Ethical and Socially Responsive Business
The business world is constantly becoming competitive with several organizations innovating techniques to go against the odds. According to Mitchel (2010), the human aspect in various organizations makes it easy to manipulate the business environment thereby making the targets of the organization a success. Cheesecake Company owes its success to the strong code of ethics that guides the operation of the restaurant. Based on the historical nature of this Company, none would imagine of the great successes it has achieved. By 1978, David the founder of the Company had very little knowledge on how he would run this large scale restaurant. However, with the intuition about the dynamics and operation of the restaurant, it emerges to beat the already existing restaurants. Closely analyzing the success story of this restaurant, it has been based on the strong business acumen of code of ethics.
To begin with, the Company incorporated a code of ethics that guides its operation within the action of the employees. The code clearly defines its purpose within the organization as well as its applicability. According to the code, there must be ethical conduct including honest, fair, accurate and ethical conduct in disclosure of information pertaining to the company. Since the organization depends on human resources, developing a strong organization culture as far as employees are concerned is necessary.
