“The process of finding and hiring the best-qualified candidate (from within or outside of an organization) for a job opening, in a timely and cost effective manner” (Business Dictionary.com, 2014).The outcomes of an organization improves with better recruitment strategies and planning. Higher the efficient rate of recruitment more likely the rate of hiring and retaining the satisfied employees. An effective recruitment process provides a belief of realizing that an organization has recruited the right person for the desired position. A typical recruitment process includes many steps from collecting resume till conducting interviews and hiring best candidate.
With reference to this project report, the main objective is to put focus on the Recruitment process and its effectiveness. This report carries a brief Introduction of Recruitment, its Definition, History and Purpose, Measurement of Recruitment Process, Theories related with Effective Recruitment, its Assumptions and finally a Case report to analyze the causes and effects related with process and how the employers go about recruiting and selecting capable candidates. Moreover, this report reflects the Limitations based on analysis of the case and the Potentials in the global context.
In order to study the effectiveness of the Recruitment practices, this project report focuses on a case study of PepsiCo (China). As this company was experiencing a high turnover rate in the early probation period on 2011, they conducted a survey who left the company within the probation period and found out several reasons and responses from the employees. Moreover, now the organizations focuses on their effective recruitment policies to create a flexible pattern which offers different execution styles such as flexi-timing in order to retain the employees and hence reducing their rate of turnover.
To make themselves best and top choice, an organization has to adopt better and efficient recruitment process. As an employer to be acknowledged in the employment business, the recruiter should target the cutting edge approach of inviting applicants, estimating and describing job profile and finally creating a brand image for themselves. As a result, it is an organization’s obligation for the top management to search better candidate and develop an effective recruitment process and play an important role in organizations productivity and success in future (K, 2010).
