The mind and brain are the most powerful weapons a human being has in his or her arsenal. In the books Brave new world by Aldous Huxley and 1984 by George Orwell both shows ways and means in how the controllers in Brave new world and inner party in 1984 control and keep the mind of its citizens occupied to prevent rebellion. In both stories they believe that the way to success, greatness and achievement of one main goal is to keep the citizen busy and brain washed. Even though in the book 1984 it is more strict, the leaders both prevent the people from achieving their own happiness. Firstly, the authors of both book is portraying that the more the people know less and are kept busy, the less the act of rebellion. The books are both layed out with one format, destruction of inner conflict and inner peace. Also in the book 1984 shows us that the people are kept under surveillance. That also portrays in brave new world, that everyone is being watched. Winston stated that the proles are the last hope and until they are conscious, they can never rebel(1984 page 60, George Orwell). Meaning that the people are under the control of the inner party.
