Upon taking this religion class, there were many religions that were very informing due to only being familiar with the names. As a child, there were many opportunities, but I never had the chance to visit a Christian church. Therefore, thanks to this assignment, I made a decision to wake up early and attend a Sunday morning service at a church that my close friend had been going to. As this assignment did not require sitting and listening to what the service had to offer for me, I paid my respect and attention to the sermon, praise and the other order of events. The decorations presented on the glass stained windows were very fascinating because you normally don’t find that in your daily life. The patterns and drawings on the glass are very colorful and some even created a picture.There were two interesting factors which were the praise and sermon provided by the praise team and the head pastor. While, I was holding service, I felt that giving praise to god was just as great and important as the word given by the pastor. Holding a tremendous meaning, we were able to make some sort of connection, while harmonizing our voices to lift a divine being. Apparently, it is not just an emotional part plays a role, but you have to put your sincere feelings of love and appreciation. Some the musical instruments used in the praise were the synthesizer, drums, piano, guitar, electric and a bass guitar. These instruments produced music such as the melody that helped us to sing along as well as create sounds to fill the room. On the other hand, after the praise, the pastor started to preach to us about the word of god. I can’t remember the specific chapter or verse, but it was based from the book of John, about Jesus’s great love for us. Apparently, it is when the members that are baptized come up to the front in an orderly fashion and each person rips a piece of bread and dips it into a cup of wine. The bread represents the body of Christ and the wine represents his blood, and this ceremony is presented as a remembrance to the Holy Ghost or god. I thought this religious ceremony was sacred and important to the members of the church for it has its meaning. After service had ended, everyone proceeded to the cafeteria to eat lunch prepared by the volunteered members. We had to approach the tables and select the dishes and soup that we wanted to eat. Mustering up the spoon, fork, plate and bowl, I slowly walked across to the table that my friend was sitting at. We all prayed individually, and soon as we ended, everyone picked up their utensils and started to eat.
