Charles Darwin, believe it or not played a huge role in the development of the holocaust. He played a role in the beliefs of the Nazi party. His theories is what they based their laws off of, they gave the Nazi's their thoughts of political beliefs. This leading to the Nazi's replacing the Judeo-christian Doctrine with Darwinism. Darwin's theories had a huge impact on how the jews were treated and how war was seen. Darwin would soon have everyone following his idea of evolution. Charles Darwin would soon get the Nazi's to try and eliminate the weaker race based off his theory ‘Survival of the Fittest’ and a ‘Superior race’. Nazism is believed to have reached the extent of the holocaust due to wide spread and acceptance of social darwinism. The scientific and academic community would soon fall for the belief in Darwinism and be strong supports of the theories (Influence of Evolution).
The theory of evolution was based on individuals acquiring traits that enable those possessing the new traits a higher chance to survive in the worst conditions, compared to those who don't possess them. Darwins theory of evolution impacted not only the Nazi party, but the majority of German citizens. He's idea's that he was bringing up consisted of: a 'Superior race', his theory “Survival of the fittest”, and that nature takes it course. Thus getting the Nazis to expunge the Judeo-Christian doctrine in schools and replace it with Darwinism. Griffin believes that each individual is shaped by forces beyond their control, beginning in their childhood, and it is these particular events that shape and mold people into the person they later become. Hitler’s Nazi Germany can be explained partly because of child-rearing practices common during that time. While Griffin is not wrong, the events leading up to the Holocaust can be traced way further back than an individual like Himmler’s childhood. The events and attitudes in Nazi Germany take on a high resemblance and seem to be a product of the disciplinary mechanisms established by the plague. I find it hard to imagine that one reading these theories would be able to believe that these allegations were valid and justifiable reasons for the extermination of human beings. I believe it was economical interest that put these theories into action, not actually belief in the theories themselves. The theories served as justification, as an excuse for exterminating innocent people that posed as a threat to Aryan-Germans. It is appalling that something as Barbaric as the treatment of humans during the Third Reich actually took place, and that such obscure theories such as those I have discussed provided the structure for the Nazi State.
After a few generations this would create kids and parents that were never going to question the fuhrer and make them completely oblivious onto what they are being taught. This helped with the war effort against basically everyone. This made the children obedient, as they were taught what Hitler wanted them to know and nothing that he didn’t want the children to know. They were forced to celebrate Hitler’s birthday and were forced to swore allegiance to him. The children were also taught that Germans were the ultimate race and that the other races and Jewish people are weak and should be crushed. The teachers where all people from the Nazi’s and were only males, the teachers even encouraged racism, and making fun of the disabled and other people with problems. They even made it seem like the Jewish people did terrible things like communism, destruction of important buildings and landmarks and even that they were terrorist that they are just bad and evil people over all. Everything from children's books to the classrooms have been changed to emphasize strength and not to pity the weak. The textbooks have been rewritten to teach them militarism, anti semitism, and to obey the fuhrer. All this taught them Nazi Ideology so the Third Reich will last forever. Charles Darwin had first noticed the similarities of plants and animals when he took a five-year cruise on the H.M.S. Beagle, which was available to him through a friend from school.
