Showing Where Child Support Is Spent
Parents who are receiving child support should have to prove what they spent it on. Child support should be supporting the child, not the parent’s extra-curricular activities. When parents receive child support, they tend to lack the responsibility of getting a job to support themselves and their part of child’s expenses. Jackie Pilossoph said, “Why not set up an account that is for the use of kids only?” When a child comes up to the non-custodial parent and says that they need things like shoes, clothes, deodorant, etc. when it makes you wonder where the child support went. If receipts were mandatory, it would show that the parent is caring for the child as need be. If parents receiving child support

A parent can put the child support check into that account and the other parent can write checks against it for rent/mortgage, food, utilities and kids expenses?” In a way, both parents should be required to put money into that account. This would show that both parents are taking care of that child equally. If there is money left over in the account that could be put into a certificate of deposit for the child’s college fund, or used for an emergency that would come up. Matt Allen said, “As my father said after my sister crashed our first car in high school, you can never know completely when and how much your children will cost …show more content…
Shoes for at the opposing parent’s house for example, should be taken care of by the custodial parent instead of the noncustodial parent paying for shoes that should have been bought with the money that they are paying in. There is no excuse for a child to have to wear clothes that do not fit them, just because the other parent spends the child support on themselves. Child support is called “child support” for a reason, and that reason is to support the child. If the parent receiving child support does not spend it for its main purpose, that parent should have consequences for not taking proper care of the child. Not providing for a child is known as child neglect, so why should spending child support on the parent instead of the child be any
n Chapter 3, “Entering Into the Serpent”, Anzaldua discuss about serpents and snakes and she was told they were dangerous growing up. Then, she goes in with a history of the goddesses of Mexican and Chicano cultures. According to Anzaluda, many of the Indian groups had goddesses that were respected feminine, the wild, the beast within women. She explains that most of the tribal leaders were females but, then the Aztec rulers changed things, though, by destroying documents, rewriting mythology, creating wars and defeat. The Aztecs changes the view of the strong female goddess and made them evil and subduing men. This chapter make realize ho man became the dominant gender when it comes to household or ruling a country. They are intimidate by
Men have changed as well; men didn’t used to think that children were their responsibility. If they didn’t want to give their child financial support, they would simply leave and they didn’t spend time with their children, if they didn’t want to. However, things have changed as now, men are required by the law to support their children financially even if they get a divorce. Moreover,

The amount of child support cases in arrears would decline if a few things were changed, hopefully providing incentives to pay child support on time and regularly. There are also harsher consequences that could be carried out to prevent future mistakes. There are things being done, but is it enough? As it stands the noncustodial parent can face loss of visitation, probation, and even jail time for none payment of child support. By not enforcing court ordered child support and making examples out of those who are not in compliance, we are sending out a message that child support is more of an option than a legal obligation. Think about the ones who are really suffering here, the children involved.
Legally, fathers are responsible for providing prenatal support for their preborn child, but have no legal rights if the mother decides to terminate the life of that child. Many fathers have gone to court to try to stop mothers from going through with their abortions. However, according to the courts, when it comes to abortion, a mother's right to abortion overrides a father's objections.
Close to 60% of children in the united states, who are living in a single mother family are impoverished. However, only 11% of two parent families are in poverty. This is very important because there are close to approximately 10,000,000 single mother families in the united states, and if 60% of those are in poverty, then close to 6,000,000 families are in poverty in the U.S. because they have a single mother. This is an issue because that is a lot of people living in poverty. If women don't get paid enough because of their lower paying jobs and the wage gap, then it is almost impossible to raise children while being a single mother. Also, many parents take time off of their work to take care of their children. Single parents usually have to take more time off of their work to take care of their child. However, this is difficult for salaries. An article about parenting says , “Some large or family-friendly companies employees six paid weeks of maternity leave, but many do not.”. This is an issue. IF mothers, specifically single mothers are not paid while taking care of their children, then it is way harder to stay above the poverty line. Children already cost a lot of extra money for two parent families, and if single mothers take time off to take care of their kids without any pay, then that makes the poverty problem
Is child support benefiting the children as well as the parents to keep a stable environment? There has been an increase in children that go through a process called child support, which is the cause of their parents’ divorce or their split up before the child was even born. This process helps the custodial parent receive a certain amount of income from the noncustodial parent to help provide for the minor child(rens) necessities. Every single case is different, depending on what state you reside in or the income that each parent earns are two major factors. Over the years many people thought that only men were the ones that played for child support and where the noncustodial parent, but now the roles have changed and women are becoming more empowered to becoming successful.
