Blaise Pascal was in born in 1623. In Clermont France he was very well known to most people. His mother’s name was Antoinette she passed away when he was only three years old. That left his father to take care of the children. He had two sisters there name was Gilberte also Jacqueline. They moved to a new house after his mother had passed away. The only reason that they moved he didn’t trust his son’s education at the local schools where they lived. It was a huge desion that he had to make to be able to teacher Blaise himself. He thought that they education that he could provide him was just as good as he would receive at a local school close by. Most of his adult life was mainly dedicated to his religion and philosophy. Several members of his family loved math and science. His interested began when his dad gave him a project that he was not taught to do. Blaise asked very sorts of questions to his father and he would reply. He would say that it was away to make figures. Also to find the proportions of the figures. Which at the time that didn’t make any since to Blaise. He would take what his father told him to make his own discovers about math. His sister began telling everyone that Pascal made his own geometry which everyone didn’t believe her. When he turned twelve he began to draw figures on his bedroom floor. He then found out that interior angles add up the sum of two right angles itself. People didn’t believe that drawing figures on the floor. He would be able to come up with the formula without knowing it. He did the same thing for days he didn’t care if his father caught him or not. This is why Pascal loved math because he got to always work with numbers. Everything that he worked with or did a study with was numbers. Such as the triangle with the numbers in the center he made that as I stated before. I know that math is something that deals with numbers but Pascal always had a lot of them to work with. He did a lot of cool inventions and things he had made helped a lot of people. Least the things that he made was very useful to people. He loved math he was very dedicated to it. Even though he loved math he was very religious. He had a degree in religion to. Many people thought that was a very boring subject and didn’t enjoy studying it. But Pascal really enjoyed it.
Blaise Pascal was born on 19 June 1623 in Clermont Ferrand. He was a French mathematician, physicists, inventor, writer, and Christian philosopher. He was a child prodigy that was educated by his father. After a horrific accident, Pascal’s father was homebound. He and his sister were taken care of by a group called Jansenists and later converted to Jansenism. Later in 1650, the great philosopher decided to abandon his favorite pursuits of study religion. Leonhard Euler was born in Basel, Switzerland as the first born child of Paul Euler and Marguerite Brucker on April 15, 1707. Euler’s formal education started in Basel where he was sent to live with his maternal grandmother on his father’s orders. Euler's father wanted his son to follow him in working for the church and sent him to the University of Basel to prepare him in becoming a pastor. He entered the University in 1720 to gain general knowledge before moving on to more advanced studies. Euler’s pastime was used for studying theology, Greek, and Hebrew in order to become a pastor like his father. During that time at the age of thirteen Euler started gaining his masters in Philosophy at the University of Basel, and in 1723 he achieved his master degree. Blaise Pascal lived during a time when religion and science were clashing and challenging previous discoveries and ideas. Pascal lived from 1623 to 1662 due to his untimely death at the age of thirty nine. The scientific community grew enormously and Pascal was a great contributor to this growth. The growth in the scientific community is known as the Scientific Revolution. He lived in a time where an absolute monarch came into power, King Louis the XIV. Louis XIV was a believer in “one king, one law, and one faith” (Spielvogel, 2012). Pascal saw the destruction of protestant practices in France and the growth and acceptance of scientific discoveries. He used the scientific method to refine previous experiments that were thought to be logical but Pascal proved otherwise and eventually led to Pascal’s Law. He spent his life devoted to two loves: God and science. Within his book, “Pensees,” Pascal argues and shares his thoughts about God, science, and philosophy.
It is interesting that despite the fame he achieved because of his mechanical inventions, he believed that pure mathematics was the more worthwhile pursuit. Plutarch describes his attitude:

At a young age, his mother sensed how intelligent her son was and insisted on sending him to school to develop even though his dad displayed much resistance to the idea. The first test of Gauss’ brilliance was at age ten in his arithmetic class when the teacher asked the students to find the sum of all whole numbers 1 to 100. In his mind, Gauss was able to connect that 1+100=101, 2+99=101, and so on, deducing that all 50 pairs of numbers would equal 101. By this logic all Gauss had to do was multiply 50 by 101 and get his answer of 5,050. Gauss was bound to the mathematics field when at the age of 14, Gauss met the Duke of Brunswick.
