A professional bridesmaid is, usually, a woman who is hired to take some of the stress off of the true bridesmaid- or the bride herself. How does that seem? Being paid to witness romance. A bridesmaid doesn’t necessarily get paid to have fun, though the job isn’t all stress. According to Jen Glantz, the founder of “Bridesmaids for hire” and paid bridesmaids in general, sometimes the professional isn’t even in the wedding. In actuality, the fee for a professional bridesmaid increases when they are asked to participate in the wedding ceremony and they don’t mingle like most guest. Just as Jen Glantz has, though since she is the founder- the originator of professional bridesmaids and the person who has an actual business- not everything can be set in stone, Jen looks for people and allows people to apply but doesn’t reveal the definite pay she will give to them but reveals her own. Being a bridesmaid, like any other job, has pros and cons. Let’s get to the bad news before the good. Pay isn’t always certain like a day to day job. Not everyone wants to pay an extra $2,000 dollars on top of wedding fees on a bridesmaid instead of a wedding planner. Taking on the fact that people are complicated and do switch their opinion you could be knee deep in an amazing wedding idea and have the bride tell you that everything at the wedding needs to be finding nemo themed- just because! Though everyday is never the same as the last, nor every wedding. You get to experience daily the result of love. You’ll be able to learn at you truly want for your own wedding- and not only decoration wise! Jen says that she learned that love isn’t finding someone who gives you butterflies you get when you see them, but a person willing to stand by you through your tough times and the amazing ones. What may be appreciated is; having people skills. You need to be understanding of others feelings and ideas as well as willing to help if opinions are different than yours. Physcology could very much help you with this. You’d be able to help make sure people are in the right state of mind and reassure those stressed out brides that you were hired for a reason! Patience, is always key. As a bridesmaid you could be asked to do some bizarre things.
