The Mission Statement for the golf course is “To maintain and operate Hillandale golf course, a public recreational facility, open for all area residents”. Marty Anderson was an employee for Family Auto Repair (FAR) in Memphis and was transfer to their Jackson store, which was an hour and a half from his house. The company allow Marty to use a company vehicle to make his long commute, although he had his own vehicle. The terms of the explicit permission to use the vehicle were: to and from work, during lunch breaks, and to deliver and transfer items between FAR’s two facilities either before work or on his way home. Marty Anderson became a victim of the dilemma when he fell asleep at the wheel and injured a man, Steve Spritzer, in the company vehicle, at a time when he did not have explicit permission to be using the vehicle. Marty Anderson’s case can be argued in his favor or in FAR’s favor,
Golf is the ultimate battle between man and nature. It is a beautiful sport in which dreams come true and hearts are broken. Man is challenged on every stroke by nature’s elements. Wind and rain are only a few of the conditions that affect this great game. Undulating hills, sand bunkers, thick rough, and even creeks and ponds come into play on most golf courses. These features are fierce at Augusta National Golf Course. Located along the fall line, the natural beauty of the region is the perfect complement to this championship golf course. Every spring when the flowers are in full bloom, Augusta plays host to The Masters Championship and is transformed into the Mecca of Golf.

The New Norris House was conceived through the original Norris House which was started in 1933 by the Tennessee Valley Authority. It originated in one of the first planned communities in the United States. The TVA constructed a model community in Norris, Tennessee as a part of the Norris Dam construction project. That was where the Norris House originated. The house was the foundation for affordable and efficient housing through the incorporation of new technologies during those times. The TVA tested new materials as well as new technologies within the realm of municipal electricity, water, and sanitation. The New Norris House is a modern days take on the idea of what the original Norris House sought to accomplish during its time. The New Norris House takes on the challenge of creating an affordable and sustainable building approach towards housing. Ideally, they took on the small scale of the family scale residence. Through similar guidelines that the original project went through, the New Norris House uses footpaths and roads to connect to schools, services, and a central common. It also incorporates the greenbelt that still exists for appeal and to preserve some of the natural aspects of the site. “The process required that the team confront and resolve not only technological or scientific challenges; but also legal, social, and aesthetic issues that currently restrict green construction.”
From its initial existence R&D and innovative products had been the lifeline of CGC. When Callaway bought into the company his first initiative was to develop original products. Innovation and superior performing products are important in golf because equipment is thought to have a significant impact on player performance. Moreover, innovation was important because CGC had to be the technological leader to sell its products at premium price and continue to exceed customer expectations. The industry was also characterized as being driven by new product development because manufacturers were trying to bet each other to the next "best club" so CGC had to manufacture products that were differentiated from its own existing products as well as those of its competitors.
Callaway Golf Company began to take form in 1983, after Ely Reeves Callaway Jr. sold Callaway Vineyard and Winery for a $9 million dollar profit. Shortly after the sell of the winery, Callaway ventured in to the golf equipment industry and bought 50 percent of Hickory Stick USA. Callaway knew from the very beginning that this company’s profits were limited as long as the product line wasn’t changing. “Callaway noticed that most golf equipment had changed very little since the 1920s and believed that , due to the difficulty of the game of golf, recreational golfers would be willing to invest in high-tech, premium-priced clubs if such clubs could improve their game by being more forgiving of a less-than-optimum swing.” (Thompson, c205) Callaway then purchased the company outright and changed the name to Callaway Hickory Stick USA and then hires Richard Helmstetter as the companies’ chief club designer. With the help of five aerospace engineers, Helmstetter developed line of clubs that was set apart form competing brands by its technological innovation. In 1988, the S2H2 was launched as well as another name change to Callaway Golf Company. In 1992, sales are more than double recent years and Callaway Golf Company goes public and begins trading on the NYSE. Throughout the 90’s, Callaway leads the golf equipment industry with ongoing new lines of clubs and eventually adds golfing apparel. Donald Dye, Callaway’s new CEO, took the much of the blame for the downturn in Callaway Golf Company. Dye was ultimately responsible for initiatives that took managements focus off golf clubs. The company’s financial and market performance suffered immensely in 1998 causing Ely Callaway to return to rebuild the company. The textbook states on page c208, “Ely Callaway’s first efforts upon his return to active management at Callaway Golf were to ‘direct resources---talent, energy, and money--- in an ever-increasing degree toward the creation, design, production, sale and service of new and better products.’” In Callaway’s turnaround strategy, he initiated a restructuring program and operational improvements. By the end of 1998, Callaway’s strategies allowed the company to regain it s technological leadership.
There is no ignoring the great increase in the golfing industry over the past decade. It is becoming the fastest growing sport all over the world. It is already the fastest growing sport in the United States. The game and its uniqueness has caught the eye of many people all over the world and in turn that catches the eye of many businesses that might want to use golf to their advantage by understanding the foreign market and try and relate there business to golf.
This monument is intended to honor all the people that do nothing but good for this world and are treated unfairly because of what they look like or how they think. These people should be remembered because they were treated poorly and even though they were treated badly they continued to do nothing but good for the world and no matter how hard times got they continued to stay strong without using any form of violence, but only peace to get their ideas across. We owe it to them because they help us every day without us thanking them or even recognizing it. The fact is that we need those kinds of people, the kind that helps their neighbors without asking for any pay, the kind that selflessly put themselves in danger for the sake of others, and

Currently, I live with my parents and in on-campus housing. Due to my personal circumstances, this arrangement makes the most sense for my current financial situation, as I am making little income while taking classes. During the school year (September-December & February-May) I live in on-campus housing at St. Catherine eUniversity. In particular, I live in Stanton Hall, which cost $2,500 a semester with amenities included (St Catherine University, n.d.a.). This living situation is the most realistic circumstance for, as on-campus housing is affordable and has a flat rate by year, without long-term, binding contracts that may be associated with general rental housing. Outside of the school year, I have been choosing to live with my parents, up in Sauk Rapids, MN. As I possess few resources to to support myself financially, my most reasonable option is to utilize the only free options I have for housing, which means living at home. Luckily, the use of the combination of these two housing options enables me to avoid many of the common issues with alternate forms of living situations, particularly owning and off-campus housing.
1. The philosophy behind the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee is to have the guests act as quality-assurance inspectors by identifying quality deficiencies and reporting them to hotel employees. I do think that this is a good way to improve service quality; however, I am not sure that it is the best way. While it may seem to consumers that employees will try harder to satisfy them, if employees are empowered to refund a customer’s money, they do not have to answer to management, they can just do it.

During the Honor’s college conference on undergraduate engagement, I attended the Habitat for Humanity session and the health care session. Both of these were very intriguing and I fairly enjoyed them both. Although they were equally enjoyable, I must say that the Habitat for Humanity session was the utmost interesting of the two. I felt it was a very worthy cause for those in need and living in unsafe conditions. The nonprofit organization allows families within a certain income have a new home built with no interest rates and the organization will work with families on their payments. Habitat for Humanity brings simple and affordable homes to low-income individuals.
