Bullying and Intimidation at School

Imagine being a normal kid just coming out of class to grab your lunch.
When all of a sudden, a kid you fear because of masculine strength comes up to you and says, “Got anything good? Hand it over. Oh, and don’t even think about telling the teacher? Got it?” You nod your head out of fear and give him your lunch. “Good.” ‘Well,’ you think, ‘there goes my lunch.’
For the rest of the day you feel scared and aren’t able to concentrate. If you tell the teacher, he’ll torture you more. If you don’t tell the teacher, he’ll still torture you. What should you do? This is just one of the many examples of bullying. Bullying is superior strength to influence or to intimidate someone to do what you (the bully) want. (“Bullying Definition”- Home). Bullying needs to be prevented inside and outside of schools. It makes children feel bad about themselves and not show as much confidence as they had before. Many times, it causes a dramatic scene in schools: rumors are spread and many things about the school are said if the public finds out. Yet, the most astonishing thing is that it affects bullies’ lives both mentally and physically. It causes them to not lead a good life. But can it be stopped?
Bullying ruins the bullied child’s self-esteem and confidence. According to Editor Arcy Lyness, “studies show that people who are abused by their peers are at risk for mental health problems, such as low self-esteem, stress, depression, or anxiety. They may also think about suicide more.”(Ed.
