When I was a child I was a very science and book orientated. as only child I spent a lot of time alone finding hobbies or trying to create things. Then I read my first serious book it was all about car and how car mechanics built these insanely fast cars and this immediately sparked my interest in the automotive world. I had always had passion for working with my hands and making something out of nothing. When I read the book on cars it gave me a since of inspiration to in reality to build a race car. I did not want to just think about building one or draw pictures of cool cars like most kids i wanted to make it happen and my dad was always very supportive of this passion became he himself was a big gear head so that's when all began in the
book I read it was manly about Japanese cars Nissans, Toyotas, and Hondas. There was one car in that book that stood out to me out of all the others and it was a Z32 Nissan 300zx. These cars weren't the easiest to find in the U.S at the time so we found a Japanese salvage yard and had a wrecked 300zx imported to the U.S the car wasn't in bad condition it had minor cosmetic problems but it had a blown engine. We got to work right away on it we stripped the car apart to nothing but a chassis. we started with engine. In the book all these people were using turbo chargers to make their cars fly down the road and that's what we built a 3.0 litter V6 into a twin turbo 500+ hp engine and dropped it in. We then went to work on the outside as a kid I didn't want a normal plain color outside and as always wanting to be a marine the military was always a inspiration so I painted the car like a B-52 bomber shark teeth and all. The car was completed with the interior putting in racing seats and such and when I turned 16 that became my first car and drove it every day so happy knowing that I had created it. That is why reading and that book especially changed my life it started a passion that I still have to this day and will have until the day that I die. I will never forget the times in the garage with my dad all the memories that were made thanks to me picking up a book and reading it. That's how my first book impacted my life forever.
Everyone at one point has to make a decision on what they want to be when they grow up. For me, that decision came rather unexpectedly and was a result of a new found interest due to self-discovery. It all began when I was around the age of 8 and I watched a documentary on aircraft. It documented all about planes, how they work and the science behind them. I was immediately captivated and gaining all that information as a young child really hit the spot in terms of a new found passion and interest that I could see myself later using. This passion stuck with me ever since as I have spent tons of spare time studying different types of aircraft and collecting model planes. It ultimately helped me with my answer to the question of what I wanted to be when I grew up as being an aeronautical engineer. It is not a career most would pursue, but it shows how self-discovery impacted me at a very young age and the impact is so log lasting that it has influenced most of the decision I make now in terms of courses I take at school and the extracurricular activities I am a part of. Without self-discovery, I was able to gain an understanding of where my interests lay, the abilities I have to acquire complex information and the feelings I had towards my new found interest and
My parents have always stressed the importance of reading. Throughout my whole life, they have motivated me to read and they have encouraged me to find books that I find interesting to read. Because of their encouragement, I am an avid reader today. When I was a child, just starting to enjoy reading I liked to read books that were fiction. Some of my favorite books to read as a child are series that I still love today and I think I still have every book in each series stored in my attic. They are The Boxcar Children, Junie B. Jones, and The Magic Tree House.
I've always loved learning, especially math. Math has always come easy to me. Science also has never been challenging enough so I took Chemistry this year and I am planning to take physics next years. Chemistry is very challenging for me and I've had thoughts of dropping out of it, but I pushed myself and forced myself not to give
Over the years, as time passes by I have become to better understand myself and learn what captures and disappoints my attention. As a young boy I would think no books pertaining to school or gaining beneficial knowledge would ever interest me. As I read and learned about different cultures and heard mesmerizing stories of Prophets I became eager to read more along with interesting worldly based novels. Miraculous real life events and interesting action based novels are the only stories that grab my attention. This has been the case for me for some time and I continue to learn and explore to see what else I can find that interests me.
It first began, my love for aviation, when I took a solo trip to Missouri to visit my cousins when I was about eleven years old. Although I enjoyed
As a child, I have always been fond of reading books. My mother would read to me every single night before I went to bed and sometimes throughout the day. It was the most exciting time of the day when she would open the cabinet, with what seemed to be hundreds of feet tall, of endless books to choose from. When she read to me, I wanted nothing more than to read just like her. Together, we worked on reading every chance we had. Eventually I got better at reading alone and could not put a book down. Instead of playing outside with my brothers during the Summer, I would stay inside in complete silence and just read. I remember going to the library with my mom on Saturdays, and staying the entire day. I looked forward to it each and every week.
