What does the word “love” mean? Love is one of those things that means different things to different people. If you would look the word love up in the dictionary, you would find this: “an intense feeling of deep affection.” For some people, love can be purely romantic or even just purely sexual. For others, real love can only exist between family members or between people and a god. For some people, it is felt for your partners, family, pets, or even inanimate objects. None of the people are right or wrong, but I do know one thing, love is very powerful. Love is overused in today's world, people say they love someone because of the way they look or their body. Marriages and partnerships are often build on common ground that people find when they first meet, which can be as deep as sharing religious or philosophical beliefs, or even as simple as finding that you both love the same movie, book, song. Love is the most powerful emotion that most of us will ever experience. People can do some grateful things out of hate and fear, but love can push us to do much, much worse. Love is real. When you think of love, the first thing that comes to mind is that happy, prefect, smiling couple that you see in the movies. Every couple has ups and downs, it's just how you get through those times. Love is a real feeling that you can feel, that is unexplainable. There are some exceptions, but I think this is especially true for teenagers and young adults. I might be one of those people who do not fully understand the topic of love, but I hope to better understand the topic of love and its true meaning is this course.
