Business morals are a type of expert morals that analyzes moral standards and morals or honorable issues that emerge in a matter. Business morals apply to all parts of business behavior and its pertinence to the behavior of people and business association in general. This paper will focus on whether or not Ramona Alexander should sign a contract with Next Step Herbal Health Company. I will outline discussion points and draw my conclusion from the following ethical concepts, integrity, honesty, business code of ethics, and biblical, to suppose my decision as to why I would advise Ramona against signing a contract with Next Step Herbal Health.

Ramona faces a difficult decision after her trip to the headquarters of Next Step Herbal Health. Next Step offered her a lucrative starting salary plus commissions, and a junior manager position. Ramona should not take the position with Next Step due to its questionable business practices, the dismissiveness of the Next Step recruiter when questioned regarding the company’s ethics code and the CEO exhibiting non-ethical and immoral behavior.
The movie “Glengarry Glen Ross” presented a series of ethical dilemmas that surround a group of salesmen working for a real estate company. The value of business ethics was clearly undermined and ignored in the movie as the salesmen find alternatives to keep their jobs. The movie is very effective in illustrating how unethical business practices can easily exist in the business world. Most of the time, unethical business practices remain strong in the business world because of the culture that exists within companies. In this film, the sudden demands from management forced employees to become irrational and commit unethical business practices. In fear of losing their jobs, employees were pressured to increase sales despite possible ethical ramifications. From the film, it is right to conclude that a business transaction should only be executed after all legal and ethical ramifications have been considered; and also if it will be determined legal and ethical to society.

After the recruiters last remark about Ramona being a Liberty grad and assuming that she was a Christian, therefore she could probably “talk the talk” this directly infers that Ramona would be used as their platform in a undesirable way to simply to bring in new distributors in the South and I’m sure any other place they could use Ramona to bait Christian
GRPS is a public school district, therefore considered a non-profit organization. The majority of the funds that enter the district are allocated by the local, state and federal funds. Essentially, the funds come from the amount of student’s school district serves. There is a set amount of money funded per student. This covers the immense costs of teacher salaries, administration salaries, custodial staff, transportation, facility use, technology, educational materials, etc.
Businesses must make decisions every day and many times in a split second. Rushed decisions can result in poor decisions. Other times, businesses simply make poor decisions due to low or absent moral standards. For example, Bernie Madoff defrauded thousands of people through his investment firm. Each business decision is an opportunity to choose between wrong and right. A business with a Christian worldview will have an alternate course of action when compared to a strictly legal worldview.

Ethics in business is a highly important concept, as it can affect a company’s profits, salaries paid to employees and CEOs, and public opinion, among many other aspects of a business. Ethics can be enforced by company policies and guidelines, set a precedent when a company is faced with an important decision, and are also evolving thanks to new technology and situations that arise due to technology usage. Businesses have a duty to maintain their ethical responsibilities and also to help their employees enforce these responsibilities in and out of the workplace. However, ethics and the foundation for them are not always black and white. There are many different ethical theories, however Utilitarianism, Kant’s Deontological ethics, and Virtue ethics are three of the most well known theories in existence. Each theory is distinct in that it has a different quality used to determine ethicality and allows for a person to choose which system of ethics works best with both the situation and his or her personal ethical preferences.

Ramona’s Decision Ramona is in a difficult spot where she has to choose whether to take an extraordinary job offer. The job offer is for Next Step’s Atlanta, GA office with an $80,000 base salary plus commissions. It sounds like a perfect opportunity for an entry-level business job for a recent MBA graduate. However, several red flags went up during Ramona’s recruitment at the company’s headquarters in Seattle, WA. The company’s ethical climate and negative outlook on Christians caused Ramona to rethink the job offer.
