In my opinion, it often the 'cost' that drives the consumer's decision on what cat food to purchase, even though our cats are very precious to us. I am sure we want the best food we can afford to give our pet, and what is best for him. In evaluating the issue, I believe that 'costs' can be evaluated in two ways.
First, we can get the best from the grocery store. Much of our decision is probably based on the advertising we hear or see through the media, and occasionally from a friend. It is often that we are at the store, cat food is on our list, our selection is on sale, it says it's 'natural' or some other persuasive word on the label, and we place it in our cart with little thought to read the ingredient list. At home, our cat likes it when

Our cat's health became the more important issue.
Some cat owners are probably a little on both sides when selecting the cat food; I know I am. Cost is important, but the quality of health our cat enjoys is also very important. We enjoy spoiling our cats, and our cats love to be pampered, so sometimes we supplement our cat's food with cat treats. Spoiling our cats with treats may not be a good decision either. He may want more because he is not nutritionally satisfied with the cat food we give him. How do we make the right decision?
As with ourselves, we feel better when we eat better, and so will our cats. Let me briefly share with you some information I found it articles that I

Grain based vs. grain free cat food: Analysis: Cats do not need grains. Most grains are used a fillers in canned cat food and as binding agents in dry cat food. Some manufactures believe that grains will add protein content, which it does, but cats need meat protein, not grain proteins. Some cats may also develop allergies to wheat or corn when added to their food.
3. Cat food with vegetables and fruits: Analysis: Often you can observe that vegetables, such as peas or corn, go right through a cat's digestive tract without being processed in the intestines. Cats process meat proteins, but not vegetables or fruits.
4. Dry cat food vs. Canned/moist cat food: Analysis: Dry cat food is not natural. It has carbohydrates for fillers, such as grains, to hold it together. The label may indicate that it has high protein content but most of the protein is grain or milk protein, not meat protein. Don't, however, feel that canned cat food is the only answer because it may also contain fillers including grains, meal, by-products, milk, etc. Several articles suggested that a combination of dry and canned may be the best for your
Then there is taste – and from all accounts, neither dog owners nor their pooches have any complaints about Wainwrights Dog Food – and that is important, because there are too many brands out there that promise all kinds of benefits, but that give your dog that slightly unhappy look at
The biggest weakness for Only Natural Pet Food is the limited shelf-life. To tackle this, we offer smaller bags in the existing stores first. Offering smaller bags the company does not have to stock as much on the shelfs, and allow the company to gauge the sales. Furthermore, with the smaller bags it gives the illusion to the customers of smaller price off setting the higher cost of the
You’ll see most people do not read the labels of the food they are buying. This is because they don’t care, it takes time and people nowadays are very busy. Like Berry said, “they buy what they want-or what they have been persuaded to want-within the limits of what they can get.” People are accustomed to buying what they have been taught to buy by their parents or caretakers as they were growing up. We learn to eat what we have been given as children and we tend to follow that same pattern of eating, which, for most people, is what we can
...for your pet today to have a healthy diet, it may be better in the long run for your wallet as well. If it costs a couple more dollars when you buy your dog’s food, you may be saving yourself hundreds later on by not having to take your dog to the veterinarian.
I have always thought it never mattered what kind of food animals got. Once I read Cat and Dog Food Differences Explained, I learned many things about the nutrients and foods that cats and dogs need. According to the article, cats will not eat food off the floor. A cat will paw and sniff at the food on the floor before rejecting it (Viegas). Dr. Allan Paul states, cats have higher protein needs than dogs do. He also states, cats use protein for an energy source. Cat food contains more than 30 percent of protein. They need extra protein to satisfy their requirements for energy. Vitamin A is a key ingredient for a cat to have in their food. Watson says, meat is the only source cats can get their acids. Cats like food that has a texture to it (Viegas). From what I gathered, dogs are very different when it comes to food. Dogs will eat off the floor and right out of your hand. Dr. Allan Paul says dog food contains 20 to 25 percent of protein. Dogs can get their acids two ways. They can get their source through meats and vegetable oil. Watson states, dogs can convert beta-carotene for their vitamin A
The best dog foods are not only available at your neighborhood grocery store, you can avail them at vet offices & feed stores and natural food stores too. However, it is imperative that you conduct a preliminary research so as to gauge the efficacy of the brand of your choice. Manufacturers that offer the best dog foods are always willing to heed to the customer’s concern and inquiries. They would keep dog owners updated on their latest products and would be glad to offer advice on canine
A soft purr, a gentle paw. A pet cat is a luxury that humans have indulged in for thousands of years, from their beginnings in Africa and the Middle East, all the way to homes here in 2014. Cats rival dogs as the most common pet in the United States, with 30.4% of houses owning 2.1 cats each (“U.S. Pet Ownership Statistics”).While working cats, such as farm cats, barn cats, and other rural, semi-feral animals may be kept for specific purposes of keeping pest animals at bay, the vast majority of kept cats in the US are pet cats, kept in homes for companionship and affection. Cat owners want the best for their pets, and as such is important to keep pet cat indoors, for their own safety as well as the safety of the local wildlife.
There is an abundance of facts and opinions buzzing around the internet about the health benefits of a homemade raw diet for pets versus feeding dry kibble. It is implied that many studies have been done for dry kibble and canned food, but a lack thereof when it comes to studies for homemade and raw diets. However, homemade and raw diets are becoming more popular today because of the fact people are becoming more aware of the dangers that commercial pet food can bring upon their pets. Low quality commercial pet food can lead to health problems, yet an improperly balanced homemade diet can be just as detrimental. With homemade raw diets being time consuming to make, pet owners should feed 50% dry kibble and 50% homemade raw diet in order for their pets to live longer, healthier lives. Feeding a raw diet is a balancing act, and a balanced diet is key to any living being’s health and life longevity.
On the contrary, plant protein sources, such as beans, lentils and nuts are considered to be incomplete, as they lack one or more of the essential amino acids that your body needs (1).
Dogs are extremely lovable and the only thing in life that they want is to be loved by their owners. With dogs, everything in life revolves around love and affection. The only thing that is on a cats mind is food and what they
Important nutrients to consider when planning a dog’s diet include water, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Often overlooked, water is a necessity to sustain life and maintain good health. It helps transport food through the digestive system and makes up around 70% of a dog’s weight. Proteins are essential for building body structures and for driving metabolism, while carbohydrates provide an extra energy source and contribute dietary fiber to aid digestion. Fats are necessary for many body systems, and contribute to making foods taste good to dogs. Although only needed in relatively small amounts, vitamins and minerals are necessary components for any healthy canine diet.
When you talk to pet owners about owning a cat versus a dog, it stirs up much controver-sy in many ways. By looking at both cats and dogs, the cat outweighs the dog in many ways, which makes the cat the superior selection when making a final decision on which one to get. Cats have very desirable qualities that make them an award winning choice to many owners. The qualities that appeal to most are the ability of the cat to live in small spaces, they do not eat large amounts of food for their meals, and they are very sedentary and independent in nature making them a low maintenance pet. One additional desired feature is cats are well suited for owners that have a very busy lifestyle and minimal time to give to their pet. This added feature

They just sleep, eat and play. Have you ever noticed that when a dog drinks water its all slobbery and gets all over the floor? Cats on the other hand have special bumps on their tongue to get water.
