Cheerleading scholarships are based on many things like grades ,skill level and the attitude you give off.Cheerleading is not yet considered a NCAA, NAIA, or NJCAA athletic team so you can not expect a huge amount of money from it, however it has happened before but they are more rare than normal sports.(“Can You Get a Cheerleading Scholarship to Cheer in College?”) Many young adults pursue extra curricular activities with the hopes of getting a scholarship to help with college. Grades are one of the main thing colleges look at before giving a scholarship so just because you have all the skills does not mean you will get a scholarship. If you are showing major improvement some teams will give you one because they know you will quickly get it .Students with bad grades do not qualify for any type of college scholarship. In fact, most kids will not get into college much less a scholarship. (“Athletic scholarships”). After receiving a scholarship, athletes must maintain a 3.5 gpa to stay on the team. If grades fall, you will get kicked off the team and not be able to return until you get your grades up and try out the following year. People with average grades can get a scholarship too. You do not have to be the best person in your class but, good grades help a lot and looks better on your tryout form. There are other ways to impress the judges if you do not have the best grades.