The average driver doesn’t think about what keeps their car moving or what keeps them on the road, but that’s because they don’t have to. The average driver doesn’t have to worry about having enough downforce to keep them on the road or if they will reach the adhesive limit of their car’s tires around a turn. These are the things are the car designers, professional drivers, racing pit crews, serious sports car owners, and physicist think about. Physics are an important part of every sports and racing car design. The stylish curves and ground effects on sports cars are usually there not just for form but function as well allowing you to go speeds over 140 mph in most serious sports cars and remain on the road and in reasonable control.
I never had problems being able to read, I just felt like there was so many other fun things to do besides reading. I was never the kid that had a bunch of action figures and toys. I liked to build things out of Legos, K-nex, and Steel Tec. Then I got into the more skilled of building model cars and planes. Most of all I mainly enjoyed being outside as much as I could or tinkering with something. Aside from school, I have been a gear head for as long as I can remember. Anything that was motorized or had something to do with a motor has always sparked my interests. I have been riding dirt bikes since I was 5 years old, and nothing compared to being on my motorcycle. That is when I really knew I was not partial to reading. My mother worked in the motocross industry and my father rode dirt bikes too. Riding and being in the woods was a big part of my life, as that was what we did every weekend for
I also remember as young girl learning how to read and my favorite book that I could quote word for word was “Green Eggs and Ham” by Dr.Suess. I loved that book so much I still have that today. As I got older my love for reading and books started to diminish, I went to a private school for my elementary years and their curriculum was very intense. It was required to read a book from their approved list and complete a book report each summer before the school year began. Not to mention the numerous books reports I would have to complete during the school. At an early age books and reading was something I had to do and not what I wanted to do.
Writing my own stories: I believe it was in sixth or seventh grade when I wanted a certain setting in my life with only certain people. So I started writing, simple things I wished up. But then when I got to 8th grade I had watched a show and read something over it to lead myself with another totally different idea. A whole book, perhaps even a series with it all. Things that happened in my day, even what I heard would trigger something that I would instantly want to put in it. Then I would get lost in my own stories, saying things no one would know what they meant. I truly wanted it all to happen since it was worse but much better than my life, now even.
Then I struck an interest in photography once it combined with my other interest which was cars and people. After I saw these amazing pictures of vehicles being driven through scenery, I went ahead and created my own twitter page to post my own pictures of cars which has grown to 4,500+ followers. This enlarged my interest to move onto other pictures such as portraits, like when people take pictures at the beach and get a photo of them jumping in the air, it's called an action picture. All in all i've always been interested in photography since my dad bought my family our first camera in
Ever since I was a child, I have had a great interest for the automotive industry. From car trivia to novel innovations, my innate passion for the automotive industry has always made me research the minutest detail of every vehicle that interested me. Since elementary school I would draw sketches of cars which incorporated technology which were unheard of at that time; novel devices such as electrochromic windshields, HUD displays, and wind turbines which would constantly re-generate electricity for the car. While growing up, my hobbies largely consisted of constructing countless Lego and Meccano sets, and repairing my mom’s 19 year-old car. In middle school, math and science were my favorite subjects: applying science and mathematics to solve real-world problems has fascinated me and I have also taken further steps to reach my goals. By the age of thirteen I devised a scaled model of a heliostat power plant, which successfully powered a light bulb. The mathematics beyond the focus points of parabolic dishes and thermodynamics was very advanced for my age, but I took up the challenge...
In my past time, I read, practice piano, and practice ballet. I’ve been participating in piano and ballet for seven years now and I still think I’m just adequate at them. My mom forced me to start reading at a young age this caused my passion and love towards books some of my favorites are Blood Meridian, Gone Girl, and To Kill a Mockingbird.
My parents instilled a passion for reading in me even as a toddler; years later, an excellent,
Reading has always been a big part in my life. When my mom was pregnant with me she used to read to my older brother, so in a way she was reading to me too. When I was a toddler, my favorite books were
