As a teenager it is important to be up to date on current events that is happening around them. They to feel involved and included with what is going on in their lives and social media helps them achieve this. Nowadays it is easier for teenagers to read news from social media sites then watching them on TV. I myself do not watch the news but I do get it from Social media sites. 70% of teenagers find news from Facebook or twitter. Social media can let you know what is going on with their friends and it can inspire them. It can inspire them to get an education and to have goals in life. However, there are many negative aspects of social media such as Cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is where they are threaten by their peers

In Truman Capote’s short story, “A Christmas Memory”, Capote shows his true admiration for Sook by illustrating her loving character. Throughout the story Capote explains the ways Sook was an extraordinarily loving person to Buddy. For example, Sook giving Buddy ten cents every Saturday for him to see a picture show, she tries to sell her own valuables to purchase Buddy a gift for Christmas, and she spends most of her time with Buddy. Sook was a loving person to everyone she met, but she was most loving to her best friend Buddy.
Teen are being slain by cyberbullies everyday. Not all social media is good for teens. Even no social media is better. Almost every teenager has a cellphone or some sort of device that lets them check their social media. Many websites like Facebook, Instagram, and snapchat are bad and can cause teenagers to do bad things to themselves or other people. Banning social media will make teens have better grades, be more safer, and have more self confidence with less depression.
There has always been controversy on whether or not social media is healthy for teenagers. In the article, “Antisocial Networking?” by Hilary Stout from the New York Times dated April 30, 2010, Stout explicates why she dislikes social networking sites. She claims that social media eliminates the opportunity for adolescents to develop empathy for others, understand different emotions, and recognize the meaning of facial expressions and body language. However, Melissa Healy clarifies how social media is beneficial for teens in her article, “Teenage Social Media Butterflies May Not Be Such a Bad Idea” from the Los Angeles Times dated May 18, 2010. I disagree with Hilary Stout because social media is an efficient way of communicating with friends, helps teens develop social skills, and creates opportunities for adolescents.
Social media gives minors the chance to express how they are feeling and confide with other people who have or had felt the same way. It can also help them to be more confident and feel accepted by family friends and their community. In return this makes them more sympathetic and open minded to new ideas and new people. This makes social media helpful for them and others.

With careful monitoring and usage, social media can be an effective form of communication in the classroom. Social media is any online website that lets you interact with other people, share photo and information and keeps you updated. In my personal opinion I think social media has made both positive and negatives impacts on today’s society .Some of the negative impacts are cyberbullying and addiction, and the positive impacts are spreading the word and increasing business sales.
In today’s society, much advancement has been made throughout the universe. However, one that seems to stand out in particular is the use of social media. Social media has both positive and negative effects on society. This advancement has led to a difference in communication to everyone by reconnecting with others, or even informing the public nationwide through televisions such as the news or talk shows. However, is social media safe to use? Social media has a great impact on everyone in society. While allowing your children or teenagers to engage in social media a few things to consider are the risks of youth using social media, what age is too young, and also how social media is useful in some cases. Children participate in cyber bullying now and even find themselves involved in bad habits, such as sexting (Schurgin O’Keefe). According to a recent poll conducted, over 22 percent of teenagers log onto their social media site more than ten times a day (Schurgin O’Keefe). Not everything is negative towards social media, but there are precautions that need to be taken when there is the youth involved.
She could explain anything to me and I would understand straight away. She helped a lot for my education and always was there to help. My parents knew that she could teach me and show how hard it is these days and how hard I should work. That is why they always made sure I saw her enough but it never was for me.
