousness I folded my legs and put my arms around my legs. Later on, a person in black clothes armored tapped on my shoulder and asked me softly, “Hey there little fellow, why you crying?” I looked in his eyes and cried, “I lost my mom in this bazaar and I can’t find her.” He quietly said, “I’m a police officer and I can help you find her”. I then remembered what my mom told me earlier about police. I whipped my tears and nodded my head. I grabbed his hand and he took me around the bazaar. He asked everyone if they know who I am, however, no one knew
There was no doubt in my mind someone had been staring at me. My room stood still as shadows from passing cars danced across my walls. For moments I considered going to my mother's room, however I felt locked in my bed, weighed down with fear. I looked around and my eyes caught on my window. Once again, I saw the eyes of the old man next door, peering through my window. This time, he wasn’t standing in his window like last time. He was directly outside my window, standing with only the scarce light of the moon to light his face. I sat up slowly in my bed, keeping my eyes on him. He noticed and began to walk back to his house, again, as if nothing was wrong.
Ow. My head hurts. It has been lying against this wall for at least an hour now. I scratched the back of my head to move around my dark, curly hair. It was beginning to feel plastered against my scalp. It was a bit tangled from not brushing it for a day and my fingers did not run through it with ease; nevertheless, it felt good to keep the blood flowing. I was lying on a thin, light blue mat on the floor. My head was propped up against the cold wall as if it were a concrete pillow. My chin dug into my chest and I could feel the soft, warm material from my sleeveless sweater cushioning my jaw. I looked down. I could see the ends of my hair cascading over my shoulders. The red highlights matched quite nicely with my maroon sweater. My arms were folded over my belly and they appeared more pale than usual. My knees were bent, shooting upward like two cliffs. My baggy blue jeans covered the backs of my fake brown leather shoes. ("Christy, let me borrow your pants, the baggy ones with the big pockets. I can hide more stuff in those.")
It was a beautiful night. It was perfect for a walk. As I strolled further into the park a figure approached me. It was as dark as pitch so I couldn’t make out who it was. It was late; you wouldn’t usually see anyone at this time. My heart was beating faster and faster. The strange thing was I wasn’t frightened; it was just my heart beating rapidly. As the masculine figure approached, I began to walk slower. That was when I heard the voice.
Carissa woke up the next morning and carelessly stumbled out of bed. She looked in the mirror and thought no wonder no one’s really talked to me, I look like crap. Despite her morning thoughts, she and everyone else knew how gorgeous she actually was. With her hair done, face fresh, clean, made-up, and new clothes to show off, she headed out the door and jumped into her car. She sped down to the nearest Starbucks, just like she did every morning. She finally got to school, still getting used to how different things looked compared to her old one. Carissa was still not used to her dad’s line of work, even though it was the fourth time his company had transferred him.
The sun was shining through the open windows of the crowded, Twinkie-colored bus. The wind was blowing my hair into my face, and I could not wait to see my mommy. There were children yelling because it was Friday and school was out for the week. The excitement of the weekend was on all of the children’s minds. The bus slowed, turned into my mobile home park, and screeched to a stop. I got off the bus and ran into the arms of my mother. I remember her hair smelled like Pert Plus, and she was wearing her favorite perfume, White Shoulders. She would greet me off the bus every day. I loved to see her immediately after a long day of fifth grade. To me this was a normal day. However, to my mother, it was a scary, heartbreaking day.
