The career the I'm interest me the most is Civil Engineering. Civil engineering is designing and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures and facilities. May work on roads, railroads, airports, bridges, harbors, channels, dams, irrigation projects, pipelines, power plants, water and sewage systems, or waste disposal units. May be architectural, structural, traffic, ocean, geo-technical or other kind of engineer. I chose this career because I would see my mom's side of the family they all are engineers and I really like what they do I like to design. Maintain and that’s something I would really enjoy doing as a career not a job. To be able to become a civil engineer is to have an associate degree …show more content…
First and foremost, civil engineers, and engineers in general, will always be in high demand. Society will always be expanding and demand for the construction of dams, bridges, buildings, etc. will be infinite. Because of this, engineers generally easily find work when they leave college. Also excellent pay an traveling a lot and have a chance to see new places. The main disadvantage is job pressure. The buildings and projects you head up as a civil engineer are sometimes massive in scope and budget. Significant failures can lead to significant losses for your company, or a raise in the company's insurance premiums. Faulty engineering can also lead to calamities in communities from building degradation, road and bridge problems and water system malfunctions. Problems with your work can hurt your employer's reputation, or your own. There are lot of cost & risk involved with the job. Hence, there is lot of pressure as liability can be high on errors. This career path is good many jobs are opened and to be able to make more money or be on the top you would need years of experience the more experience you have the better and more work you will
It is somewhat by accident that I find myself drawn towards the field of Construction Science. I have always enjoyed building with an incorporation of moving parts. When I was young, I started building toy cars, airplanes, dinosaurs, and everything an eight-year-old boy would imagine. It was like striking gold! I could build tracks, and cars with wheels to go on the tracks. I could even build towers with moving parts that reached the living room ceiling. Needless to say this unassuming box of used gadgets fostered a growing excitement towards construction and architecture. As my knowledge of the field grew, so did my curiosity about the assembly and preparation it takes to build useful assets like houses, hotels, even parking garages. I am pursuing a degree in Construction Science, which encompasses not only creating new spheres of urban development, but also a supporting a structure that helps a community grow. After attending Blinn College, I feel the need to expand my knowledge in the field of architecture by attending the highly credited University of Texas A&M.
I believe that to a certain caliber, the best career for me is an architect. Due to many specific reasons. When I was around the age six, I had a particular interest in houses and homes, especially those that include residential and commercial. I would try to build little forts out of wood and cardboard in ditches or in forests and as I got older, I tried harder to make more unique designs and structures out of more than just wood. Eventually I tried using bricks and cement. I would make cool and sometimes funky designs that even my parents found interesting. After numerous compliments and awes of fascination, I found what was meant for my particular skills. The world of artisism and architecture. The many elements that come
The career I’m interested in is an automotive technician, which is a person who works on cars and repairs damages to a car. Also, automotive technicians change the oil, change the tires, and maintain the car. Without automotive technicians, there would be many problems with cars because a lot of people don’t know how to fix cars or even maintain their own cars, which would possibly cause many accidents because of all the problems. The reason why I’m interested in this career is because ever since I was a kid I loved looking at cars and thinking how were they made. I ended up liking fixing cars which are a passion for me to become an automotive technician. The career that I’m interested in is to be an automotive technician because I love to
The career field I chose is to be a firefighter. The reason why I want to be a firefighter is because they help people and prevent fires from spreading. I’ve always wanted to help people everywhere, because I don’t like it whenever if there is an accident and some people died and lost their loved ones, people talking crap about them and just talking and pointing the cameras in their face watching them cry. I want to help people and make a difference and help protect people’s life, and be someone people recognize when I walk by them.
I am a resourceful and well-rounded team player who delivers results to enable organizational success. I have proven ability to work with management to integrate the health safety, security, and environment function within the overall business strategy.
Engineering is the application of scientific, economic design and a wide range of other specialized fields of engineering. As an engineer, there are four major different areas of engineering work that I can concern about, that is chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Beyond this four, sources separate to other main branches. Based on the electrical engineering is concerned with the basic forms of energy that run the world, there is a hopeful future in taking this major as my direction of future. However, what exactly is the benefit of this major; am I suppose to choose this major; what kinds of job opportunities that I am able to get and various of other questions are what I concerned the most.
