The workers for the popular satirical magazine in Paris called Charlie Hebdo were recently under attack with many shots fired and deaths. This magazine was known for its reports and humor, including many different cartoons. The workers were attacked by three (reported) Islamic militants last week after getting upset over the cartoons they published about Muslims and in particular, Muhammad. The Islamic militants managed to kill 12 people, and leaving many more wounded in a daily magazine meeting. They quickly fled the building, hijacked a car and killed two officers. They later abandoned the car in northern Paris, then hijacked another to get away. This was believed to be the deadliest attack in France since 1961 when a train was bombed,
killing 28. President Francois Hollande said it was in no doubt a “terrorist attack of exceptional barbarity.” France has raised its security to the highest level after this tragedy. The next cover for the magazine is yet another Muhammed cartoon, raising high alert to the company. This incident has made France and other countries more targeted. We have been in arguments with other countries, and now the Muslims are angry and have a reason to be. This has put the government on their tip-toes with security. The Social implications of this are mainly based around France and other countries they have made these cartoons about. After thinking about this, I think it has crossed the line. Before this cartoon got out far, we were already having troubles with Muslims and Islams, and this just made it worse. We should be able to express our opinions, but definitely not to get a reaction or make others angry. When they start making fun of anyone, especially countries we are not sided with, that is when it becomes a problem. If a company is brave enough to make a comic about someone, and they have a chance of getting offended, they are responsible for the results. Targeting the Islams and Muslims in a comic was not a good choice, it only gave them another reason to attack. We as people, should care about this because even though it is not our country, it still has something to do with multiple groups of Islamic extremists against us and others. Another reason we should care is because this gives other countries reasons to attack our friendly countries. This issue has only made the other countries more angry, and places like America and France more secure. This should raise awareness to everyone that it is crossing the line to turn a bad situation into entertainment.
Can you imagine being convicted of first degree murder at only 17 years of age? Adnan Syed couldn't believe it either. In fact he was mortified when they charged him of brutally suffocating, his ex-girlfriend Hea Min Lee, to death. Adnan Syed was a pawn that the Baltimore detectives played with, a mere dupe to cast off as the true killer. Syed is like many Americans, he was never granted a fair trial. There is some actors that make Syed guilty, but perhaps it was just pure coincidence that got Adan wrapped up in this whole mess. One simply can't overlook the major factors that make him innocent enough to grant him a second trial. Adan has spent half of his life in prison, due to a wrongful conviction that happened many

Twenty minutes later, he opened fire, injuring many people and killing one. Ultimately, the incident became an eight-hour siege during which 33 people were held hostage.”

This article does not contain a comical sense to it but has a dark, serious tone that is used to show the disturbing realities of this world that these people live in. The article using multiple rhetorical questions that are meant for the reader to think about and place themselves in the described world. This allows them to place themselves in this world and visualize the harsh reality and fear that this world truly holds. The audience is again those people who are not part of this world but are supposed to be in the position of “on the outside looking in” as this description tries to set them in this world within their imagination. This news article breaks its genre conventions as it is not the usual detailed-packed account of a situation you see on the news that simply describes the news it is talking about. Instead, this uses questions to stimulate the reader to envision their own idea of what is happening, while using some supporting details to sway the reader the way I want them to think. Differently, this does keep the convention of having a serious, and dark tone that most of the new news stories and articles
Everyone is enjoying that moment of not knowing what is about to happen to them. It is now 5:45 pm, a minute has gone by. A bomb has just gone off in the restaurant, and everyone is dead. This is one of the first bombings the National Liberation Front (FLN) in Algeria has prepared for their French settlers. Death is the price of colonization and decolonization.
Their religion was hijacked by the attack. Like I previously mentioned, we many do not seem to stop and realize that our own religion might be part of terrorism. Religion should not matter when we look at a person because there are two kinds of people in the world, the good and the bad. If we all had to look at the flaws in everyone’s beliefs and religions we would probably come to the conclusion that we aren’t all terrorists but some people with the same beliefs as us, might be. We tend to find the bad in something and associate it with everything else that is somehow connected to it.
The Le Paradis Massacre happened on 27 May 1940 when the British troops were attempting to retreat through the Pas-de-Calais region during the Battle of Dunkirk. The Le Paradis massacre was a war crime committed by German troops who were under the command of Hauptsturmführer Fritz Knöchlein. Soldiers of the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Norfolk Regiment had lost contact with their regiment. They then occupied and defended a farmhouse against an attack by German troops in the village of Le Paradis. After they had run out of ammunition, the British soldiers surrendered to the German troops. The British troops were then led across the road to a wall and machine-gunned. Knöchlein at that time had his men armed with bayonets to kill any remaining survivors.

In my thesis final case final, I will be doing my essay on a criminal who was known for one of the most notorious crimes. This man was one of the most evil and sinister known criminals of all times. The man I am referring to is no other than Charles Manson. Manson organized murders that shocked the entire world and even today when his name is mention people shudder. One thing I can say from the study in our books Manson definitely suffered abnormality. From His child hood to the ability to be able to manipulate and control people he was able to create a deadly cult and this was the dark start that led to horrible murders of many innocent lives. Before I jump ahead, first I want to examine who was Manson and his upbringing.
The orlando shooting is an important recent event in the media. This essay will discus the extent and length of the way that the media has covered the event. The extent and length will be analysed in a discussion on how news values and political considerations impact the coverage. The effects of the way that the media has covered the event will be addressed and evaluated.
The likely effect of this kind of victimization is difficult to divulge into, as the way media has blown up these deaths as accidents doesn’t help the case that the research and the main book are trying to put forward, that being an assassination of ‘someone who did something that did not please someone else.’ The only recommendation
What is often called “the spark that started it all,” occurred on December 17, 2011 in Tunisia. A street vendor named Mohamed Bouazizi set himself on fire to protest the corruption of the government. (Arab Spring, 2013) The 26 year old Bouazizi sold vegetables on the streets of Tunisia to make a living. His self-immolation was brought on when his cart of vegetables was confiscated by a policewoman. (Abouzeid, 2011) Bouazizi then went to the provincial headquarters to complain to officials about his situation. However, they refused to see him. Angered at the way he was being treated, Bouazizi set himself on fire in protest. (Abouzeid, 2011) He was taken to the hospital and stayed there until his death on January 4, 2011. Bouazizi’s self-immolation caused such an uproar that even Tunisia’s dictator, President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, visited him in the hospital. Bouazizi’s mother, Mannoubia, said, “Mohamed did what he did for the sake of his dignity. He lives on, his name lives on. I am proud of what happened in Tunis, I am proud that he is known throughout the Arab World.” (Abouzeid, 2011) Bouazizi’s self-immolation had such a huge impact on Tunisia that Ben Ali fled to Saudi Arabia on January 14.
