The Obstacles that life throws at you
Every single day there is an obstacles that is thrown at you, whether it is a test, homework, family problems, personal issues that are you struggle with every single day. Until the day you die obstacle after obstacle will be thrown at you. You can overcome them though. “Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.”- Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan’s quote is very clear. It is saying that you can overcome obstacles. Even when you think you can’t, keep trying because you will always be able to overcome an obstacle.
Take a look at me for example you may just see a normal teenage girl, but if you

where to look closer you would see a girl who is overcoming obstacles everyday. Guess what though I’ve been able to overcome them though. If I can so can you. When I was little I found out that I was allergic to animals but I didn’t figure it out the easy way. At 18 months I went into anaphylactic shock. I could not breath and my face was blue and 911 had to be called. My parents injected an epipen into me and the doctors said it was a good thing they did otherwise I would have died. You might be thinking ok thats not so bad. Yes it is when you live on a ranch and you are surrounded by them. This was a major obstacle that took years to overcome, but with the help of my doctor and my parents I was able to overcome it and now I’m riding horses everyday, playing with dogs, cows, and I’m even rodeoing. People a lot of the time say “that sucks”. They are not wrong. There are times where it did suck, but it made me more responsible, it made my life different compared to other country girls, It made me stronger, and it taught me to be thankful for everyday that i’m alive. People from the past and present have struggled way more than I have though.
They have struggled in ways that are terrible. People like Bethany Hamilton. Bethany Hamilton is a great christian girl that inspires me. Her life ways changed big time at just the age of thirteen. At thirteen years old Bethany Hamilton lost her left arm to a fourteen foot long tiger shark. Bethany states that her world was turned upside down. That she had to relearn how to put her hair up with one arm, relearn how to surf with one arm, ect. “I remember paddling out surfing and there were just waves crashing on me over and over again. Sometimes I would come in crying and frustrated and discouraged. Can you imagine that? Only having one arm. As you have read Bethany had to go through some tough stuff. She had to learn how to live life with one arm. She also had to deal with social media. Bethany Stated “just dealing with the fame and becoming a girl and struggling with my body image and the media of this world we live in can be so incredibly challenging. It can really bring you down.” She had to deal with all of this just at the age of thirteen. She was able to overcome those obstacles though. To Hamilton surfing with one arm is irrelevant. She even says “I’m able to reach more people than I ever could with two arms.” She is so much stronger since this has happened. Today she is a champion surfer who surfs even with one arm. She is married to Adam Dirks and has two kids. She has inspired so many
others as well not just me. You see you can overcome obstacles. It will not be easy, but if you keep going and don’t give up, you can and will overcome any obstacles. Just like Odysseus did. We as humans are far from perfect, so when we try to overcome an obstacle we will struggle and make the wrong disstigions. In the end though it will all work out. Philippians 4:3- I can do all things through him who strengthens me. And just remember no matter what happens “Just keep swimming”-Dory.
Adversities are often given a negative connotation and view, as most consider them to be hurdles which impede progress. Nevertheless when taken in and accepted under a positive light, adversities can serve as stepping stones through which an individual can better their character. In the face of looming obstacles individuals who persevere come out of the situation as stronger, determined, and more hopeful for the future.
There is a purpose behind these struggles. Louie found this purpose through finding God. After the war, Louie struggled with different battles, this is consistent for everyone. An overwhelming peace comes along with finding this purpose. Through Louie being saved, both physically and mentally, he found this peace. Each and every person has some type of faith, whether it is faith in one’s self, faith in someone else, or religious faith. This faith is what keeps humans going, it keeps people pushing
with their teachings in mind. The importance of having a good support system that we all create is of grave importance and the effects of not creating such could be disastrous. Our futures, confidence and even our self-respect can all be affected by not creating our own motivation or having rock so to speak, to always be there for us to pull us through. Rather than avoiding hard situations in our lives we should go through them, because avoidance will undoubtedly only make the situation worse. Going through the situation may not always be the path of least resistance but in the long run can prove to be a very important decision. If what pulls each of us through is reading, writing, movies, or music, I hope that we all can find it and put it to good use, and we can become better people because of it.
