The career I’m interested in is an automotive technician, which is a person who works on cars and repairs damages to a car. Also, automotive technicians change the oil, change the tires, and maintain the car. Without automotive technicians, there would be many problems with cars because a lot of people don’t know how to fix cars or even maintain their own cars, which would possibly cause many accidents because of all the problems. The reason why I’m interested in this career is because ever since I was a kid I loved looking at cars and thinking how were they made. I ended up liking fixing cars which are a passion for me to become an automotive technician. The career that I’m interested in is to be an automotive technician because I love to …show more content…
work with cars and I also love working in a hands on job. Some responsibilities or duties that an automotive technician has is to keep all the equipment taken care of and has to maintain all the cars which it doesn’t sound a lot but does because there are so many cars you need to fix which for my evidence it say’s that, “ An automotive technician works with cars to maintain service operations and keep them running properly.
They must also comply with state requirements for registering and maintaining vehicles by testing combustion control, safety, and engine function, and making sure all components meet control standards”(“Automotive Technician”). The typical hours that an automotive technician has about 40 hours which it says that “ While almost half of automotive service technicians work a standard 40-hour week, over 30 percent work more than 40 hours a week. Many of the latter are self-employed. Some shops offer evening and weekend service. Generally, these workers work indoors in well-ventilated and well-lit repair shops, although some are drafty and noisy. They frequently work with dirty and greasy parts and in awkward positions. They often lift heavy parts and tools. Minor cuts, burns, and bruises are common, but serious accidents are usually avoided when the shop is clean and orderly and proper safety practices are observed” ( “Automotive …show more content…
Service”). Some Educational Requirements and licenses you need to get before you can be an automotive technician which it says that ”Because automotive technology is constantly updated, employers are frequently sending their experienced mechanics and technicians to training programs and centers for to remain abreast of current industry trends, including alternative energy engines, green air conditioning systems and electronic fuel injection. Some high schools offer adequate training programs, though most mechanics are expected to have completed an associate degree or certificate program in automotive technology training. An associate's degree is a 2-year program” (“Automotive Service”). The best schools and majors for my career is the University of Northwestern Ohio which is one of the best schools so far to study but also UTI is a really good program to go to because they teach you how to become a really good automotive technician and also it's not that far because Ohio is pretty far from where I live.
The experience required for becoming an automotive technician is that you need to pass high school and after you will need to study in a program that teaches you for about 6 months or to a year which can either get the associate degree or there are some rare programs that get you a bachelor's degree. The personal characteristics of being an automotive technician for me is that I love working in an environment where I can socialize with fellow co-workers and gain experience with them because they could end up teaching me new things that can benefit me in the
future. The outlook that I see that I can be an automotive technician if I try really hard to accomplish the goal of becoming an automotive technician by studying hard or keeping my work on pace which I believe I can do because I actually like working in this type of work. The salary for an automotive technician is around from $32,515 to $42,687 depending on a variety of factors. Some benefits to becoming an automotive technician are that you don't need to waste money on a mechanic, but instead, you can fix the car on your own, help out any family member without making them wasting their money on other places. The growth opportunities for an automotive technician is about a growth of 5 percent from 2014 to 2024 which is a very good rate for many job opportunities for an automotive technician. Therefore the career that I'm interested in is to be an automotive technician because I love to work with cars and also love working with a hands on job. Currently my career goals is to try to keep on trying my best at school so when I graduate I can go straight to studying into becoming an automotive technician, but by doing this I need to have a focused mind and get my work done which is my main goals into achieving my goal into becoming an automotive technician. The steps I will need to take into becoming an automotive technician is to always complete my work, stay focused, have a positive mind, never give up, and also push myself to where I can reach my goal which my steps will help me so I can become my dream job that I really want to be because I love cars in general.

I am interested in auto repair as a career because I love to work with my hands and I like taking on challenges. The collision industry is growing and it will only continue to grow, manufacturers will design new vehicles every year, keeping my job interesting, challenging and fun. What I hope to achieve in the collision industry is open a custom shop with my cousin, he is currently attending Lincoln tech to be a gas/diesel technician. I enlisted in the Texas Army National Guard after I turned 17; after I graduated high school in May 2012 I went to basic training and advanced individual training to be a machinist and welder. I returned home April 2013 not knowing what I wanted to do, even though I enjoyed welding I didn’t see myself as a welder for the rest of my life so I enrolled in Austin Community College to study criminal justice and started working security part time.

How to Drive a Manual Transmission According the to LA Times less than 3% of all cars sold in the U.S. have manual transmissions. Manual cars ,also known as “stickshifts”, were the first type of transmissions used in automobiles and gradually have been fazed out for automatics over the past few decades. One of the major reasons for the lack of manual cars is there is less of a demand for them. An abundance of people do not know how to drive manuals therefore the demand for them is diminishing.
Ever since I was a child, I have had a great interest for the automotive industry. From car trivia to novel innovations, my innate passion for the automotive industry has always made me research the minutest detail of every vehicle that interested me. Since elementary school I would draw sketches of cars which incorporated technology which were unheard of at that time; novel devices such as electrochromic windshields, HUD displays, and wind turbines which would constantly re-generate electricity for the car. While growing up, my hobbies largely consisted of constructing countless Lego and Meccano sets, and repairing my mom’s 19 year-old car. In middle school, math and science were my favorite subjects: applying science and mathematics to solve real-world problems has fascinated me and I have also taken further steps to reach my goals. By the age of thirteen I devised a scaled model of a heliostat power plant, which successfully powered a light bulb. The mathematics beyond the focus points of parabolic dishes and thermodynamics was very advanced for my age, but I took up the challenge...
Learning is a continuous process and the day that you stop learning is the day that you start decreasing your rewards and lower levels of satisfaction. My ardent desire to acquire knowledge has motivated me to pursue higher studies at graduate level, and to take up a career in research in industry. I have taken this decision after carefully considering my academic background, profound interest in research and strong aptitude for problem solving.
There are hundreds of occupation around the world, few of which anyone would want to do. Being an electrician is one of them. Electrician keep lighting, electrical system around a building and generator working. Being an electrician can also be dangerous. I want you to think back to what might be the greatest invention ever. Dependant upon how well you know your history you could possibly say the wheel, the car, the airplane, the television, the autonomous robot. All of these are great ideas that have different eras in history, but they all have something in common, these creations were all invented by engineers. Do not get the misconception that engineers have been around since the dawn of time but the concept of engineering itself has. Those great revolutionaries all had ideas and solved problems which are still qualities that engineers of this day and age use. Webster defines engineering as, “the work of designing and creating large structures or new products or systems by using scientific methods.” Those people created new products so they would today be considered engineers, but they are slightly different. What makes them different is the field that they would be considered a part of. The broadest one of the oldest forms is mechanical engineering, which is my future profession.
It has taken a very long time for me to decide on the path that I wanted to take for my career. I have almost always known that I wanted to be an engineer. I was always more interested in applying my knowledge to solve problems rather than just research and understand the world. However, I had little to no inkling as to which field of engineering I wanted to go in to. I had always been a dabbler, involving myself in a large variety of activities with the interest of learning about how stuff works. I started out learning how to use the tools in the shed outback, making pinewood derby cars and model rockets. I would help my dad with home improvement and repair projects around the house. As time went on, my ability learns and apply