What are the opportunities for advancement with this occupation? What does the future job outlook look like in this industry? Depending upon the size and type of company and an employee’s performance, advancement opportunities can vary widely. At large companies, construction managers can move up to top-level manager or executive positions. With extensive experience, some go on to become independent consultants, others serve as expert witnesses or arbitrators in disputes or court cases.
The career that I selected is to become an auto mechanic. I have had this great interest in car motors and how they work. I want to pursue this career for many reasons, mostly for financial interests. As I grew older I picked up on many things and I took apart things to see how they worked. I know many things about motors and their components, most than the average person would know.
The civil engineering field is about gathering and interpreting data, being able to give technical presentations to colleagues, team work to design and build a project, projects range from the design and construction of dams, bridges, buildings, roads, and water supply systems. In most cases the works of engineers are admired and sought after. Engineers play an important role in the development and improvement of a society. Yet, like other technical and non-engineering careers the civil engineers also face issues, for example, regarding ethics, high energy building consumption, increased soil and coastal erosion, inadequate water quality, traffic congestion, and some poor infrastructures resilience to disasters. Another example is that unfortunately in the United Kingdom, the civil engineering industry is highly fragmented with 93% of companies having 14 or fewer employees which is not always a great idea, as written by John Miles in Civil Engineering Informatics. There is also a need to implement new professional and educational approaches to new challenges and new implications that are needed for the twenty-first century society. This paper will introduce and explain five different issues that civil engineers are currently facing and elaborate about how these challenges interrelate to each other.
Civil engineering is a very demanding yet fulfilling career, as the engineer is able to work on a project from its inception right to its completion. When you drive over a bridge, see a building, fly out of an airport, or visit a museum, a civil engineer has had a major part in that
Civil engineering has been one of the most important revolutionary keystones of civilization as it has been able to fundamentally change the development of the society throughout the history of mankind. It is a profession with largely human interest in mind. The civil engineers have been able to make use of the natural resources in the environment to make human life more comfortable and efficient. They have also been able to make our day to day life trouble-free by constructing buildings to live, learn and work, roads and railways to travel, bridges to connect unreachable points, airports for air travel and so on. When planning, designing, constructing the civil engineers have always given a great attention to facts such as safety, serviceability,
The importance of civil engineer is crucial because they are central figures in the community development. Without their unique talents the communities would not grow and prosper. Buildings and roads provide the basis of the city's infrastructure. All of this is provided by them, but they use their skills to optimize performance and efficiency of community systems. Also the engineer develops water and sewer systems that balances safety standards with delivery of water and sewer processing, which has a major function on city's operation and people's health and comfort.
... do. I am the type of person that becomes bored very quickly with the same thing day in and day out, so this fast paced, always-changing work atmosphere is perfect for my personality. As a civil engineer I will choose to work outside with a hands-on approach to the projects I take on. This will be a very rewarding career for me, since I will get to see a specific design all the way through to the finished project, and I will get to observe how this finished project helps the public. I also like the fact that my work would benefit more people in one day than almost any other profession. Since I am good at solving problems and designing and constructing things, I should have no problems as a civil engineer. Because civil engineering has all the qualities I am looking for in a job, I feel that it is the perfect career for me.
Civil engineering encompasses many specializations, and many hold supervisory positions. Some specializations of civil engineering include structural, construction, and geotechnical engineering. When supervising the construction of things ranging from roads to dams, engineers must consider factors such as construction costs, government regulations, and environmental hazards. Additionally, civil engineers may also spend their time doing research, and at the same time teaching future engineers
In the most basic sense, engineering means “making things happen.” It is the practical application of science and math, the two subjects I am most passionate about, to solve everyday problems. It opens up a world of opportunity to create innovative technology that influences many aspects of people’s lives, this giving an individual the power to make a difference. While I am deeply interested in the subjects that are the foundation of engineering, in addition I have many other personal reasons for pursuing civil engineering in specific. I am motivated by my desire to fulfill my lifelong goal of creating purposeful infrastructure, to make all of my family proud, and to prove that not all engineers
