The Typewriter is a very famous invention, and impacted society in a big way. The Typewriter helped people communicate and write letters in a fast, convenient way. It really helped people in the business world and writing big, long papers. Things that make the Typewriter such a famous invention is not just it’s use. The Typewriter had a very special inventor and a very interesting story of how the Typewriter is so famous today. The inventor of the Typewriter was Christopher Latham Sholes, he was born on February 14, 1819 and died on February 17, 1890 (“The Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica”). Sholes worked very hard at his new invention. He didn’t work alone either. He had a lot of help from other people that were fascinated with Sholes new invention. A website tells us that “Sholes added many improvements in the next few years, and in 1873 he signed a contract with E. Remington and Sons, gunsmiths, of Ilion, New York, for manufacture” (“The Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica”). …show more content…
