Climate and Weather:
Chances are if you are visiting Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, it will be warm and sunny. Averaging over 350 days of sunshine, Cabo is known for warm weather and very little precipitation. Some things that affect the climate and weather of Cabo are:
• Latitude- Cabo is located at 22 degrees North latitude, so its warm year round temperatures are a result of its closeness to the equator.
• Proximity to Oceans- Cabo is located along the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean, so it has moderate temperatures. This is why Cabo has milder winters that are ideal for vacationers.
• Ocean Currents- Another factor in helping moderate the climate in Cabo.
• Elevation- Cabo is only 20 m above sea level so the air is more dense and holds more heat, keeping the climate warm.

Vegetation:
• Cardón Cactus- known the world’s largest cactus. It has adapted to harsh weather conditions by having a large column looking form that gives the cactus more surface area in the morning and evening sunlight, and less in the brutal midday sun. Its arms branch out to get the most amount of solar radiation as possible. The cardón does not have any leaves because it performs photosynthesis through its skin, instead of leaves like most plants. They have epidermal cells in the skin of their stems, called chlorenchyma that do the work of photosynthesis.
• Bursera Microphylla- also known as the elephant tree. These are small trees or big shrubs that have large trunks that are used to store water. Bursera Microphylla normally have pinnate leaves that are shed when their habitats are experiencing a drought, but the plants have adapted to be able to photosynthesize through the stems of their trunk...

Environmental Issues:
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico has an economy centered about tourism because of its desirable year round warm, tropical weather and little precipitation. People enjoy travelling to this part of Mexico because there is little risk with the weather there because you know what to expect during each part of the year. However, this tourism puts a strain on the environment of Cabo. Millions of people each year go to Cabo on vacation and go fishing, see El Arco, scuba dive, or participate in water sports and activities. All of these things require boats. The frequent boat usage in Cabo has polluted parts of the Sea of Cortez and Pacific Ocean located near the city.
• Beaches and deserts of Cabo are used for tourism. Beaches are used for relaxation, water activities, etc and the desert is used for ATV and horseback riding tours.
