I could start off my story by telling you why Byblos, Lebanon is so important to me. But before that, I want you to know why it is such a memorable place. First of all, the place is pretty goddamn beautiful. I’d be lying if I told you that it's possible to get bored in that huge bastard. The people themselves are a bunch of happy and energetic souls. While we're talking about the people, I’d like to say that they are really good conversationalists. It’s swell to chew the fat with them while taking a walk around the marketplace. It’s quite easy to start a conversation with the people about anything in Byblos. On my trip there while I was visiting family we were eating lunch at a restaurant and I had this great conversation with a young lady. …show more content…
Anyways, what I’m saying is that you don’t have to worry about phonies in Byblos, that’s for sure. Don’t get me started on the view and feel of Byblos. It’s on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and the view from the restaurant was crazy. There were so many boats parked at that goddam dock that I wanted to take one for a spin. While I was on the boat the waves were lousy. The whole boat rocked back and forth as we were cruising in the water. If you thought the view from the dock was better than the view from the boat, you’d practically be stupid. The lights from the city and the bourgeois restaurants penetrated the night sky. While directly above us you could see practically half of the goddam solar system. The ride back was quite underwhelming. When we got out of the ship, I was feeling quite lousy. The waves twisted my stomach and I felt sick all of a sudden. I didn’t let that ruin my trip though. The best part of Byblos in my opinion is the marketplace. The people were selling antique items, fossils, traditional food, and tourist merchandise. Everyone there was smiling from ear to ear. The whole feel of the place was very pleasant. The old-fashioned market made it feel like we were in the ancient times we study about in
It has been too long since I last wrote to you, so I thought I would inform you on momentous events that happened in my life in the last little while. The previous time I heard from you was when Gabriel turned three. I can’t believe he is about to become a teenager now. My goodness, time flies by so fast. I was so ecstatic when I saw your prior letter arrive in my mail.
Oh dear! I can't believe what I just did, it was so hilarious, I hope
I also don't own the idea, it was requested to me by the wonderful Amanda. Thank you so much! I hope I did this idea justice.
By now the conversation has almost become a monologue, Nicodemus only interjecting to allow Jesus to launch into further thoughts, but from a slightly different direction!
All around me there is a mixture of excitement and fear. People are in pain, shocked with disbelief, upset. In an instant millions of emotions went from astounded, excited, and anxious, to heartbroken and defeated. I’m in shock and can’t even begin to understand how it was that I got here. It’s January 19, 2014. The Seattle Seahawks just beat the San Francisco 49ers in the toughest game I can recall. I’m Richard Sherman, and I’m the reason why they won. I’m the best in the NFL, and everyone is about to know it. But what I still can’t understand is, how did I get here?
Hello, i’m Terance, Terance Rileys and I am one of the of the victims that survived the most scariest thing I have ever experienced. It all started when my friends Melanie, Dorbie, and Yalaina decided to go to a party. Taylie Ann Marie’s party, she was the most popular girl in school. I was surprised when Taylor invited Melanie and Yalaina, but not Dorbie. You could obviously tell she had a crush on him, always twirling her hair around him and flirting and it makes me was to barf.
I stare into a black void of stars and the moon. Still undecided to lay perfectly still or stand up and move, but I don’t. I'm in pain not because of my cancer or the fact that were all dying some faster than others. But the fact that Augustus is still gone and isn't coming back. I know that he's been gone for 3 years.
What good news I have to tell you. The best of times is to come! Banquo and I crossed paths with three vaguely human looking creatures who were dressed in long and loose black robes. Their faces only had few distinct human qualities. These three women, with their hunched backs and unsettling aura had wondrous things to say, despite their hideous appearance.
A year has gone by since I began living with my fiancé, Felix Knox. By the time a year went by I felt comfortable enough that I allowed Felix to kiss me and hug me, but nothing more than just that. He's keeping his word by not touching me without me allowing him to. After a year living here I began to get used to where the majority of the rooms we used frequently were located. I knew where the: dining hall, Felix's bedroom and office, my bedroom, garden, sunroom, library/study, and the ballroom were at.
Sibyl lay cold and defeated on the floor, where Dorian had abandoned her. The room was utterly silent, with only the harsh and unforgiving sound of the wind outside; the curtains of the windows pulled across, which heightened the sense of eeriness within the room as the wind pushed on them, causing them to ripple, similar to a flag in a breeze, inducing the faint light from the outside to flicker. Sibyl imagined what life would give to her if she was to be with her Prince Charming; the utmost joyfulness it would grant. However, she had been released from Dorian’s grip.
I was washing the dishes when this boy, Paco, that worked with me and was a couple of years younger, played with a napkin. He moved, then turned as if he was in an arena in front of a bull. He seemed to enjoy the game, yet he took it very seriously. I could not help but smile looking at him. “How is the bull?”
I was planning to sign up for Greek again, as it was the only language at which I was at all proficient. But when I told this to the academic counselor to whom I had been assigned—a French teacher named Georges Laforgue, with olive skin and a pinched, long-nostriled nose like a turtle’s—he only smiled, and pressed the tips of his fingers together. “I am afraid there may be a problem,” he said, in accented English. “Why?” “There is only one teacher of ancient Greek here and he is very particular about his students.”
The staff's service was five stars and the fact that I had made friends had made it even better. Further into my trip I decided to take a quick trip back to Male. Some new friends and I were heading over there to see what shops had to offer. The Antique and Style Mart was one of the first places we stopped at.
...ligious, and enjoy traditional Greek food.? Crete is a fascinating place with a unique culture, interesting sites, rich history, and natural beauty which anyone would be fortunate to experience during their lifetime.
From the very first moment we hit those turquoise barriers on the side of the highway, I fell in love. The crystal blue waters, the sun shining, and the warm weather were what made The Florida Keys my dream home. I could not wait to get into the water and see what life was like in what some would call “another world.” When we were first able to get into the water, it was eye opening. I had not seen something like that since I was a little girl.
