Fishes have gills, eyes, mouth, tail, scales and fins, but most importantly they make great apartment pets. Having a betta fish is better than having a goldfish when it comes down to the cost of food, maintenance, and lifespan.
All pets need food, to help them grow and be healthy. There are different types of brands to choose from, some with different flavor and different color. However, when it comes down to Goldfish food, there is only one type of flavor and can be sold in the form of flakes or pellets. The cost of buying these foods ranges from $1.97 to $5.24. For Betta fish they have an option of eating three types of food, they include freeze dried bloodworms, freeze dried brine shrimp and pellets. The cost of these foods ranges from $1.69 to $3.74. When it comes down to feeding time the goldfish is recommended to eat two to three times a day, each feeding session lasting one to two minutes long. For an adult betta fish it is recommended to eat one time a day, having the session go for about two minutes. However, if the betta is a young one it is recommended to eat two times a day, each session lasting two minutes as well. Normally most people have said that goldfish dies quickly and doesn't live long. However, If you maintain the tank clean and remember to feed it, the fish can live for years. Sometimes there are some uncertainties of how long the goldfish will really live. For the betta fish it is said to have a lifespan of living a little more than two years. Knowing this raises the hopes of having a longer time to enjoy the betta than having a goldfish.
