Gobias Industries is a company that is seeking to promote diversity amongst the organization and strives to be the best. However, it is seen that the company lacks certain criteria that may negatively impact them to the extent where they would need to shut down their facilities. The main issues Gobias Industries has faced is the harsh conditions employees have to work in that are most definitely safety hazards, Sexual harassment, and low retention rate. It is clear that Jim, Maria, Tracy and most of the employees are not satisfied with their experience with the company indicating that Gobias Industries must do something about it as soon as possible before they decide to leave as well. For this, we have analyzed the three main problems with
First, Allround needs to increase its sales force, with emphasis on increasing mass merchandiser based on the marketshare news. We planned to increase drugstores, and grocery stores by 3.5% and mass merchandisers by 12%. We based the volume discount on the budget. Allround needs to remove “ reduces chest congestion, dries up runny nose” from the list of benefits. Customers don’t perceive Allround to be effective at curing those symptoms. Allround should drop alcohol and appeal to families, and include “won’t cause drowsiness.” As the product becomes mature, the “reminder” percentage should be increased. When Allround launches a non-drowsy allergy product in later periods, it can compete against Believe, which only has antihistamines. Allround
- If all of the options were explored, and patient is given antibiotics and is treated without any pain or suffering than the treatment identifies with the ethnical principles of autonomy, non-maleficence, and veracity. In turn, Mrs. Dawson will be happy with the outcome of the procedure.
Immigration is a large aspect of American history. In the book Breaking Through by Francisco Jimenez, we are able to see the struggles of one Hispanic boy immigrating to the United States from Mexico. Many of the people in the community that Francisco lived in didn’t really accept Hispanic people. It was really depressing that he would make friends, go over to their house and their parents wouldn’t let him come over again, simply because he was Hispanic. In Diversity Matters the text states, “Unique stresses created by the process of immigration to another country and discrimination faced in the new country can create psychological distress for many immigrants” (Spradlin 126). During this time in America, there was still a lot of discrimination going on not only with Hispanics, but other minority races like African Americans. This really goes to show how far our country has come over the years. There is still a long way to go, but I think that if people are more educated and aware of the discrimination people face on a daily basis they will be more open-minded. The United States is becoming more open to diversity, but first we will look at the struggles of one Hispanic boy growing up here illegally in Breaking Through.
In the novel Breaking Through, by Francisco Jimenez, Francisco tells the story of how he illegally immigrated from Mexico to the United States. At the age of four, he, his parents, and his older brother, Roberto, crossed underneath the barbed-wire fence on the United States-Mexico border. However, after ten years they were reported by one of their own people and were forced to go back to Mexico. The three literary elements addressed in this captivating book are symbol, conflict, and characterization.
When horrific crimes occur in large cities, many of them can be chalked up to gang violence or to the larger population of that specific city. But when horrific crimes happen in small cities like Lincoln, Nebraska, people begin to ask questions like who did this and why. In 1958, a nineteen year old man named Charles Starkweather put the entire state of Nebraska and possibly the entire nation in a state of terror. With his murder spree taking only three days, Starkweather had collected a body count of ten bodies, including two teenagers and a young child. Understanding Starkweather’s past and state of mind begins to answer the second question of why.
The year 2013 was not one marked for pride for the retail chain, Target. They had one of the largest data breaches known to date that occurred between November 27th and December 15th. Not only was this the one of the largest attacks known to date of this kind, it was also quite eye opening to many who may not have paid any attention to the world of information security. The Target hack resulted in 40 million compromised credit and debit card accounts and that was just the initial known result. After some time, the research revealed that a total of as many as 110 million Target customers were the victims of this gigantic hack. Although computer crimes occur within the United States often, the bigger problem is that criminals from other countries across the oceans are attacking as well.

On the second day of March in the year 1955, a young, black girl named Claudette Colvin waited for the bus. She was 15 years old and lived in Montgomery. Colvin had just finished school for the day and was heading home. The city bus came, and she sat down in the area reserved for “black” passengers. As the bus filled up, left standing was a young, white woman. The seats in the white area were full, but there was an available seat in the opposite row of Colvin. Because of Jim Crows law- a law that said that a white person could not sit opposite of a colored person, the white woman refused to sit there. The bus driver ordered Colvin to move to the back of the bus so that the white female could sit down. Colvin refused to move.
Government officials are continually searching for ways to increase the safety of its citizens. Research has shown that one such way to accomplish this task is through the maintaining of public areas. Since the early 1980s, this idea has been known as the Broken Windows Theory. Applying this theory in the urban setting can increase the quality of living for the area citizens, help prevent future crimes, and promote a positive relationship between the police force and the citizens.
Service user involvement and participation has become a standard principle in guiding social care planning in order to improve in the developing and delivery of service to meet diverse and complex needs in a more effective way. Key pieces of legislation states plainly that service users through a partnership approach should be enabled to have voice on how the services they are using should be delivered (Letchfield, 2009). The Scottish Executive (2006a:32) helpfully state ‘Increasing personalisation of services is both an unavoidable and desirable direction of travel for social work services. Unavoidable in the sense that both the population and policy expect it; desirable in the extent to which it builds upon the capacity of individuals to find their own solutions and to self-care, rather than creating dependence on services’
After researching, observing and working on project 6 to create something that would beneficially help individuals in their daily life we decided to look deeper into 9Round near downtown Bloomington. This topic was inspired due to the fact that after we rode the bus we saw a lot of unhappy and not physically approachable people. In relation to the topic I know personally being active always gives me relief when under stress or just to have a hobby with other people around supporting you to be happy, healthy and overall state of mind. As you get older you loose touch with doing things for yourself with work, family and day-to-day struggles. Some people keep that in while others learn to exude their emotions. 9Round is here to help.
For sociology and crime the main thing to look to understand it is through the functionalist theoretical perspective. Crime is a learned behavior and that the surrounding environment does impact a person’s choice in committing a crime. Crime is a major part of how a society functions. With certain societies you have rules that govern what is acceptable to do and what is not either by law, or unspoken rules. (Macionis, 2015,Pages 171-188)
A breaking point is when someone reaches a point in their life when someone collapses from all the stress they have from an incident or event. Everyone will reach their breaking point, but one has to ask himself, “How will I build up from my breaking point?” One has to ask himself, “Can I prepare to reach my breaking point?” Some just need to be alone when they reach their breaking point, some need support from their family and friends, and some put all this emotion into an activity to keep their mind off of it. People who reach their breaking point may have given up on a huge project for work, lost their job that they had for many years, lost a close family member, or divorced from a marriage of many years. It may take a bit
Write 2 mini case studies. One should recount an effective coaching or counseling situation. The other recount an ineffective coaching or counseling situation. The case should be based on a real event, either from your own personal experience or from the experience of someone you know well. Use principles of supportive communication and listening in your cases.
