What a question to ponder! I have tried writing this essay many times and have realized that this is a very difficult topic. “Is it possible to love someone too much?” If you look at the question you first must define what love is and what it means to you before you can determine if it is actually possible to love someone too much.
The Webster Dictionary defines love as “profoundly tender, a passionate affection for another person”. In my opinion, to love someone is to care not only about them as a person but also about their well being. You can love a person even if that individual does not feel the same way about you, or if the person just doesn’t understand why you are feeling this way toward him or her. It’s like when you’re a little kid and your parents tell you all the stuff not to touch, not to do, and they keep on reminding you over and over again. They’re reminding you constantly, not to get on your nerves, but because they don’t want you to get hurt. They love you, and because of this strong feeling of love, they want to make sure you are safe.
To love someone is to have such strong feelings, so deeply felt that your life would not be complete or the same without them. You would do anything in the world to be with them and you will do absolutely everything for them because it feels good and right. This reminds me of a song by Canadian artist Brian Adams Everything I do I do it for you. He sings of a strong love in this song. A love that everything he does makes...
Infatuation, excessive, and withdrawn contribute to an unhealthy relationship as seen in the correlation between Romeo and Juliet. Infatuation can cause a relationship to be almost unreal and even conditional. This can lead to major problems for example, Romeo and Juliet took their new love too fast which left two families grieving. Someone acting excessive can cause the other to feel chained down or uncomfortable. This characteristic can also cause one of the parties to act in an abnormal and strange way. Another problem is when one is
Throughout the media, love is defined in various manners. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, “love is defined as a strong feeling or constant affection for a person.” Love can be demonstrated between a family, a couple, or even a pet. Oftentimes, in the modern world, love is often mistaken for several meanings. In the movie, Marley & Me, love is shown between an owner and its pet and the strong bond of love that they have for one another. Though, in the novel, Safe Haven, love is presented between a man and a woman. Another way that love demonstrated differently is in the movie, Fireproof; love is defined within a family. In the modern world, love is usually portrayed between a man and a woman, however, love can be represented within a family and an owner and its pet.
Love means you are willing to do everything for the one you love. You will fight for the one
Love is not a noun to be defined, but rather a verb to be acted upon. When one loves someone or something it is action that causes them to achieve change and greatness. Love makes humans vulnerable and causes us to open up to others and present ourselves for who we truly are. Love, acceptance, fear, and race a long with other topics are addressed in James Baldwin’s book, The Fire Next time. In this book he goes into great depth about the meaning of love. Through my interpretations, I believe Baldwin is telling his audience that we as humans, go through life with a mask in order to hide who we really are. It is love however, that causes vulnerability and takes off this mask we carry with us on a daily basis.
he Power of Love Love is a powerful emotion that affects everyone at some time in their lives. According to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, love is defined as a feeling of strong and constant affection for someone(1). Love can refer to the feelings between a couple in a romantic relationship, or it can refer to the affection one would have with a friend. When love is shown, each person cares about the other. Sometimes, love can be hypnotizing, causing one to do something they would not do normally.
Love is said to be one of the most desired things in life. People long for it, search for it, and crave it. It can come in the form of partners, friends, or just simply family. To some, love is something of a necessity in life, where some would rather turn a cold shoulder to it. Love can be the mixture of passion, need, lust, loyalty, and blood. Love can be extraordinary and breathtaking. Love being held so high can also be dangerous. Love can drive people to numerous mad things with it dangerously so full of craze and passion.
Love is having compassion for others, sharing feelings and your life with another person, as well as, having faith in others and forgiving those we love for the any errs that they may make. Most of all, we must be committed to those we love. Of course, this is only my opinion. No matter how long I try to explain what love is ultimately it is up to you, the reader, to define what love is to you. So let me leave you now with the words of the great Humanist Erich Fromm, "Can anything be learned about the art of love, except by practicing it?"
Love is not usually well defined. People often think that they are in love, but they cant explain it. There is a great dealing of confusion of the words love, and infatuation. Love may include romance, infatuation, affection and tenderness. But it could be love if one or more of the elements are not present. The definition of love varies from person to person. Love is essential element for all relationships. Much of what is written about love is either brief or mocking. Society in general is very cruel and heartless toward real love of any kind. Modern writing mocks marriages, husbands and wives, but condones adultery, and other obscene values. Real love is a mystery to most people. Most people never realize the true potential or value of love, nor do they learn to practice the art of love.
To answer the question what is love we must understand that love is complex and powerful. It can bring us back to life or destroy us there for we will do almost anything to experience love. Without it we feel extremely empty and lonely in the world. Love gives us that feeling of being, specialty and uniqueness. It makes us become one of a kind, and accepted for who we truly are. Love is caring, and sharing, trust, affection, passion admiration, and much
Love is Never Enough begins by addressing the primary issue head on, negative thinking. The book later goes on to discuss specific actions that couples may take to save or strengthen their relationship, but the core theme of how underlying thoughts influence the situation, never departs. Dr. Beck explains how these underlying thoughts do not merely nudge people one way or another, but that they have an impact on people so strong, that they frequently determine the outcome of a situation.
Love, what is it? Love is a powerful feeling that is expressed in many ways throughout our society between men and women. Sometimes powerful feelings can have a negative ending, such as the ending in the novel Lolita.
But what happens when love is thrown around without a second thought? Has this four letter word become an overused cliché? Has love been replaced with lust? Is there such a thing as true love? This last question has been asked throughout history, while many have argued and debated over the final answer.
LOVE: Love can be defined as a sincere intense tender affection for another person. It is an expression of adoration and trust, which serves as a double-edge knife; it can be a person’s strength or weakness. Despite being a basic human emotion, there is no actual way to describe love, which applies to all people. This is said because love is expressed in several different ways, and can take on numerous forms; an individual cannot decide when, how, and where love appears, as love is unpredictable. In saying that, love is generally defined as a romantic affection for another individual.
Love can make you do anything and sacrifice for what will be better in the end. Love is intense and passionate. Everything seems brighter, happier, more wonderful, and just all around better when you’re in love. If you find love, cherish it and don’t let it go. Love frees us all from all the weight and pain of
What is love? Love is a very special and meaningful word to each human being. Each human being has his/her own thoughts about love to guide himself/herself to land safely and smoothly into the kingdom of Love. Without this preconceived idea of love, people would be acting like a blind person searching for the light with thousand of obstacles in front of him.
