The Bring Your Dog to Work program is a program in which dog owners are able to bring their dogs to their workplace. Not only are dogs enjoyable companions, they can also help reduce stress and anxiety amongst those who struggle with such disablities. Many studies show that employees get more work accomplished in less time when the workplace practices the Bring Your Dog to Work program. There are many of advantages and disadvantages to this program. They go as following.
Stress and anxiety. Researchers have found that when pet owners interact with their pets, the stress and anxiety they may be experiencing lessens, and an overall sense of well-being is introduced. Being a dog owner who also struggles with abnormal worrying and anxiety, I can confirm this to be true. Health studies have shown that copius amounts of stress, such as stress introduced by a workplace, can lead to high blood pressure and even fatal health problems, such as heart attacks. With this being said, introducing dogs into the workplace could lessen the chances of serious health issues, overwhelming stress and anxiety, and even promote a happy and friendly work environment.

As stated previously, studies have shown that employees get more work accomplished in less time when they are able to be accompanied by their dogs. Dogs are social creatures who crave human interation. Leaving a dog at home all day is not only stressful for the dog, but for its human, as well. Introducing dogs to the workplace would also introduce more flexible hours on the employees behalf, leading to productivity and job satisfaction for everyone. When employees are content, they tend to stay at their position, which, in the long run, saves their employers money. Hiring and training new workers is not only costly to ones wallet, it's also time
Pets can have real jobs like people. Dogs-rescuers save lives together with people. For instance, when people get in appalling avalanches courageous dogs-rescuers help to find them. Also, some breeds of dogs, e.g. sheep dog, badger-dog, labrador, spaniel, and so on, serve at customs. More than that, they can find illegal things like drugs, dangerous weapons, or explosive stuff. What’s more, they help to control order and assist in avoiding terrible acts of terrorism. Some people literally can't live without pets. For example, blind people need guide-dogs to move around their homes. The connection between such masters and their pets becomes really strong and truly close and a person gets pet-dependent in this case. Enthusiastic owners devote their life to pets. They try to make the best for them and like to take part in exhibitions. Pet's clothes, food, houses, brushes take on special value for
Several studies have examined the effects of dog ownership on people's physical and mental health. Dog ownership produces considerable health benefit and provides social support that encourages dog owners to walk (Cutt et al.2007 ). Pet owners appear to have lower systolic blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels(Anderson et al 1992). Pet owners with serious mental illness living in the community demonstrate higher social community integration(Zimalog and Krupa 2009). Socially excluded participants who performed in the presence of a dog report higher mental well-being compared with socially excluded participants who did not work in the presence of a dog (Nilüfer et al 2012). Although there is evidence suggesting that dog ownership can improve people's physical and mental health, there is little research documenting the psychological and behavioral effects of dog-assisted therapy, especially on elderly patients with dementia, who have dif...
There are many advantages to having a dog as a pet to help mental health. When one does not want to get up and face the day a dog can usually make them happy with their unconditional love and their need for the owner’s attention. A person’s mood is lifted when they go outside to play with their dog since the sun and fresh air wakes them up and makes them a little happier. The sun also has Vitamin D that helps with some mental and physical health issues such as; Depression, cancer, obesity, heart attacks. When one goes outside they are in nature and looking around and being in nature usually makes them calm. Taking a pet dog for a walk gets one up and about. For as long as I can remember, my childhood dream has always been wanting to become a veterinarian. While other kids were outside having fun at the playground, I was at the library reading books and learning about the different animals. However, as I matured, I realized that being a veterinarian isn’t just about caring for and assisting injured animals. Being a veterinarian means having the ability to make quick decisions in stressful situations, showing complete dedication and passion to this profession, and being able to effectively communicate to pet owners.
Dogs are being taken for granted, and people need to realize the importance of why they have dogs as pets. Dogs are more than lazy animals, dumb creatures, or ways of showing off to others. Dogs don’t help with social status, rather they help with companionship, loyalty, trust, and a bodyguard. In my opinion, dogs don’t help determine how poor or wealthy a family is. Maybe people spend lots or little money on a dog, but that just depends on what type of people they are, not what type the dog is. Nothing more, nothing less.

There is probably nothing more for pet lovers than taking their quadruped to work with them. The latest researches have proven that taking pets to workplace has resulted in lot happier and less stressed environment in the job. Scientists found that people who take their dogs to work reported lower stress throughout the day than employees without dogs or those who had dogs but didn’t take them to work (International Journal of Workplace Health Management). Many previous studies have linked the presence of pets with less stress and better health. For example, in hospitals and nursing homes, animals have contributed to faster recovery from surgery, controlling blood pressure and depression levels of patients.
Having a dog can be a great experience for people who enjoy their company. These animals are usually friendly and active; they are intelligent and can develop a strong relationship with their owners based on love and care. However, having dogs is a big responsibility for the person who owns them, because they are animals, so they cannot support themselves. Dogs need someone who can feed them, give them love, and someone who can help them exercise. Moreover, these animals need big spaces in order to run and develop their muscles, so the owner has to know that he needs to take a walk with the dog several times a day.
Dogs today are being trained to be service dogs. Training a dog takes at least one to two years. Training a dog means they must be able to behave in public areas without causing any problems, the second thing a dog must be able to do, is to act appropriately with whatever disability the owner may have. Some people say that dogs can sense when their owner is about to have a seizure, but others say dogs can sense it but their instincts kick in and they have the need to protect their owner. The only animals allowed to be service animals are dogs and in some cases miniature horse.
Pets can improve social health in a variety of ways. Showing devotion to and caring for a pet is a great way to improve the social and emotional aspects of a person (Grady). Those who are introverted can always have a quiet and attentive friend to talk to. Animals do not judge you and are always willing
Most cases of anxiety or depression can be triggered by specific things. In the article “Stressed out student? Get a dog (or cat, or rabbit)” written by Carli Teproff, a student explains that he was diagnosed with extreme depression after his girlfriend died suddenly. He said that he was getting used to being on his own, but was really struggling with the thought of losing her. Teproff writes, “Depression led to a short stay in the hospital, and after speaking with a therapist, he decided that a pet might help him get back on track” (Teproff 1). Some people are affected by a mental illness. These animals not only help those in need, but they can save lives too. There are disabilities that cause owners to have uncontrollable actions and can be extremely harmful to them and those around

Owning a pet can have many physical and mental health benefits. Medical studies show having a pet result's in lower blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and triglyceride levels. Pets have a role in cardiovascular health from lowering blood pressure, and they encourage psychosocial stability in owners, which further reduces the risk of heart disease. In the hectic and fast-paced world we live in today, pets are actually saving our lives. Pets provide an excuse to be active, dogs live an active lifestyle, wanting to play and run around outside. By making us more active and improving our health, dogs often provide a good workout! Instead of sitting on the couch being lazy, dogs are eager to transfer their energy and enthusiasm to the owner benefiting both dog and owner in many ways. Studies show that dogs demonstrate trust and provide comfort to the sick or elderly thus helping people to live longer and to be more positive as they age. Animal owners over 75 years of age have f...

The owner needs to bring their pet go out for exercise, take the pet to visit the pet groomer and also having the veterinary checkups for their pet. All of these need the owner to communicate with others and involved themselves in the social activities.