To go into more detail, the typical role of the father as far as childcare is concerned is usually to go to work so that he can receive the income to provide for his family. That’s not to say every family is like this but majority of people would consider this to be normal. Not only are males usually linked with providing income but they are also usually correlated with the act of discipline within the home. I think it’s safe to say that anyone who has ever heard these words “wait until your father...
In my experiences as a student athlete, I can vouch for those in favor of paying student athletes. Because I need more money to help me through college, I had to apply for financial aid and eventually received a grant. There are many additional expenses I have encountered in just my first semester as a student athlete. An estimate of how much money I spend each semester is around 100 dollars. These expenses range from shampoo to eating out when the cafeteria is closed. The amount of time I spend as an athlete each week takes up at least 20 hours. The combination of time spent for basketball and personal needs demonstrates why student athletes should receive money. I’m amazed at how many things require money from my own pocket. The bottom line is student athletes need to start getting paid even if it’s minimal.
First, when it comes to paying child support, some men are lazy and try to find reasons or excuses to get out of paying what they owe. Child support is a payment that a noncustodial parent makes as a contribution to the costs of raising a child. Failure to receive such payment has a great impact on the well-being of the child. The U.S. Department of Human Services has reported that since 1975, the total child support arrears have accumulated to more than $114.5 billion. This result is because the nonresident fathers are not paying their child support payments.
According to Alan E. Kazdin, PhD(2000) in his book”Encyclopedia of Psychology: 8 Volume Set,” ”Currently in the United States, about 40% of the first marriages end in divorce. In addition more than half of all divorces involve children under the age of eighteen”( Kazdin,364). Some people believe that parents tend to get a divorce for one reason or another and not for disbelieve that people just can 't get along. However in the end divorce is just a stressful event. Consequently, divorce can have an important and life changing impact on the well-being and development of children. A parent can diminish the negative impact of a divorce by supporting and reassuring their children, before, during and after the separation. However most separated parents tend to pull apart from their childs once going through a divorce. Leading to lack of support for those childs.Divorce settlement process is inequitable and should be determined on a case-by-case basis, rather than by general formulas. The change I am seeking is that if the second parent(not the one that has custody) does not pay the child support or has over $2,000 in overdue payments then they should not be allowed to get the child for their time until they get caught up in payments.
The most rewarding quality of theatre is its ability to integrate old stories with modern events, all while innovating the idea of what a play truly is. The Serpent, written by Jean-Claude van Itallie, is no exception to this quality. The show is an experimental theatre piece that is heavy in movement with limited text. The storytelling of four female narrators weaves events from the sixties, such as the assassination of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech, and stories from the book of Genesis, such as Adam and Eve and their sons, Cain and Abel, together. I saw the Nebraska Repertory Theatre’s production, directed by Wesley Broulik, on November 8th at 7:30 pm.
All families already have other expenses to pay for such as bills, food, taxes, and they still have to buy regular clothes for their children to wear when they are out of school. Parents located in Anderson, Indiana, sued over a schools uniform policy because it broke the guarantee of a free public education. They said they were required to pay $641 for their children's uniforms in Aug. 2007 (Carol Motsinger, "Ironing out Policies on School Uniforms," usatoday.com, August 6, 2007) Most families probably cannot afford this expense on top of every other expense they have to pay at the same time. It should not have to be an expense for these families to worry about because it is technically imposing on the promise of free education.