As I climbed up the big grand stairway of Paint Branch High school with my girlfriend, I found it more strenuous than running four hundred meters on a track and field and my miserable legs protested with each step. The tantalizing scent of the cheese pizza I held in a disposable tray, made the journey unbearable, for my growling stomach yearned for a bite. Once at the top, I am thrilled since my legs haven’t collapsed. Then, we hustled towards the right to Mr. Smith 's room. Pleasant noises came from within the room, students giggling while conversing cheerfully as we approached thus our entrance went unnoticed at first. Being in the classroom, felt like standing inside of a volcano on that sweltering summer day yet
We listened as Mrs. DeCostia enumerated the names of those involved. “Kat, Tara, Kelly, Alexis, Rob, Joe, Matt, and John.” She announced with annoyance. How is it that all my friends got in trouble for the greatest prank in Fairfield’s 75 year history, but my name was left off that prestigious list? I watched my friend’s proud faces as they walked to the front of the room and I laughed as I heard Matt say “So you caught the people, who perfectly reconstructed your room on the roof of the school, but you will never know who the genius behind it was, and as long as that stays a secret, we’ve done our job.” Then Mrs. DeCostia grabbed him by the shirt collar and dragged him outside. Soon there was a wave of people standing and clapping for their hero, the only person to show Mrs. DeCostia what a horrible person she really was. Apparently since my name had been left off the list, they had no intention of revealing it. But still I got the greatest prize of all, even better than being called up there with them: knowing that it was my idea to take every item out of her room and put it on the roof. There was a loud slamming of the door and soon the classroom fell silent. “Whose idea was it?” shouted Mrs. DeCostia. She was answered by silence. “I’ll ask one more time: Whose idea was it?” She said, speaking ever so slowly to ensure he understood. This time she was answered by a deep voice that could only be recognized as John’s. “You’re never gonna know so you might as well give up now.” “Oh, I will find out and when I do that person will be expelled! Now who is it?” Then in a voice that always seemed to say “What are you looking at?” Kat said “Listen lady, I don’t know who you think your dealing with but you’re never gonna know. We’re like...
It was finally the first day of school; I was excited yet nervous. I hoped I would be able to make new friends. The first time I saw the schools name I thought it was the strangest name I’ve ever heard or read, therefore I found it hard to pronounce it in the beginning. The schools’ floors had painted black paw prints, which stood out on the white tiled floor. Once you walk through the doors the office is to the right. The office seemed a bit cramped, since it had so many rooms in such a small area. In the office I meet with a really nice, sweet secretary who helped me register into the school, giving me a small tour of the school, also helping me find
It was now 7 o’clock, there and school had ended at 3:30. They had all called the police and the police called the FBI. What they didn’t know was where we were, when we were taken, by whom we were taken by, and if we were even alive. Fliers were being hung and there was an amber alert out, although it wouldn’t matter because they didn’t know who or why they decided to take four sixteen year olds. Nobody could quite fathom who this could happen or why it happened. The kids in school were worried for us even though many of them didn’t know who we were. The only thing they knew for sure was that we were kidnapped was that we were kidnapped from between the times of 3:30 and
The lights were on. The phone was unplugged. The radio was unplugged. The radiator was unplugged. So was the T.V. Only the lights were plugged in. I whispered with my friends until about 4:00 in the morning, considerably calmer. The phone rang. Stupidly, I picked up. “Hello?” I called. “I’m coming for you.” The events began to unravel again, similar but worse than the time before when only I could know what was happening. The girl wanted all of us now. The lights turned off, the air grew chill, the phones rang, classical music switched on, the radiator made noise, and the little girl was coming out from behind the curtain. Slowly she emerged. My friends’ eyes were wide. “You were right!” one shouted. One threw up. Her knife was glittering in the moonlight. She raised it and I felt the suspense dragging me down. I felt the icy cold blade hit my stomach and felt a warm sensation. Blackness. That’s all I saw. Pure plain
I glanced at my watch, quarter to nine; I had 10 minutes to get to school. Every day I wait for Jade at my house. She was 5 minutes late so I decided to walk down to her house. There was no sign of her down her road. Maybe she slept in late. I knocked on her door, her mum answered, "Hello love, oh are you here for Jade? I'm very sorry she can't come to school today she has a terrible migraine." My head dropped, "Okay, um well could you tell her I hope she feels better." "Bye then!" Jade had never been ill before. Jade had always walked to school with me; I haven't ever been to school on my own before. I arrived at school 10 minutes later. Just enough time to get to my locker. My locker was quite stiff and often hard to open. Only when I got there I noticed my locker was on the last number of my combination. How strange. My locker clacked open; I got my geography book and my maths book and slowly closed the locker. I hesitated, out of the corner of my eye I noticed a red note attached to the door.
