Caspian's POV I stood behind a bush as I watched my brother kissing the mortal woman. It was always the do and trash conception, but he has been with that woman for months, I would be lying if I said there were no sparks. Seeing this made me disgusted, I never imagined Farouk ever falling in love, especially with a mortal. Stepping into the sunlight, away from the bush, I shouted at him. Startled, Farouk turned away from the woman and walked gracefully towards me. "What is it, Caspian?" "What are you doing with the mortal, Farouk?" I said in a cold and murderous voice. "Do you love her? Or is this a joke?" "Caspian, I think you know what is happening between me and Isabella," Farouk said, and he didn't seem affected by my cold voice. …show more content…

C.S. Lewis’s book, Prince Caspian, is a tale of three kings: King Miraz, Aslan, and Prince Caspian. Each of these kings portrays the diversity between the different personas of a king, or leader, of a country. King Miraz for example, represents the selfishness and deceit that takes place in a ruler that is too consumed by his throne. While Prince Caspian shows the peace, justice, and hard work that comes when the king is truly concerned for the good of their subjects. Lastly, Aslan represents everything good about a ruler. He displays the perfect love that comes with being a leader. Prince Caspian subconsciously uncovers the three different types of rulers; those who are untrustworthy and selfish, those who do not inherit, but are appointed authority and work to be a successful leader through the restoration of a broken government, and lastly, the ruler who is loved by every subject in their kingdom and is known for their grace and wit.
Robert Browning’s My Last Duchess is a dramatic monologue narrated by the Duke of Ferrara Even a passing gaze to this poem would paint a picture of a selfish prick of a husband and a wife whose mere fault was naivete, someone who was merely appreciative of the beauty around her, a quality that bugged her husband to the point where he accuses her of being unfaithful and gets her killed. The narrator of the poem indicates an arrogance embedded so deep in a bold sense of male superiority.

My feet ache. My ears ring and my hands sting from the cool steel handle of my sidearm I ripped off the body of a collector. I don’t know why they’re coming after me--I had paid my rent in full a whole day before the cut off date--and yet here they stand, poised outside my door with automatic rifles screaming “Heretic! Death to the false Prophet!” I didn’t have a clue to what they meant. Maybe they were referring to the shrine I had created in the attic of my townhouse dedicated to Silvus, the deity of lightning. Probably not, though. Maybe they mixed up my house with the Joi dealer next door.
I could start off my story by telling you why Byblos, Lebanon is so important to me. But before that, I want you to know why it is such a memorable place. First of all, the place is pretty goddamn beautiful. I’d be lying if I told you that it's possible to get bored in that huge bastard. The people themselves are a bunch of happy and energetic souls.

I don't know what I did wrong. I asked Amir agha, but he said I hadn't done anything. I would have stopped doing it, then maybe Father and I wouldn't have left. Before the kite tournament, Amir was my best friend, and we would always play together, but then he didn't want me around any more. I don't know why.
Now there was no turning back. Rusalka had to enter a whole new world because she originally lived in the water. She was trying to adjust to the changes and no voice. Now she was chasing after a Prince that lives on land. Someone she wanted to spend forever with and would be willing to do anything to have that dream come true. Within the story, love got complicated and confusing, one thing after another. Just like life is. It seemed as if the future did not want to see the prince and rusalka together. The Prince tragically fell in love with another woman when he had Rusalka right in front of his face, which loved him so much. That was something that frustrated her, she wanted to tell the prince everything she was going thru and how she felt about him but she could not without a voice. She did not think that this was going to be an issue for them. Imagining how she might have felt makes my heart break into a million pieces. The heartbreak she was feeling must have been unbearable and backstabbing of the thought that there would be a different outcome than what turned out to be. Sometimes we want something so bad we become blinded by the truth that is right in front of us not thinking about what could happen to us trying to
After Tereza arrives to Prague to visit Tomas, he is both overjoyed and concerned about what will happen with Tereza, especially after he sees her luggage. “He had celebrated [his divorce] the way others celebrated marriage… He tried to design his life in such a way that no woman could ever move in with a suitcase… the enormously heavy suitcase stood by the bed” (Kundera, 10). Tomas hates the life of weight, and he enjoys his erotic friendships. We can see in his inner monologue that after his messy divorce with his previous wife, he vowed never to take on another woman's weight.
