Observation Narrative After her name was called, S.W. ran out onto the playground first amongst the others in her class. S.W. played on the jungle gym for about 10 seconds. Then she walked towards other toys on the playground. She rode back and forth on a purple seahorse. S.W. then walked towards another child to play with. She is now playing in a hoola-hoop with two other children. S.W. and the others walked from one end of the playground to the other end. She tripped and fell and ducked underneath the hoola-hoop to escape it and then started crying. She found her teacher and attempted to explain why she was crying. Now S.W. is standing by herself in the middle of the playground. S.W. is walking towards another student and her teacher. She is now again left alone standing towards the backdoor of her classroom. and the other student have stopped briefly for a moment at the northern end of the playground. She pushes herself to run without holding onto the hoola-hoop. Her teacher has now removed the hoola-hoop from the two students. She is now playing with a make-believe kitchen by the backdoor of her classroom with two other students. She is opening the top cabinets in the kitchen toy. Her hands appear to be in the sink with another student’s hands. S.W. is hunched over the sink and has her head turned toward her teacher. She is now again, opening and closing the cabinets. She has removed herself from the sink and is now staring at the front and back of her hands. She is now pretending to work the stove by turning the knobs regulating temperature. She is now facing the playground and has ran back to the jungle gym and toy area. She has picked up the lawnmower and is pretending to mow the concrete. S.W. stops briefly to make an excited, sort of scrunched up face. S.W. reaches the middle of the playground and abandons the toy. She is now walking alone to the picnic table area and is swinging around the
