Your choice of happiness I believe is an obvious choice. Being happy is a better choice so why not choose to be happy. Dak Prescott chose to be happy although he went through many challenges and hardships. Prescott's ability to be a professional football player didn't come easy. His love for his sport kept him happy. It was his team and organization that kept him happy through his hardships. A dedication is displayed on the football field every time at a game after a big play. This dedication is towards his mother. Although his mom has passed away he continues to stay happy because its what his mom would want, for him to be happy. He dedicates his career towards his mother. Towards the beginning of his career he did not play but
‘Sometimes Gladness’, a collection of poems by Bruce Dawe presents various references to Australian culture; although these can often be overlooked by the reader, due to more prominent themes relating to the human experience, which engages and preoccupies the reader instead. ‘Drifters’ and the ‘Reverie of a Swimmer’ can be easily recognised as Australian, however, these poems amongst others like ‘Homecoming’, ‘Enter Without so much as Knocking’ and ‘LifeCycle’ also aim to address and engage a larger audience to consider universal issues like grief, isolation and loss. Lastly, a distinct Australian poem would only be expected to explore issues relating to the country’s individual culture or issues, though Dawe chooses to represent many prevalent
love for competition helped him become a leader on the football field as well as
...orts. He set firsts for some things and re-iterated others. He is still a very large contributing influence in the football world today. He is currently a NFL analyzer. He is very smart and knowledgeable. But he didn't get to where he is now without struggle. Power and fame almost ruined him. Yet he was able to bounce back and use his experience to learn from and shape his future and create a positive outcome. He made it positive not only for himself but for others as well. He set his goals and was determined. One thing
I do not think anyone else in this world can choose whether or not someone else is happy or not. I agree with Schuller and Parks because they state that there are ways you can increase your happiness. I believe that if you are unhappy, it is up to you to fix it and change. Instead of letting negative environmental factors affect your life negatively, let them change your life positively. Always think everything happens for a reason and believe that the negative factors in your life are blessings in disguise. If you can go through life believing these things then you will live a longer and happier life. I think that if you go through life with the positive psychological interventions you will inevitably be happier. For example, if you help some out of the kindness in your heart and they end up being extremely happy you will be happier than not being helpful but knowing the person you could’ve helped has a negative environmental factor affect their life negatively. However, you are the only one that has control over your
However, happiness also takes into account a wide range of other aspects of our lives, including our thoughts and actions, and even genetics. Therefore, happiness should be defined as the amalgamation of how we think and act, and how we interpret our experiences as positive or negative. What this means is that in order to become happier, we must simply force ourselves to become more optimistic. This is easier said than done, however. In order to have a noticeable increase in happiness, people must be willing to make lifestyle changes in addition to changing their mindset. However, the difference between optimism and delusion is a fine line, so people must be cautious to not exaggerate the positive parts of an experience or become overly optimistic. If we practice seeking out the positive views of our circumstances, with time we will find ourselves happier than
Many people believe that if you don’t succeed at first, you must try and try again until you succeed. The reason for people to believe in this belief is because its gets transmitted constantly through others. But the thing is that people don’t know how to distinguish false or true beliefs, what often causes us to believe in beliefs has to do with our society. A Harvard college professor of psychology, Daniel Gilbert, wrote a book called Stumbling on Happiness, explaining how people tend to have delusions about their future which often misleads people’s happiness. In the final chapter, Gilbert makes a resemblance between genes and beliefs, he describes how they both pass along things in order to create the transmission they try to send on. He
Happiness is not about being filthy rich, or by how many designer clothes I can wear, happiness is about making a difference in the lives of the future. It will be such an awarding experience to go daily to a place of work and feel as though I truly belong.
This choice has affected Antigone both temporally and eternally by more than just her happiness. Antigone was happy and confident when she buried Etocles but was forced to accept her fate in order to achieve this goal. “Life is but the happiness you get out of it.” (Antigone, Part VI) Chris McCandless from Into the Wild found his happiness eventually after a journey to Alaska and recorded, “Happiness only real when shared” (Into the Wild, 189). Chris later discovered that he found his temporal happiness while on a journey in the woods of Alaska when he came to the realization shortly before death that his eternal happiness was when he was surrounded by others. Phil from Groundhog Day found his happiness after he took the time to help others and fell in love with Rita. Phil believed that a life well lived would be living with Rita in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Phil’s temporal happiness would be to stop reliving groundhog day and to get Rita to fall in love with him. He found happiness through suffering due to being stuck in the same day until he broke the cycle and attempted suicide. “No matter what happens tomorrow, for the rest of your life, I’m happy now.” (Phil Connors, Groundhog

Contrary to belief, genuine happiness is very rarely found at the bottom of a shopping basket or on the leather seats of a brand new car. Often we hear the cliché saying “Money can’t buy happiness” but this is in fact true. Whilst the elation and delight brought from finally owning a wanted item is extraordinary, you must remind yourself that your happiness should not become dependant upon your ownership of this item. Being happy is not something you can purchase from a shop or car dealership, it is the way you take on life. Unfortunately, happiness does not have its own aisle at shops and never will.

Throughout my life, I have learned to see that happiness is not such an inaccessible dream. Although its notion varies from one person to another, happiness is often times only one inch away. Some people will experience happiness in the pursuit of it. Some will find it in sacrificing themselves for greater goals. Others will find it in people’s company, in lust or in drugs. There is no recipe for success or happiness, and it is only up to us to define what we want from life, and how we want to get it. The only certain thing is that it is never too late for anybody to achieve their dreams, to make peace with their feelings, and ultimately, to be happy.
But in this debate, one question still raises its head - What is happiness? Happiness is not actually leading a luxurious life, but the luxury of living a life. Happiness is not actually about expanding your business, but it lies in expanding the horizons of life. Happiness is not having a meal in the most famous restaurant, but having it with your most beloved family. It does not lie in attending honorable parties, but to attend a party with honor.