Born to surf, Bethany Hamilton was determined not to let anything stand in the way of her surf board and her. Not even losing her arm during a shark attack. At age 13, on Halloween day 2003, Hamilton and some family friends went surfing on the Napali Coast in Hawaii. While waiting for a wave to come, the wristwatch attracted the attention of a shark. After surgery, recovery and physical therapy, Hamilton continued to surf competitively. Despite her disadvantage, Hamilton surfs at a professional level. With the title of the “Bravest Girl in America,” 2004 Most Courageous Teen and the 2004 EPSY award for Best Comeback Athlete, Hamilton proves that nothing can keep her away from her surfboard. Not only was Hamilton praised for her bravery and courage but the loss of her arm has made her a better surfer. Hamilton also won 3rd place in Roxy Pro Surfing Competition in Australia, 5th place in the US Open of California, 2nd place at the World Junior Championships in Sydney, Australia and finally, 14th place on ASP’s World Qualifying Series Ratings.
“The United States averages just 16 shark attacks each year and slightly less than one shark-attack fatality every two years. Meanwhile, in the Coastal U.S. states alone, lightning kills more than 41 people each year” (Handwerk). Not man people can say that they have been attacked by a shark, or even know someone who has. The story is not the same for Bethany Hamilton. She is a shark attack survivor. When the odds of her surfing again were against her, she proved them wrong.
Bethany Hamilton is a well known pro surfer. Although she experiences some hardships along the way, her story will continue to inspire people from all around the world.
I think the hard times for my family were went away. I would talk with my mother about the past hard time recently, I asked her why she never said gave up or complained with her children. My mother said if you trust yourself that you can went through all of the obstacles then you can receive success, but if you don’t trust yourself, you only received nothing. I think that is the resilience in my life: never say give up, and Gods helps those that help themselves.
Jenelle Evans is preparing for an important court battle against her mother Barbara Evans. The mother and daughter have not gotten along in some time according to Radar Online. In my personal opinion, and I say this as humbly as I can, I am a very good-looking young man. I have a very animated face that goes well with my personality, which is humorous, but in a mature fashion. I can be serious and stare at others with my endless snowflake blue eyes, but if I get too drastic for the mood, it is easy to look at my nose and then laugh to lighten the air. I take pride in the fact that there is no one else on this earth exactly like me. Not just my inner beauty, but my outer beauty makes me different from everyone else. Life would be so boring if everyone looked exactly the same, but what is inside oneself makes one beautiful, not only inside, but outside as well. I personally could not be more content and happy with who I am.
Michael Jordan once said,”Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up.Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it¨. These obstacles can sometimes be a disability. It can also be poverty issue. Even with these obstacles individuals still have to figure out how to cope with them. Some individuals might use the way of guidance and trust their instincts, while others may use resources they have to overcome their obstacle.
Although people go through struggles some deal with them differently, some people do things to keep their mind off of the problem, others take medicine, and some people do what Nikki Giovanni does, writes about her struggles and use them as a reason to keep fighting. Nikki Giovanni endeavoured struggles in her life that have changed her whole life. Her lifestyle when she was younger was difficult. When she was younger racism and segregation was a major issue occurring in the United States (Nikki Giovanni ). White people would try to make her hate her family and being black but that didn't affect her. Giovanni used her family as a sign of love and even with the lack of luxury it didn't change her thoughts on what her family meant to her (Nikki Giovanni ) . Later in her life she received the news that she was diagnosed with cancer in multiple places in her money. After recently having surgery, in an x-ray had shown massive tumors along her ribs. Due to the cancer she had to remove parts of her ribs and lungs to survive. In an article Nikki Giovanni says “ "I can see the danger in people like me," she told the newspaper, “You get this tumor and you don't die, so you feel you have this mission ("Nikki Giovanni bounces back after cancer forces partial removal of her lung and ribs.").” She is taking the cancer as a mission from God that she must overcome, she is getting the strength to fight cancer from
To start with, it is important to be able to overcome obstacles because it will help you achieve your goals in life. No matter what your dreams are, there are always going to be setbacks, those who are able to overcome them find the life they want; because even if it seems like everything is going your way, don’t count on it staying that way. Be prepared for whatever challenge is thrown at you next. Like Sylvester Stallone once said “Life ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. No one hits harder than life, but it ain’t how hard you can hit. It's how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done”.
In life we all face obstacles. The troubles that we face don’t define us, how we overcome the situation is what makes us the people we are today. Throughout my life I have faced many trials and tribulations that I had to overcome with the help of my mother, ofcourse. I was smooth sailing in life until I started high school.
In my experience, it is just about impossible to get through college without any type of obstacles to overcome. Obstacles in college can be big or small, but are any of the things that interfere with any of your courses, in class and homework assignments. These obstacles can include other courses, having a job, having children, and many other things. It is important to always put your schoolwork first, when possible, to ensure success throughout your time in college.
As a hurdler for County High, I stumble upon some pretty tough obstacles each time I race; the same is true in life. Everyone encounters obstacles, but in order to overcome them and succeed, one must never give up.
