Fitness myth #3- I need to work out like a bodybuilder.
What exactly do I mean by working out like a bodybuilder? Many individuals workout in ineffective ways for their goals. This includes exercising like bodybuilders. Bodybuilders will do isolation exercises on even the smallest of muscles. They are often doing bicep curls and triceps dips to isolate those particular muscles to improve the appearance of those muscles for shows. The truth is unless you are a body builder you don’t need to do that.
Why don’t I need to isolate muscles?
I want you to stop and think about the last time you use just your triceps (just your triceps) to do anything. Can’t come up with much can you? The triceps is not a muscle we use by itself, instead it is used to assist other muscles during certain movements. If you don’t isolate that muscle in everyday (and it still functions) why do you need to isolate these muscles in your workout?

Let’s say that you work isolated movements for your arms. You do 3 sets of 15 triceps dips and 3 sets of 15 bicep curls, then pushups and pull ups, this could easily develop into a 30 minute or more routine and two of the exercises you did were completely unnecessary, because you train them when you are doing more functional exercises. Biceps are used in pulling exercises and triceps are used in pushing muscles so while you were doing you push up and pull ups you were already working those muscles in a much more effective
Whether it’s 7a.m, 10a.m, 4:30p.m, etc. I find myself feeling tired. It could be from just waking up or from a long day, but during any of these times I find myself dragging. I could resort to coffee or any form of caffeine to wake myself up, but it is not nearly as effective as going to Crossfit. When you walk into the gym you’re surrounded by the sounds of “workout” music and weights dropping to the ground. You’re greeted by your fellow Crossfitters and you chat about the workout ahead. Strength work comes first and that’s when my first jolt of energy comes. There’s no better feeling than completing heavy lifts; the adrenaline is unexplainable. It is especially energizing when you PR a lift, receive cheers from the others at the gym and
“What have I done?” Jason questioned as he lay in a stretcher, IV in his wrist, ambulance screaming down the highway en route to the hospital. Jason, a former performance-enhancing drug user, was supposed to live to be 50 and see his children grow up, but at 40, the effects of those harmless pills meant to keep him in the game were finally taking their toll. Performance-enhancing drugs, also known as PEDs or steroids are pills, injections, or topical treatments taken for the purpose of boosting one’s energy level, increasing muscle mass, or one's athletic or physical performance. PEDs have been in use since the first Olympics in Ancient Greece but have skyrocketed in popularity since the 1970s due to popular demand for more exciting sporting

A body muscle plays an important role in controlling the movement of the joints and therefore determines the flexibility of the whole body. They are ones responsible for generating the effort needed. The joints mostly act as the pivot and the body is the load in case of push-ups. Biomechanics in sports exercise tries to understand the forces that are present from the human body and their effects on the shape, structure, size and movement of the body. The essence of understanding biomechanics is to uplift the coordination of these forces from various muscle groups (Juan, Suprak, Roach& Lyda, 2015) so as to generate required effects.
