Capulets and Montagues in 4th Street Fight The Capulets and Montagues have had A series of street fights and luckily no one has been seriously injured before. The Prince of Verona has stated that if any more street fights take place then both families will have heavy fines and other penalties. The quarrels between the montagues and capulets since anyone can remember, no one really knows how they began or if they will ever finish. They are the two biggest families in Verona, I believe they are fighting over land ownership. The Youngest member of the Montagues and the only Heir and son of Old Montague was seen at the Capulets latest party by Tybalt (a master of the sword and cousin of the Montagues) our correspondent at the party said that Tybalt was angered at something and speaking to old capulet about a certain capulet who shall not be named. A reliable source tells us that a group of masked Montagues were at the party and Romeo was spotted with Juliet Capulet (Montagues only daughter). The Fight Breaks Loose! Mercutio ( a dear cousin of the prince of Verona) ,who happened to be a very good freind of romeo and romeos cousin Benvolio, was with Benvolio when Tybalt (who gets angered very easily) was walking the streets looking for young romeo (whos about 5 years younger than Tybalt); onlookers reported that Mercutio looked worried when Tybalt said that he wanted A FIGHT with romeo about the party. Mercutio was scared for ROmeo because Tybalt is a fighting machine. They try to pick fights with each other and annoy each other as much as possible, they soon start fighting and both laugh about, at this point what no one knew was that Tybalt was getting very angry with Mercutios mocking and playing style of fighting. As romeo tried to break up the fight he held Mercutio back and as he did, this blocked His line of vision, Tybalt jabbed him with the extremely sharp point of the sword and then ran as fast as he could.
He of course thought that the only way to stop the battles between the two families was for Romeo and Juliet to get married. A few hours after the secret marriage between Romeo and Juliet, the ancient grudge. between the families, yet again, becomes an issue. Tybalt of the The Capulet family, acting out of spite, goes to start a fight with Romeo. Romeo of course knows that Tybalt is his kinsman now and avoids.
William Shakespeare made Tybalt Capulet as the foil character for Romeo Montague. There are similarities between Tybalt and Romeo they both care about Juliet. They have differences because they are from different families and different ways of growing up. Tybalt judged Romeo for his name and not for his character.
Mercutio can be blamed for Romeo and Juliet’s peril because he initiated the fight with Tybalt and forced Romeo to go to the Capulet’s party. At the beginning of the play, Romeo gets invited to the Capulet’s party by a servant, unless he was a Montague. At first, Romeo did not want to go, but Mercutio eventually convinced him under the pretext that Rosaline, Romeo’s love, was going to be there. The next day, Tybalt, a Capulet, went looking for Romeo because he knew that Romeo was at the Capulet party. Instead, he stumbled upon Mercutio and Benvolio and asked them where he could find Romeo. However, Mercutio did not want to tell him and insisted on having a duel. Tybalt killed Mercutio during the fight, and Romeo kills Tybalt because he has the need to avenge his friend. Unfortunately, Prince Escalus punished Romeo by banishing him from Verona. This made Romeo and Juliet’s love
Women of the middle ages ran the households. Women of higher class held more responsibilities and therefore often left the duties of their children to a nurse. The responsibilities that came with running a household made some mothers to be distant from their children.(www.thefinertimes.com) Lady capulet in the play Romeo and Juliet demonstrates this quote to apply to the way she mothered her child. Throughout the play, Lady Capulet exhibits to be distant, demanding, yet caring of her family despise her poised attitude. A theme that Shakespeare perhaps was trying to get across was “ No matter how much is cared about a person; If not there for that person and ask them to do exactly what is wished, then there is no guarantee that that person will
Romeo was very loyal to his friends and family, and it is possible that Mercutio thought that Romeo would help him fight off Tybalt (since he was unaware of Romeo and Juliet’s secret marriage that somewhat united Romeo and Tybalt). However, this argument is easily deemed invalid. Romeo was not in the town square when the fight had first begun, so Mercutio expected his help in the fight would be a far-fetched idea. A person who is not present cannot help or hinder the situation at hand. In addition, Romeo tried to break up the fight when he said, “Gentlemen, for shame forbear this outrage!
There are two families that hate each other Romeo's family the Montague's and Juliet's family the Capulet's. The families have hated each other for many generations. Romeo and Juliet met at a party even though Lord Capulet has found Juliet a husband but she doesn't like him and falls in love with Romeo who was previously in love with Rosaline. Romeo and Juliet get married in secret hoping in the long run that this deed will end the family feud but Juliet's family don't know about the wedding. Mercutio Romeo's best friend and Tybalt Juliet's cousin get into a fight and Mercutio dies but Romeo turns up and kills Tybalt. Romeo is banished to Mantua for killing Tybalt so Juliet isn't happy because she has lost two of the people she cares about most.
