in the comic books we saw her with batman as one of his love interests and sort of behind his shadows and in this film I tried to get away from that by showing her off as an individual with a different love interest and a different mission.
4) When auditioning people for the role of cat woman what qualities did you look for in them?
If they were able by themselves to differentiate Patience Philips from cat woman and show the difference within their audition and Halle berry was the perfect fit because she has had experience in portraying a super human in the x men movie.
5) What is the difference between your version of Cat Woman and the original Rob Kane Cat woman?
My version and interpretation of cat woman was a woman who was trying to find herself and find the reason why she had been murdered and why she had been given these powers she had. I didn’t her portray as the theft hungry character she was known to be when she was still known as “the cat”

What do you think the cats in the movie actually represented? (6 pts) This should be a minimum of one paragraph.
Modern day superheroes still reflect the misogynistic and chauvinist society in which they were first created and this will be argued with reference to two of the films studied.
These movies allowed female characters to embody all the contradictions that could make them a woman. They were portrayed as the “femme fatale” and also “mother,” the “seductress” and at the same time the “saint,” (Newsom, 2011). Female characters were multi-faceted during this time and had much more complexity and interesting qualities than in the movies we watch today. Today, only 16% of protagonists in movies are female, and the portrayal of these women is one of sexualization and dependence rather than complexity (Newsom, 2011).
On both the story and the movie “The Cat In The Hat” have a lot of differences, and similarities. The differences is that the fish in the movie has a name, and another difference is that Cat was balancing the fish. The similarity between the two, is that both had the mom leave, and both follow the same story line. Even though they both different, they’re both great stories to listen, or read
The choices that we make everyday greatly define the type of person we are. Everyone has their own opportunity costs, but what is someone willing to give up to achieve more of something else? This is exactly what Maxine Kingston does in her essay “No Name Woman.” She openly defies her traditional Chinese culture in order to write about her aunt, which would normally be extremely taboo in her family. She wishes to achieve a greater understanding of her aunt and the struggles she had to face being a defamation to her entire family. The opportunity cost Kingston faces with this is going against her family’s word and betraying their rule. Furthermore, Kingston uses a plethora of language and diction to convey her tone and show to us how she felt towards her aunt.

The presence of the two cats in the tale allows the narrator to see himself for who he truly is. In the beginning the narrator explains that his “tenderness of heart made him the jest of his companions”. (251) He also speaks of his love for animals that has remained with him from childhood into manhood. However, Poe contradicts this description of the narrator when he seems to become annoyed with the cat that he claims to love so much. While under the influence of alcohol the narrator is “fancied that the cat avoided his presence”(250) and as a result decides to brutally attack the cat. This black cat symbolizes the cruelty received by slaves from whites. The narrator not only “deliberately cuts one of the cats eyes from the sockets” (250) but he also goes on to hang the cat. Once the narrator successfully hangs the cat the tale begins to take a very dark and gothic-like turn. The racism and guilt of the narrator continues to haunt him once he has killed the black cat. “No Name Woman”, by Maxine Hong Kingston is the first chapter from Kingston’s collection of memoirs in “The Woman Warrior: Memoirs of a Girlhood Among Ghosts.” Kingston ceases the family-imposed silence that surrounds the secret of an aunt, whom she names No Name Woman. This no name aunt of hers became pregnant by a man that was not her husband. She committed the crime of adultery. The No Name Woman declines to make public the name of the man of who impregnated her. Thus keeping her silence. Her family and friends what nothing to do with her anymore. She is now a cast out, alone in a world that is very harsh. She is voiceless in this world. Kingston theorizes how her aunt became pregnant, and by putting forth this effort to write about her aunt’s agony filled story she gives her a voice, a voice that echoes and sheds light on important issues. Naming her aunt No Name Woman gives her the chance to honor her memory. This story was written to vindicate her aunt from the condemnation and criticism of her family. Since it is written in in a cultural context she gives way for the readers to have sympathy for her aunt, and understand the trial that she as a woman had to undergo.
The cat has afflicted so much insanity that the narrator felt tormented by its presence, only through murder did he feel at peace: “My happiness was supreme! The guilt of my dark deed disturbed me but little.” This irrational act marks the peak of the narrator’s insanity. Initially, he only saw the animal as something to be pitied, as time passed he viewed it as a creature of cruel intentions. Eventually, he eradicated all animal characteristics, turning his cat from a pitiable animal to a “thing”. The narrator’s overwhelming insanity becomes glaringly clear at this point; his insanity has reached its highest point, overrunning him with such madness that he killed his wife without hesitation or regret. His information has become completely unreliable, causing the reader to question what is true or not, and directing many inferences drawn from the text towards the narrator’s

A great companion is the cat, you get to pet a fluffy thing and get free scratches. Why cats? Well, cats are purr-ty interesting creatures. There is also a cat island named Tashirojima that are terrorized by stray cats in Japan. Women have made progress in the film industry in terms of the type of role they play in action films, although they are still portrayed as sex objects. The beginning of “a new type of female character” (Hirschman, 1993, pg. 1). 41-47) in the world of action films began in 1976 with Sigourney Weaver, who played the leading role in the blockbuster film ‘Aliens’ as Lt. Ellen Ripley. She was the captain of her own spaceship, plus she was the one who gave out all the orders. Until then, men had always been the ones giving the orders; to see a woman in that type of role was outlandish.
