Being a clinical psychologist each year, millions of American experiences mental health problems that can affect the daily life. Clinical Psychology is one of the specialty areas that deal with mental health such as mental illness, abnormal behavior and social well being. As part of my objective to pursue in health related fields, I reached out to an experienced professional to understand the requirements, the challenges and the work environment. She said “anyone that wishes to work as a licensed psychologist must have a graduate degree , but who has a bachelor degree can work as entry level that doesn't required directly in contact with the client ." . In most states if they have a master’s degree can practice as a therapist or counselor. But if anyone has planned to work as Psychologist they must have graduate with doctoral degree because psychologist investigated the clients feeling, emotion in order to provide the right therapy that help them with a mental issue. However, dealing with cultural differences would not be easy and may lead to wrong conclusion unless the right techniques are applied. Derartu underlined that there are techniques to approach clients that come from different cultural backgrounds. She recommended a person centered as the best method. As per her description, “You let the person guide you through their culture. You don't have to become part of the culture but you will become aware of things. So you don't misdiagnose them. For example, in East Africa it is disrespectful to stare at the other person for a long time but if the person working with that culture doesn't know they might misdiagnose them for