After catching Romeo at a party he was not supposed to be at, Tybalt had it out for Romeo. Just after Romeo and Juliet’s wedding, Tybalt comes looking for him wanting to fight. Romeo does not want to fight because he now loves Tybalt since he is family to him, but neither Tybalt or anyone else knows this reason. Quickly, Mercutio steps in and tells Tybalt that he will fight him in honour of Romeo. Sadly, this led to the death of Mercutio.
Everyone knows about the famous Capulet-Montague rivalry but does anyone actually know where it came from? Neither do we, but we have used facts to take a pretty good “stab” at what has been causing all the commotion in the streets of Verona for years. The best guess we have is that a Capulet was murdered in a party that they most likely hosted. A noteworthy fact is that the Capulets held parties where most everyone wore masks. This would have been a unpassable opportunity for someone plotting a crime. Maybe someone was claiming revenge, or quite possibly someone digested a little too much of “ye olde wine”.
The Montague and Capulet families had hated each other for a long time. They have fought in the streets of Verona three times according to the Prince. Friar Lawrence saw an
First, it starts off with the Capulet Party. Romeo and Benvolio are invited by a servant who didn’t realize they were Montagues. The boys weren’t there to cause trouble; they went to have a good time. Romeo didn’t even intend to fall for juliet ; He was trying to get over his last love Rosaline. Tybalt spotted Romeo and figured he was a Montague. Not short after that, He saw him interacting with Juliet; His cousin. He told his uncle but his uncle and offered to fight him but his uncle didn’t care about him being a Montague because it was a party. Because his Uncle Capulet didn’t show reaction Tybalt decided to take things into his own
Romeo and Juliet were meant to live a happy ending, but something comes in between the two lovers. This story/play ends in a tragedy when Juliet’s father, Lord Capulet, comes along. He decides for Juliet that Paris is the best husband for her, when he actually doesn’t know the truth about Romeo and Juliet’s relationship. Juliet tries to tell his father that she is married to Romeo, but he doesn’t listen to her. She comes up with a plan to live happily with Romeo, when her father decided to unknowingly twist her plan.
The Montagues and the Capulets feel remorseful in the end because they forgave each other after their children have died and I think they should be pardoned. They understood that holding grudges, to their extent, led to terrible outcomes and they surely feel terrible for having their children sacrifice their lives. Therefore, further punishing them would be pushing them over the edge. They would go crazy or commit suicide, anyways, you get my point. It would be too much for them, especially at their (advancing) ages.
Sometimes it is better to keep a secret, rather than tell everyone. Sometimes a person just has to wait for the right moment to tell everyone. In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet have to keep their marriage a secret, and they can't tell anyone. They just have to wait for the right moment, but unfortunately, that right moment never comes. The feud between the Montagues and Capulets is ultimately responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths because it forced Romeo, Juliet, and their allies to keep their marriage a secret.
“Where be these enemies?—Capulet! Montague! See what a scourge is laid upon your hate, that heaven finds means to kill your joys with love! And I, for winking at your discords, too have lost a brace of kinsman” (5.3.291-295). The Prince is stating clearly that only the Capulets and the Montagues are to be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. The one trigger of hate that started the feud was cancelled out by the two deaths of the youngest children in each family. Despite the sorrow being shared by everyone, the Prince finds a person to blame and uses this to end the feud, which he has been trying to do since he gained control of Verona. It wasn’t enough for Capulet to end the feud after the death of Mercutio and Tybalt because he was too stubborn about being the best. He ignored the wishes of his own daughter when he wanted her to marry Tybalt due to his inability to feel true emotions for others, until it is too
When Lady Montague is first introduced, she is expressing relief that her son was not present to witness a fight. “O where is Romeo, saw you him today?/ Right glad I am he was not at this fray” (1.1.111112). Her love for Romeo is so strong, that upon learning of his exile, later in the play, Lady Montague dies of heartache. Lord Montague is similarly portrayed as a loving parent. He comes to Romeo’s defense when speaking to Prince Escalus. “Not Romeo, Prince, he was Mercutio’s friend./ His fault concludes but what the law should end,/ The life of Tybalt” (3.1.180182). The next time Lord Montague appears in the play, he is offering the Capulets a statue of Juliet made of pure gold to end the rivalry that resulted in their children’s death. It is likely that Shakespeare included less detail about the Montagues, because their relationship with Romeo is far more simple than the relationship of the
