Christopher Nolan's Inception

In 2010 Christopher Nolan wrote and directed a Warner Brothers award-winning film called, “Inception”. One might claim that Christopher Nolan’s directorial style worked with the film “Inception” because of his previous award winning movies. Before Christopher Nolan directed “Inception” he directed films such as, Insomnia in 2002, Batman Begins in 2005, and The Prestige in 2006. Christopher Nolan is definely a director that understand the concept behind a good action mystery thriller. Throughout this paper one will find a dialogue on Christopher Nolan’s directorial style based off “Inception”, and an analysis on the form, content and awards that film recieved.
Many critics believe that “Inception” is a unique film that captured the minds of audiences. Other critics claimed that Christopher Nolan did not do what was expected for the film. Nick Pinkerton wrote in his review, “It's obvious that Nolan either can't articulate or doesn't believe in a distinction between living feelings and dreams—and his barren Inception doesn't capture much of either”(Pinkerton). Meaning that Nolan neglected to note the difference between real and fake in the film. Another critic from twenty first century films wrote, “Emotions are how dreams maintain there stability, not visuals…So Nolan’s Insistence on rigid visual architecture as the glue that holds the whole mess together is meaningless…(21st Century Films).
One disagreed with these responses for a few reasons. One reason was the movie was Christopher Nolan defends the seemingly over the top dreams. In the beginning of “Inception” characters said, “This is my dream” when “dream-weaving”. The dreams were not supposed to be realistic but surreal and “made up” places so it is easier for the dreamweave...
