Newborn Blue Jays live in the nest for 17 through 21 days, when they are ready to fly. Newborn Blue Jays leave the nest flying; taking their own adventure in life. Blue Jay parents leave the nest when they hear predators, to take them far from the nest so they cannot identify the nest.
