I have chosen to apply to the Biotechnology Academy because I know that I want to pursue a career in the science field and being in this academy will open my eyes to the different science-related careers there are. I know that being in the Biotechnology Academy will help grow and stimulate my interest in science-related things. Many people feel that biology has become more advanced than physics. Biology has in fact become the new focus of the future as we tend to use it a lot in our daily lives. The study of Biotechnology is known as the branch of molecular biology that studies the use of microorganisms to perform specific industrial processes. This study shows that our lives can be transformed.
The decision to enroll in graduate school came after considerable time and soul searching. While contemplating the decision to return to school I thought about life, school and work. I realized that my experience in these areas have prepared me for the challenge and I am going to succeed.

If accepted into Cornell University, I would pursue a major in Biological Sciences. Aside from the impact of this major on our societal and collective evolution, I am inspired by the utility of the discipline. It is through the knowledge and application of biological sciences that we can achieve what was previously only dreamed of. Fascinated with biological science; fixated with medical mysteries, revolutionary medical discoveries, and the urge to make sense of the unknown is why I am pursuing this field of study. The application of biological sciences can be used to meet an objective or solve a problem; this and my innate sense of empathy towards the many adversities and wonders of life, amplifies my yearning to help others through the use of medicine.
I would like to thank Salish Kootenai College for giving me the wonderful opportunity of applying for STEM academy. If somebody had told me that I would be applying for college classes as a sophomore, I would not have believed them. My parents have always told me that when an opportunity comes, you should take it, and I do not plan on letting this experience go to waste. Education has been a big part of my life, and this academy can only help me move forward. That being said, here are a few reasons why I should be considered a candidate for the STEM academy. Joining the STEM academy will allow me to further my knowledge and help me to get closer to my goals, my academic career would flourish, and I would be closer to my ambition for my future. I am determined to become the best and most educated version of myself that I can possibly be.

I’m a student at Tompkins Cortland Community College this is my first semester as a college student. I plan to go to college for four years and only be at TC3 for this one semester, then transfer to a four year school. College has grown around the world more than ever and more people are attending college more than ever. I have chosen to go to college because of the rewards after graduation. Yes it is another four years of school but by getting more education and an extended degree gives me more opportunities for better jobs and more money. The career I have chosen to study is business administration. I am hoping that it takes me to a great job managing a company or possibly being an accountant.
